Terrible experience

Reviewed on 2021-05-05T21:06:55

Terrible experience for me. Be very cautious before you sign up for an account. First off, what you are paying for are numerous recommendations into a very risky market which they are under no obligation to make with any sense or strategy. You may have success or, you may not - but your outcome doesn’t hinge on any advice they can give but more from your own research and diligence - which can be done without paying anyone. I believe services that charge and offer advice like this should be scrutinized because it would be very easy to offer a similar service and randomly select tickers only to find that some will win and some will fail - with the exact same outcome. The best way to get a grasp on investing is find a credible resource and learn the 101s. Even if you are a seasoned investor, by now, surly you have realized that no one on planet earth has a more clearer crystal ball than you. So, where does this leave me? I don’t know how to even log in because I can’t navigate their website. I get bombarded by multiple emails a day asking for more money for better recommendations and I have a credit card on a continual subscription that I can’t remove from their system. It’s gotten to the point where I might have to get a new credit card. So, all in all, I think their business is legit - you get stock recommendations in exchange for your funds. But keep in mind, you can literally get recommendations from anywhere, anyone and from anything - all for free. But do yourself a favour, do your homework and if you are just a little bit smart, you will be MUCH better off in the long run - guaranteed.

Incessant nagging and predatory practices

Reviewed on 2021-04-28T18:48:54

These people will send you incessant nagging emails everyday multiple times a day trying to get you to sign up for more "services".They make it difficult to cancel or remove your credit card details, you cannot service your own account, you have to email them and if you don't treat them like royalty they simply tell you to adjust your language and send another email. Predatory behavior, they will charge your card again after one year without asking if you want the service even if your payment method fails they just keep trying to take the payment out over and over until your card works again.

I subscribed for the basic level

Reviewed on 2021-02-18T23:52:24

I subscribed for the basic level, looking to get some articles and research recomendations from the fools - GARBAGE!all of it! i'm not a newbie at investing and just wanted some articles. all i get is offers to pay more and more money for stocks i'm not interested in owning!!! EVERY single email yaks about shopify up 1400% and yadda yadda up 1400% or eve 15000% yak yak yak - terrible service - i often wonder how much money from foolish subscribers they invest into the market? hey fools at motley fool i to own shopify and it's up a lot - like 1200% - i would not recommend this stock to any investor at its current price - clearly you are a scam!!! hey guess what i've bought and sold amazon numerous times and tesla numerous times i still hold a few shares from way back when they are up a bazillion percent - still would not recomend them to investors at current price levels - you fools are all a joke! Feb 15th 2021 I don't need help navigating my subscription! I need spam blockers to stop the useless emails I get from stock advisor canaduh! Since you needed to respond to this review and all others here is a good indication for other readers of this review to understand that the subscription isn't worth Jack s**t! In the few weeks after writing this review I've received countless emails telling me it's the last chance to join the ai investing portfolio which started at like 1500$ and is now down to 800$ to join, same with hidden gems starting out at 1900$ to join that one and it's now 900$ and the lost goes on and on and every one of them is "last chance" to join blah blah blah Folks I just wanted some good articles hoping to trim down the research time for my investing but I can honestly tell you that any subscription to this services is basically paying them to spam the frick out of your email.... I'm an investor and like many investors I've made 600% 1000% etc - I have also lost 100% of a trade like any investor - from their constant sales pitches to their track record in all I'm a better investor than any of these fools and you can be to and you probably are already better than they are save you subscription fees and keep you inbox clean this service is terrible. And I even wanted to like it and use it I get better info from Google and so can you!

So far Impressed with the Fool's

Reviewed on 2021-01-16T00:19:53

Motley Fool's provides it's clients with information and advice for a fee. Typically paid for advice is better than free advice.I have started with MF for 9 months after the big crash. I had started with their Stock Advisor Series, and followed their advise with diversification, and have been very pleased with the results. I have also fallen prey to some of their click bait for fee additional services such as Hidden Gems and also feel the advice as been very good and I have done very well on many of their recommendations. Note for every dollar you invest with your financial brokers you pay at least 1% for them to passively manage your money. So if your holdings are $500,000, you pay your guy $5000 annually to see returns fall short of the bench mark. Not to mention Mutual funds that have high MER's near 2.5% that keep your profits reduced. If you put some of that money toward some real advice and follow the directions, you may be pleasantly surprised. So far I am impressed with the Fool's. Thank you. Here is to 2021!!!

Extra fees drive me crazy!

Reviewed on 2020-04-10T13:14:20

I had been looking at Motley Fool for some time, trying to decide whether or not I should purchase a membership.I have RRSPs with an investor but i was looking at doing some of my own investing with my TFSAs. I had read some reviews from people who liked their advice and others who were upset because the picks they had recommended did not pan out. I was ok with that because no one can predict the future and there is always going to be a risk. So eventually I purchased a membership and was looking forward to accessing all of their knowledge and advice. What I found and the reason I am writing this review (something I NEVER do) is that almost every time I rec'd an email of something I was very interested in, if i wanted that info I had to pay more money! Recently with all the markets down, I have looked at this as an opportunity to buy some under valued stocks, so when I rec'd an email about an upcoming on-line briefing (April &/2020 I think) I was very excited, it was exactly what I was looking for! Well....... after I watched the video and scrolled down the screen...........if I want access to this info........you guessed it, it could be mine as a member for the extra special fee of about $900.00. That was it for me! I have been in sales/management for over 25 years and what always bothered me was the ones who would bait you in the door for what seemed to be a pretty fair deal but would then begin to hammer you with all the extras! This is main reason that some sales people gave themselves such bad reps and have consumers on edge when making a purchase. There might be some really good advice here and maybe I am missing out on an opportunity but out of principle I will not pay any extra fees! I guess I am out! Dave Summers.
