What does DeviantArt, Inc. do?

Bleed and Breed Art. We are where art starts, but that's only the beginning. We are the movement for the liberation of creative expression. We believe that art is for everyone, and we're creating the cultural context for how it is created, discovered, and shared. Founded in August 2000, DeviantArt is the largest online social network for artists and art enthusiasts, and a platform for emerging and established artists to exhibit, promote, and share their works with an enthusiastic, art-centric community. We have over 44 million registered members and attract over 45 million unique visitors per month. Our members—known as deviants—upload tens of thousands of original pieces of art every day, ranging from painting and sculpture to digital art, pixel art, films, and anime. Artists love us because we are an inclusive and supportive community. We help them find their identity through self-expression. We provide the tools, resources, and exposure to enable them to become better, more successful artists. We inspire people to create art by feeding their creativity. We can't help it—it runs through our veins and compels us to nurture it in others. This is DeviantArt.

Categories are gone

Categories are gone, limited amount of tags you can use, forum posts that expire so you can't comment,Eclipse's new weird boxy designs that is basically a rip-off of Artstation, but somehow even worse. DA, you've failed. Probably the time to just let your site die.

Negative stars.

Reviewed on 2021-04-03T05:15:45

I would rate this negative stars if I could. It's a shame because I was one of those long-time users who stuck with it even through the worst of times, the lopsided enforcement of the Terms of Service and the way people have taken advantage of that, the admins never really listening to the users, and site changes that made the place more difficult to use and simply a lack of interest. There are a few factors that made me leave DeviantArt, mostly that I have found other places that are more engaging, but Eclipse was a big part of why I ended up deactivating. This was the change that wound up making it impossible to use the site for the one thing that made it worthwhile even after the move of most of my favorite artists to Twitter and Tumblr. The search function is completely broken, making it impossible to find Photoshop resources (brushes, patterns, swatches, etc., which DeviantArt has a lot of and I got use out of it for that purpose). So I'd rate this site with negative stars if I could. I had a good time there and made some friends, but the bad far outweighs the good here.

0 Star actually.

0 Star actually. Since eclipse launched, there are barely any people active who favorite art pieces, share art, hang out or watch people in general as the staff never listend to their userbase. Artists even barely get commissioned anymore due to people just leaving and a lot of artists did rely on DeviantART for their businesses and work. It instantly dropped once eclipse launched and it just ruined a lot for artists. What a waste and shame.

Deviantart these days

Reviewed on 2021-03-14T05:22:39

Boy, should I explain. I had a twin brother who made a deviantart account since 2015,when encounter a troll who has addiction for diaper fetish in 2017, he was pissed, sure my bro has aspergers and had mental issues and sometimes lashed out, which i did talk to him offsite but deep down he cared and stop lashing out in 2018 also by the time of december 2018, he was depressed due to pstd, he not only proceeds to deactive his account but he also gave all his ocs (except some who were given away) to me for my twitter account when i started making one on the 22 of october via phone message and moved away from it. as for myself, I never made a account unlike my bro, this site i found out that there is some massive cyber bullying that the site didn't stop, I never liked the site at all. Note: He also left the htf fanon wiki so I started using his on january 2020 to somewhere between october or august 2020

zak's another deviantart review

Reviewed on 2021-03-05T10:47:38

it's been about more than 9 months since entire deviantart users are forced to use eclipse which'slargely subpar from old deviantart layouts not only it lacks lot of features that make deviantart good(whatever these features come back recently, they're tends to put behind paywalls by making them only usable by core members). I once got around 400 deviantart points to pay point commission(only to get refunded later as the person that charge that amount of points are just for making people not asking too much characters to draw) just before Deviantart announces that only core members that can use Points for either commissions. this is one of my deviantart pet peeve not only I relies on deviantart points to pay commissions there instead of Cash cuz I can't use Paypal(from it's verifications requires credit cards among other reasons), it also make deviantart points in the hands of free members useless(unless used to buy core memberships, which I did anyway just to spend much of these useless points) there's Spambots such as favebots that hijacked old accounts, 'hi' bots, and so on that can outnumbers active users there Rampant cyberbullying in Deviantart comes to play on making Deviantart users that commits suicide IRL outnumbers deviantart users that dies in Real Life from old age at least ten to one lot of my online friends there(good one) has no longer active in Deviantart(some of them don't tell anyone about their current whereabouts either online) for either this reason we should look forward Artspacious(cuz we have to wait until end of 2021 to take residence in Artrise, while Artspacious can goes on earlier than even Artrise's beta testing) where I can salvage anything I used to post in Deviantart into Artspacious(unless when they're either too outdated or the posts in question are low-efforts, latter can be posted on Instagram instead) and Deviantart admins approving Art Theft are part of Hegelian dialectic(that must have to do with copyright laws) that can outlaws all fanworks just like that dialectic make alternative viewpoints of real world thingies (more often than not called 'conspiracy theories' by people) got outlawed not to Mention Pay-to-See Arts are often misused by Art Thieves

DeviantArt doesn't value it's members

Reviewed on 2021-03-05T04:34:01

DeviantArt doesn't value it's members. They only value your money. I had an issue where I had been gifted points instead of paid out through a commission widget, which means you cannot withdraw them to PayPal. I emailed the team about this issue, and asked if they had any solutions for me as I desperately need that money (for my 18 year old feline friend who has stage three kidney failure). They basically told me 'better luck next time', and closed the ticket. Horrible customer service. My point is proven when you realize more than half of the DeviantArt community asked for Eclipse to not be released, or at least for Eclipse's issues to be fixed; but they ignored us all. Don't use DeviantArt, look into ArtRise instead.

deviantart is gone for good.

if i could give it lower than one star i could. got a note that i was using a hateful/racial slur after i got banned from the forum, when i click on the link where the supposed hateful/racial slur is used, i not only can't see the comment because i'm banned from the forums and i guess its done intentionally because they didn't think i possess enough braincells to think about checking the comment from a logged out account, but the comment doesnt even contain a slur let alone a hateful or racist one. comment in question that i got banned over: deviantart. com/comments/18/2628572/4905681212 and special FU to their stupid mod @pakaku who uses his position to solve personal issues they have with users.
