I was once proud of our national carrier but frankly, they have sunk so far that I just hope they go through. We were forced to cancel a flight out of LHR, Club Euro, seats chosen and paid for, due to ongoing Covid restrictions. A voucher was issued which you'd think would be valid for the next flight you book. Well yes, but only to get on the plane. Despite having credit left over after choosing a flight, it seems we cannot use that credit to pay for seats. So here's the thing. Easyjet, have fully flexible Covid policies, BA's policy is to nickel and dime you over seat and luggage prices for which you have to pay again. As for calling the Customer Service number - forget it. Look at the other reviews: After torturous menu announcements telling you to go to BA.com, which often just hangs anyway, you finally reach a recorded message that says - 'We are too busy and you are too unimportant for us to want to speak to you, goodbye', and the line goes dead. Sorry people but if you still choose to book with this outfit, after reading the litany of similar feedback on these pages, then you have only yourselves to blame. Absolutely appalling.

Bad commercial practices

Reviewed on 2021-05-23T10:04:41

Bad commercial practices, they denied me boarding when I had all documents to travel, claiming that I will get a refund. Then they make you go through a slow and inefficient customer service process until you give up on your refund.

Beware British Airways are no better than a bucket charter!

Reviewed on 2021-05-22T13:52:55

Beware British Airways are no better than a bucket charter airline. Currently 80% of trustpilot reviewers have rated them average to terrible.Sadly I’m one of their victims that fit into the terrible category. My flights were cancelled at 6 days notice after being booked for months. No means of contacting them by phone or email. Took 5 days for any response to a complaint by email. No support, no compensation, unacceptable delay in being refunded cost of flights when they cancelled them! Not even an apology. Will never fly BA again or make the mistake of assuming they are any better than a bucket charter company. Once BA service meant something but clearly you cannot trust BA anymore. Am £100’s out of pocket but it’s the stress of being left completely high and dry without any support which I’m most angry about. I won’t make the same mistake twice!

Would you please refund my £150? I have written to you a number of times now. You refunded my son,we were travelling together. You do not reply. Why? Do you want this to go to court? I am recording this on TrustPilot and soon FB. If you do not respond to this, it will be the Small Claims Court. I totally disagree with the statement…

Reviewed on 2021-05-20T07:48:25

I totally disagree with the statement British Airways have handled the pandemic well.I have had my flight cancelled several times including on the 22nd December when I was just 3 hours from checking in and already in a Gatwick hotel. It was rebooked again for 1st June and with NO explanation that flight was pulled last week. I rebooked for the 17th June for the 9th time on Friday the 14th May and within 2 days the time was altered from 11.45 to 13.25. I don't believe a damned thing that British Airways tell me. While other airlines, TUI, Easyjet etc, appear to be providing a service once more, British Airways are simply kicking the can down the road and toying with travellers emotions. They won't offer refunds, so this way they hang on to the customers money indefinitely. If I fly on the 17th and it is a big IF I fly on the 17th June, I will retract this statement but I will believe it when I am at 38,000 feet. I am fully expecting the flight to be pulled for no reason again but now it is more serious as I have paid for hotels at my destination. Not that will bother BA at all they could not careless about the customer. We shall see but I am not hopeful. I just wish BA would be honest and come clean instead of these constant lies, while other airlines are doing their best to get planes in the air once more.

Organised and friendly

Reviewed on 2021-05-18T08:48:55

British Airways have made travelling during the pandemic easy, stress free and far less daunting. So many airlines have been slow to issue travel vouchers for cancelled flights, and it’s been challenging to then use them to re-book. BAs online vouchers have been a breeze, so it gives me confidence to keep booking with them. My experience in the airport was superb. The assistance was clear and staff friendly. All precautions are being taken while not detracting from the excitement of being back travelling.

Unbelievably appalled by their customer service...

Reviewed on 2021-05-18T08:38:53

Unfortunately I got stuck overseas because BA had cancelled my flight. I tried to rebook but contacting BA from overseas is very difficult. You are advised to send them a “Tweet” or call their customer service team, which by telephone and an average of 50min+ waiting is very expensive. A tweet literally takes days for them to respond to, so after 4 days I had to call their customer service team to rebook and had to pay an additional £2002 to get back home! In addition, the call had cost me $157! Unbelievable - why on earth don’t they just have a simple web-chat service on their website to help their customers? Moreover, BA refuse to cover these extra costs, which is appalling to say the least. I don’t think that I’ll ever want to travel with them ever again under ownership of this Spanish corporation - their service has literally gone through the floor.
