What is Mightier's Revenue?

Mightier's estimated revenue for 2023 is $6.38M.

What does Mightier do?

Mightier is a video game program that teaches kids emotional regulation through play. Mightier was developed and tested at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School to give kids a safe place to practice emotional regulation, develop coping skills, and build the emotional muscle memory they need to help respond to life's challenges. Many families have found Mightier beneficial when long-term therapy and/or medication hasn't worked for their family. Video games meet kids "where they are". Talk therapy often isn't fun or convenient for kids or parents. Parents have to leave work, kids generally resist going. Some Mightier players have a formal diagnosis (like ADHD or autism), but many don't. Mightier works by having kids wear a heart rate monitor as they play bioresponsive video games. As their heart rates go up, the games get more difficult. During these moments, the player is given the opportunity to practice calming skills, like deep breathing and visualization, to bring their heart rate back down. Kids are able to connect what's happening in their bodies at that exact moment with what's happening on the screen. The more kids learn to stay calm, the more they succeed in the games. The company works with popular video game developers to add the Mightier emotional learning layer to the games to keep kids engaged and learning. To date, more than 2.5 million games have been played on the Mightier app. As part of the Mightier experience, families are matched with a Masters level clinician.

Less meltdowns and more joy

Reviewed on 2021-01-12T23:48:27

We used mightier with our 9 year old, and it has made a big difference to self regulation. Her outbursts/meltdowns aren't as long or as intense now, as she has had practice breathing through it during play with mightier. Highly recommend this! It's bought more joy to our house!

The computer crashes 9 times out of 10

Reviewed on 2021-01-12T20:17:47

The computer crashes 9 times out of 10, and causes a lot of frustration to our kids by not working properly. It seems very cheaply made. The charger for the armband also doesn't work reliably (even though we've been sent a replacement, that one doesn't work well either).

Mightier is a great idea...but needs some work

Reviewed on 2021-01-05T23:56:17

Mightier is a great idea. There are some good concepts that our daughter has learned, but the tablet has been a lot more difficult to work with than we had hoped given how expensive the program is to purchase. The tablet is very glitchy and often take multiple tries (turning off or restarting) to get the program to load. We even were sent a replacement tablet, but the second one struggles as much as the original. Our daughter is visually impaired and struggles with how small the font is for many of the games. She is also not very "tech savvy" so it requires a lot of one-on-one to help her navigate new games or even to figure out what the object of the game is. We had also thought that it would automatically move her through learning the different strategies to manager her anger, but her older brother has had to help us figure out how to navigate that process. Finally, it has been disappointing that the system does not have a built in timer. For a child who struggles with regulating her emotions, the whole learning process is undone when she is told (either verbally or when an external timer goes off) that she needs to finish up and then she has a major meltdown at the end of the session. We have been using the system for almost 4 months now and have seen little, if any, improvement in her ability to regulate her emotions.

Product is not living up to its hype.

Reviewed on 2021-01-05T18:46:20

Product is not living up to its hype. My kid gets even more frustrated playing the games. This tool lacks actual pointer on calming techniques. My kid just kept on breathing hard instead of long and slow. Very disappointing.

Technology seems cool, but just a clunky games tablet

Reviewed on 2021-01-05T16:31:32

Tablet and parent portal are both difficult and frustrating to use. Game instructions are unclear, and games are often frustrating to play. After several weeks my child has only been playing games and not gotten any skills or feedback about how to use her heart rate lowering practice in real life.

Positive Change - for all my kids

Reviewed on 2021-01-05T15:27:06

This program has been great for my son. He was diagnosed with Rumination Syndrome with is rare and there are not a lot of treatments. Our MD suggested biofeedback which the insurance will not cover for rumination syndrome due to the limited about of research on the syndrome. My son started it and he has been able to handle his stress levels and his anxiety much better. We have noticed that his rumination has decreased. We liked it so much that we have his siblings "playing" the games as well. They let you have five people on the program so it is great to be able to allows the rest of the family to practice calming techniques. I have recommended this program so everyone that will listen. I have even provided feedback to his PCP and Social Worker for rumination as a wonderful at home assist for anxiety and stress in kids. I wish they has this when I was a kid.
