Appalling service, yet again. Ordered an arm chair, delivery slot given so arranged to work around this.Waited for delivery, no chair delivered. Spent an hour online and calling various numbers. Eventually got through after Twitter conversation! Chair arrived 5 hours late. Customer service ineffectual, no apologies made. Will not be using agai. Take my advice and steer clear.

Do not shop online unless you want to speak to dismissive customer service reps with no channel for feedback

Just had a shocking experience with a customer service rep. Her professional manner was simply horrifying - she was rude and impatient since the start of the conversation,and became highly agitated and argumentative when I politely asked to speak with a different person instead. During the conversation, when I did not understand whether she wanted the name of the sender or the recipient and asked to confirm, she repeated "What's YOUR name? Your name! Your name, your name!" with increasingly high volume and a very dismissive tone. I also chose to participate in the service survey before the call, but had not been given access to this afterwards. In fact I did receive a call from an M&S number, but was immediately hung up before I had a chance to answer. Not sure if this was done on purpose to avoid a negative response.

I bought the chicken fijatas and chicken chunks..both a disgrace..chicken tastes of nothing and its like eating rubber..both went in the bin..I do expect a full refund when you read this.. not impressed

Chicken tenders not so tender

I visit your store in glenrothes regularly and this week i decided to buy your chicken tenders 3 for£10. WELL one bite was enough for me and my husband it was like biting into a piece of rubber absolute rubbish,Needless to say they all went into the bucket, And i ordered a carryout instead. M&S once you have read this i expect a full refund.

Your parents choice to shield, not our fault...

I ordered my Mum several items for her birthday in January from M&S and had them delivered to her address.She lives quite a long way from me and I’d done the same for her Christmas present which had worked well but not everything was suitable in her birthday gifts. I saw my Mum who is 85 for the first time this week, they’ve been shielding has my Dad has a lung disease and Mum gave me the items that were not suitable to return for her which I did on Saturday in Leeds city centre, incorporating it with my son returning to his live music lessons. I was totally taken back at the reception I received. I was told I couldn’t return the items as it was now May; Under normal circumstances this is completely understandable but in this current climate, absolutely not! I said the decision felt wrong and very unfair, a supervisor came over and just quoted the policy, showing little empathy to the situation. I asked to speak to a manager as I was sure when I explained the circumstances they would understand and empathise this was the first opportunity I’d had to return the items, all with tags, original packaging and the receipt/delivery note. The manager came down after me waiting at the tills for 15 minutes and I explained everything to her, I was greeted with policy and no empathy what so ever. I asked what my 85 year old Mum should have done differently, considering she doesn’t even drive and was isolating for Dads sake and the manager told me, that it was their decision, isolating ended a month ago and that she (my elderly Mum) could have gone to a shop in the last month. I’m personally glad Mum was sensible and didn’t get on a bus or train into her nearest town and I’m shocked that’s what M&S expected of her to do, to be able to swap the items for a gift card. In the end the manager gave me a refund receipt for the pyjamas as they were the same price but the gloves which were £19.50 were now £1.80 (really??!) and I was just given them back. So it was now ok to return the full price pyjamas but not the gloves which had gone into the sale? I said I understood she was clearly following procedures and maybe she didn’t have the capacity to override that but could I please have the number for head office to discuss this scenario further at which point she turned quite nasty and said she didn’t like my attitude and she could make decisions, hence the receipt for the PJ’s, but not the gloves. So was she saying she didn’t empathise with my parents shielding situation and if so, why not? The manager did give me the number to head office and said good luck with that, they will just send you back to a manager like me in store. I left the store feeling stressed, deflated and really upset. My sister who lives close by me, did the same for Mum but from Next, she also saw Mum this week and returned some of her birthday items back to the Guiseley store a couple of days ago, it was no problem at all and they refunded back to my sisters account without question, what a difference and so much less stress. I feel very letdown and unfortunately after a lifetime of being a customer, I will no longer be buying clothing, presents, furniture, food etc from M&S, I'll be looking g for new providers with good Customer Service. End of an era but I'm done...
