Confiscated $8097 in customer payments for 90 days without warning

Avoid like the plague! Unless you don't like keeping your own money. Authorize.net has been holding$8097 in customer payments for more than 56 days and refuses to release the funds to me for 90 days. All customers have had the funds withdrawn from their accounts and have signed written agreements to have the funds transferred via ACH. I have never had one customer cancel a check or credit card payment, and I have excellent credit. I’ve already paid for and shipped all the products to the customers, and they’re satisfied with the products.

Can't Get Our Credit Card Funds

We are a small business who engaged Authorize.net 2 months ago. To date we have been unable to get our credit card receipts deposited into our bank account.Numerous calls and people at their end have advised no knowledge about how to fix the problem. Meanwhile they continue to collect ...and keep...our revenue.

This is a shady company. I don't usually bother with reviews if I'm just annoyed. But when I feel scammed,I want to make sure others know about it. If you're surprised by Authorize.net charges, I think it means they haven't been clear about what the charges were going to be. And that's the worst type of company to be in such an important partnership with. As others have mentioned, they will start taking fees from your bank account IMMEDIATELY after your application, even if you don't have a functioning merchant account approved yet. Maybe a few weeks later a partner starts to follow up and ask for underwriting details on your application. By that time, you've probably already found another merchant account and wondering why authorize.net has been charging you. Just a heads up. Hard pass unless you have no possible other options.

Scammers!!

I was looking for a processing company and put through an application BUT they couldn't help me out as I'm Canadian and needed an SSN or ITIN in order to open an account.Little did I know they were charging me monthly for a service I never did get!! When I noticed the payments coming out of my account 10 months LATER I called the bank and had them cancel the charges and reverse the last few payments. After I did this I got a message from Authorize.net saying I OWED them money!! FOR WHAT?!! I just now got a letter from collections OMG saying I owe $100 OMG!! I call this Authorize.net and I give the lady the last 4 digits of my bank account the name of my company the address and e-mail....she said she can find it and needs me to login to their website, this is where I said NO I'm not logging into anything to do with this company!! DO NOT give them your bank info or anything else they are scammers. I'm not sure what to do about this being Canadian. Avoid the website and anything to do with this company!!

Horrible business!!! Avoid at all costs. They will set up an account quickly and you can start processing payment.However, the neglect to inform you that after you process the payments you account will be sent for review. Then and only then your funds will be released. THE BEST PART if they don’t like a business model they will immediately close your account without warning call it a business decision and withhold the funds for up to 120 days. Amazing they don’t like the business model of property management/ Landlord.

Lots of Weird Inconvenient Error Inducing Stuff in the Software.

As software for processing credit cards, TrustPilot is a has-been. There is better complimentary software out there.Automatic billing is completely separate from customer profiles, so looking up billing contracts for a particular client is not a good process. If you want to see what the next bill date is in an automatic billing contract, you have to look up the last bill and then calculate in your head when the next one is by looking at the frequency field. If you want to set up automatic billing before you run your first charge manually, Authorize.net forces you to create a duplicate customer account! Every process in there has weirdness like that. Stuff that may have been tolerable 20 years ago, but for such an expensive software, it's a has-been.

Authorize.net is not recommended. Many bad experiences. 1. Authorize.net keeps changing formats causing you to have to ask your developer to keep updating.Otherwise your processor will not work properly. 2. Authorize.net has a poor system to detect fraud. I lost over $30k in fraud payments due to Authorize.net poor system. I had to ask my developer to program ways to detect fraud and not rely on Authorize.net. 3. Authorize.net requires and forces you to change passwords every 3 months. It is a big hassle especially if you have more than one person who needs to log in. Being forced to change your password every 3 months is a nuisance .

Too bad I can't leave 0 or negative ratings. 1 star isn't even deserved. Outdated fraud detection.We received a few charge-backs (due to the outdated fraud detection) and the notices were sent to us via standard mail. We received them less than 24 hours before a response was due. Fast forward a few weeks and they closed our merchant account. OK fine. We've been meaning to move away from Authorize.net anyways. HOWEVER, we received an order at 8am and confirmation from Authorize.net stating the payment was approved. 9 hours later, at 5pm, we were informed our account has been closed. 2 hours after that we received an e-mail stating the settlement of the transaction at 8am failed. We fulfill orders the same day they are received. Essentially, we shipped the products out but didn't receive payment due to unacceptable and negligent errors on Authorize.net's end. We own a portfolio of online businesses and have worked with many payment gateways both currently and in the past. This was our first and absolutely our last experience with authorize.net. Avoid doing business with this company.
