Aubrey is a compassionate listener and makes each customer know he values their time.I stepped into Dr. Marten’s Topanga store for my first Dr. Marten’s experience. Aubrey greeted me with a warm smile and delivered beyond all of my expectations to make my first purchase of Dr. Marten’s absolutely effortless and fun. I was overwhelmed by the huge selection of shoes and boots and he absolutely knocked it out of the park by taking his time to explain to me what was different about the several different models and brought out a few pairs for me to try. Aubrey could tell what I wanted, before I could even verbalize it. :) Before I knew it, I had fell in love with a pair of boots, but was worried that I didn’t know how to care for them and break them in, so he explained to me that it would take some time to break them in and leather softener would help speed up the process. I’ve worked in the retail industry and have been on both sides of the counter as a customer and an associate and I can’t tell you how helpful he was in the process of helping me find a new pair of boots that I absolutely adore. I wanted to write this review to let you know that you have a very empathetic employee who made me feel cared about rather than just looking at me as a customer and you should be very proud to have him as an employee on your team. And Aubrey if you’re reading this, thank you for being patient, kind and having a great attitude. I’ll be telling my friends to shop at this location.

I had to contact the customer service department about a first order discount code. I was contacted,by e mail, by Rafael U. He suggested very clear instructions to try to rectify it myself, which didn't work so I was sent an alternative code within a couple of days, which included a weekend (out of hours). All I can say is that, in customer service terms, I cannot remember being helped as quickly as this and with no fuss, by any other customer service department. It is good to know that a good product is backed up by good company practices, quite rare these days. Thanks Rafael and I am now looking forward to receiving my boots.

My last pair of DM’s lasted many years so I didn’t hesitate to order a new pair. Unfortunately,after very little wear, the leather began to crack despite regular polishing. I did not by directly from Dr Martens but from an independent retailer who have ignored my requests for a replacement pair. Likewise, Dr Martens are unwilling to stand by the quality of their product and replace them. I won’t be buying another pair - going to try Solovair boots - made in England at the same factory that used to make DM’s before they moved production to the Far East.
