Worst company I’ve ever dealt with

H&R Block has had my second stimulus check since 1/4/2021. They ev they sent it back to the IRS on 1/6/2021.On 1/29 I called them again and was told they actually never sent it back, and that they needed me to update my address and they’d send a check. I still do not have the money, and have now spent 3 weeks being transferred from person to person. Each person tells me something completely different, then transfers me to someone else or hangs up on me. I have had three separate people tell me they were going to email me a form that I need to fill out to request a new check be sent. I have yet to receive an email, and it’s been three weeks since the first person said they were sending it. They also say they cannot send a new check into 4/29 - but that’s only if I can actually get the form by then. Today I was hung up on by a supervisor in their financial department. I have now filed complaints with the BBB and Ohio attorney general. H&R Block has not responded to either.

Completely unprepared and no options to select covid related exceptions on my end.On top of the lack of their software recognizing the world situation. Primarily I was supposed to be allowed to paid what I owed over a three year period. They gave no options for this. I figured I might as well pay it off. Though I had to pay H&R Block $100 just to be able to pay off the IRS. I did everything myself and this is ridiculous that you think it is acceptable to charge this much for nothing. Whoever there thinks that it is acceptable to raise prices you charge while people wait for money, you are a worthless scumbag. Will never be doing business with this company again.

This was the worst year ever. We have been going to H and R block for years different places never had a problem,well we had a different tax person this year because the guy we had the last 2 years left. Well we had this woman named Liljana who was the worst ever. She messed our taxes up so bad. We filed in Febuary and didn't hear about what we were getting back until the middle of April. Then to make things worse it was a lot less then she told us. We will never ever go back to H and R block again !!! Plus we have a very simple tax return an they charge you an arm and leg to have them done which is ridiculous!! We are going somewhere else from now on.

I just called H&R block to ask a simple question about which of their online services (i.e., deluxe,premium, etc) would be best for my situation. But, the reported hold time was 25 minutes long!! So, no thank you! I definitely won't be using H&R block.

Went to H&R Block to get my taxes done, so many mistakes on my taxes that I had to wait an additional three months,can’t get a call back from a representative, continuously hung up on, and they made the mistakes and I have to pay for it.

Short of the long, I went to h&r for over a decade. In 2020, I was yelled at at by a lady that called herself the manager,later to discover she was not, in front of an overly packed lobby of customers.
Then the IRS sends me a love letter, and when I take it to H&R, again, short of the long, I'm given the middle finger.
They still call for me to set up an appt for this year, when I explain why I'm not coming back, I'm passed the the actual manager, who also, gives me the middle finger.
No respect, no loyalty to customers that are loyal to them. Over priced, but your paying for peace of mind, right? Nah, they don't have "your back" when it comes to doing taxes. They push you off the cliff then go, oops, nothing we can do. ?♀️
Btw, I also have a family member and a friend that have/currently works for this corporation. They have also confirmed H&R doesn't care about their employees either.

This program couldn't migrate the W2. Couldn't check the correct box on a SC state tax form.Then the customer service took over an hour to answer; two hours on the phone with customer service and HRB still couldn't fix either problem. As a result I couldn't efile my state tax and customer service tells me I'm rude. Well I'll be polite tomorrow and your product will still be a piece of worthless junk. Colossal waste of time and money.

Imported my info/return from last year, and almost got stuck paying $80 for the "Self-Employed" version,because I had self-employment income in 2019 even though I didn't have any in 2020. Customer service says they can put me back to free, but doesn't tell me that will reset my progress and I'll have to re-enter last year's info by hand. Ended up needing to upgrade to Deluxe later anyway to finish. Sigh. Then I had a basic tax question, and the person I got connected to on chat just said I'd have to talk to a tax professional (for an extra fee). Google answered my question for free. Then it falsely flagged a problem with a 401k rollover, which prompted me to call the account custodian, who walked me through the tax implications and assured me that it's not actually a problem. (On the plus side, it also flagged excess HSA contributions that I'd made that I needed to withdraw to avoid a tax penalty.) Then there's an extra charge to file my Indiana return (which there wasn't last year). I was almost done when I noticed that my Indiana Earned Income Credit was $0, even though I was pretty sure I was eligible for it. I later filled out the forms by hand to double check and it should have come out to $77. So much for their maximum refund guarantee! Tried to use the chat to ask someone about that, but it kept disconnecting me before I could get through to a real person, if my phone's screen turned off or I switched tabs to check my email or anything, even for a few seconds, which was practically impossible to avoid due to the long wait times. (This happened to me no less than four times.) Finally gave up on that and tried calling them - after about 5 minutes of navigating their automated prompts and then 5 minutes of hold music interspersed with annoying "did you know we do this" type of messages, it just went silent, leaving me unsure if I was still on hold or not, and about 25 min later it hung up on me. What a waste of time trying to get in touch with their support! (When they'd probably just tell me to talk to a tax professional anyway.)
