Still a lot to improve to be finally the best choice instead of the best alternative

In my simple opinion, since 2.83.X LTS approached we are experiencing on how much general performances through CUDA (so Nvidia partnerships)rocks but details, even tiny, makes the real difference with Maya and other competitors.
One of the actual weakest points are the UV checkboard and the UV unwrapping so, by consequences, not great performances when you jump to texture paint.
The UV checkboard should be applied as visible/non visible into the UV editing menu, under View>Display>after the really useful Stretching option. The UV unwrapping is still a total mystery to me even when I use external plugins like UV Packmaster Pro (paid version) because from my instinct is just a matter of weak algorithim during the calculation. Unfortunately, this lower precision generates other troubles highly visible when you swith to Texture Paint by consequences. The texture Paint menu should implement Layers in order to give a sense to the alpha channel concept itself and a simple&essential set of digital brushes that mimic same intuitive and artistic attitude we saw in Corel Painter series (with the possibility to load up additional set of brushes). I don't ask to mixing colors directly on screen (that would be a dream!) bu you know, maybe in 3.0 Beta?

Keep up the good work and please, support OpenCL via Linux systems with a better synergy with AMD. We need to use the Radeon Pro series at 101% especially during those crazy times of mainstream shortage due to mining activities.

Maybe Linux and some others are more important, but this is one of the best open source projects of all time.It’s a great 3D program that does just about everything and that’s put a lot of effort into great documentation.
If you’re into 3D graphics, download it for free and try some YouTube tutorials. Lots of fun to draw and play around.read more
