I can hardly believe I find myself writing this, having owned and enjoyed Mercedes vans for over 30 years.Mercedes used to be synonymous with reliability, quality and excellent customer service, I'm sad to say neither is no longer true. From my first 308 and then a number of Sprinters not one of them ever let me down, regularly serviced and loved. A few years ago I bought a Vito, with in a short time it was safety recalled and a new steering rack had to be fitted. I was surprised but thought no more of it... Since then I have had a central locking motor pack up, Glow plug die, handbrake assembly need replacing, ABS sensor fail and now to top it off the steering rack needs to be changed again at a cost of £3k! This van is 6 years old and done less than 90,000 miles. The dealer was completely unfazed that such a part would need replacing so soon. Suggesting that the part was obviously not fit for purpose I thought there may have been some form of goodwill at least, nothing. So it is with a heavy heart that I will be looking to change it for a Vauxhall Vivaro (van of the year2021) that's if the van ever gets delivered back from the dealer...read more

BUY A TESLA!
I’ve had over 5 Mercedes over the past decade, so trust me when I say,I have literally watched their customer service decline.
Last time I called to make a payment I was charged $109 in FEES!!! To make a payment over the phone with an agent.. LOL you can’t make this stuff up.
Credit card fees, person fee, long waits, rude reps.. they’re exhausting.
Going Tesla next for sure!read more

I had the opportunity to drive an MB GLC for 2 days, before today's F1 race, in my mind,I decided I would buy one. But, after the last pit stop of today's race, on Russell and Bottas, I don't think I will buy it. It is clear that the F1 team cannot have a good race without LH, and for sure, when LH leaves MB the quality will most likely drop awkwardly.
I will not buy MB.read more

Jardine Motors Colchester Essex - Poor Quality Cars
I would like to share my disappointment at myexperience of my Mercedes Benz cars purchased from Colchester within a 3 month period.
- Bad drive
- Condensation
- Faulty Windows
- Engine Mount Bolts Loose and Missing
A180d
In December 2019 I purchased an A180d Saloon, on a 19 plate. From driving it for a few days, I noticed that the drive was very hard, and I felt every bump in the road. I just thought I was not used to a Mercedes Benz.
In January 2020 I opened the driver’s window, but it would not go back up correctly and would not function at all. I tested the passenger window and it was the same.
I reported the window issue with Colchester, and booked it in to be seen.
The front windows were fixed, and I was told the rear windows were also faulty, and parts were needed.
The car was returned to me, but with marks on the door panel passenger side that were not there before.
I could not be advised on how long the parts would take to come in. This was also the same, days after the car was back with me.
When driving the car again, I noticed rattles in the side panels, where I assume that these never go back together the same.
The windows also had a condensation issue. Colchester advised this happens on cars. I have never had it on any of my vehicles. On a visit to Colchester, I checked in the showroom car park on a cold morning, and none of the cars there had the same as mine.
After 10 days of no updates on the window parts, I decided that I did not want the car any longer, as it was not fit for purpose. It was not the quality I expected from a Mercedes Benz.
CLA200
I part exchanged the car for a CLA200 on a 2019 plate, with 2000 miles on the clock that was in stock at Colchester, reluctantly paying another £2160 payment.
My disappointment in Mercedes Benz quality was to be further fueled, in March 2020.
After an hour on the road and I noticed a loud noise. I thought it was someone else’s car, and actually thought “someone has a bad issue there”. With my window down, the noise was extremely loud and very concerning, and it was coming from my car.
The noise was like metal against metal, exactly like the sound of a train stopping.
Concerned it may be the brakes, I pulled over into the next road. I called roadside assistance, and they booked a mechanic.
The Mercedes Engineer arrived, 3 hours later, and he was shocked at the noise it was making and said he had never heard it before.
Removing the front drivers side wheel, he found a scaping noise.
The engineer then found the issue, and to our amazement, he found that two engine mount bolts were only half in the sockets. Then to our further astonishment, there was a bolt actually missing.
A bolt was scraping against the drive shaft when the engine moved under acceleration.
The engineer tightened the two loose bolts, but could not find a spare to replace the missing one. He said it was fine to drive, but to get it booked in for the work to be done.
March 2020 – Car was into Colchester, repaired and checked over.
Nobody has any idea how this has happened.
I am not a mechanic, but I can only see the reason being that the bolts were possibly not done correctly when it was manufactured.
The ‘invoice’ states that all “four” engine mount bolts were replaced and tightened. It sounds like I had a car that only had one bolt holding the engine in place.
One of the bolts has left a score on the driveshaft, and have been assured that this will not affect the car. I know the vehicle is under warranty, but the last thing I want to be doing it visiting the Service department all the time.
I have made a complaint to Mercedes Benz directly, and their communication has been extremely poor.
Some calls were never returned by Colchester.
Colchester need to check where my two cars were sourced.
My complaint has fallen on deaf ears, therefore I have decided to leave this review to allow others to decide on what, and where to purchase.
Unfortunately, I will never purchase a Mercedes Benz in the future.read more
Experienced the worst day ever at this…

Experienced the worst day ever at this dealership, having used them for the past 5 years.Took my car in at 09.10 this morning and got back there at 3 pm to check if my brake pads had been changed only to be told my car had not been touched at all though I had told them my reasons for booking an early or first appointment. No one listened to me , I was then told they could not get hold of me on the 3 occasions they called as we kept missing each other and they could not complete the work without speaking to me or having my approval which I understand, why then did they not email, text or leave a voicemail for me to respond.
Terrible communication and lack of customer care though when I left my car I had been promised it would be ready by 3 pm and I would receive a call with a quotation as soon a I left the dealership this morning, which never happened until the 3 calls at 14.42. I called the dealership several times was unable to get through and the number went to the centralised hub who emailed but there was no clear update regarding my car hence they could not help.
Having travelled a long way to get here I was left angry and frustrated. Tried to justify their actions rather than apologise I thought is not right, this should never happen to anyone and Mercedes should invest in training for their employees regarding customer care??.read more
