Great program for busy people

Great program for busy people. I'm a high school senior doing dual-enrollment full time at a local college and I'm quite thankful for Codecademy's offerings.I've wanted to delve into coding, but I didn't have the time or money to pay for a course, Codecademy's free programs are great intros to coding and computer programming.

I have completed the free beginner coding class

Reviewed on 2021-03-31T13:41:19

1.0 I have completed the free beginner class on CODING BASICS from Codecademy. I find the material comprehensive and deep for the level of study.Tell you what, your average eight-year-old can follow the material! I already feel I could write basic code in JavaScript if I knew the "grammar!" However, I have not yet had any need to contact Codecademy for any assistance taking the course, and therefore cannot tell what their customer service is like. I guess I am not their customer yet and I do not know if it is too early to give this review. 2.0 I intend to follow up with whatever free training Codecademy has on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and SQL - in that order. I learned about these programming languages from internet searches. 3.0 Then, I will take the paid training they have on the foregoing and obtain the associated certifications, trusting that the presentation will continue to "be a breeze." 4.0 Finally, I will head into the market and earn a dollar or two, while picking up additional professional courses from Codecademy and from elsewhere, as required by my "coding escapades." That's my considered opinion, and it took me time to write it. Happy coding!

I absolutely love codecademy! I started doing a few of their free courses and I'm an absolute n00b with 0 coding experience and I've learned so much!Very helpful and very simple lessons which don't overload you with information! I'd give it 5 stars if pro was a bit cheaper, it's a bit on the pricey side if you're not a student!!

The free courses are great, but limited

Reviewed on 2021-03-30T22:38:16

The free courses are great. It's a bit of a bummer that the new up-to-date stuff isn't free though. It makes sense for the company itself but I don't think the marketing of it being a free place to learn to code is very accurate. For example you can learn Python2 for free, but that's pretty much not being used now and most things are getting moved over to Python3 which has only paid courses. I personally think that all of the basic courses should be free, but getting to more complex stuff should be paid for. Overall the content is good, but if you're looking for a free place to learn to code it may not be the best place.
