I accidentally ordered 2 airline…

I accidentally ordered 2 airline tickets with cancellation insurance (for the wrong dates) through Orbitz.The total was $1,174. I phoned them within the 24 hours cancellation policy. The agent put me on hold for quite a while, then came back on the line stating that she was on hold with the airline to cancel, but they still hadn't picked up yet. I asked her if I can get off the line and she can send me an email when cancelled. She agreed. I waited a few days, did not get an email, did not get a call back, and did not receive a credit on my card. I called back and was told that I could not cancel because it was beyond the 24 hour cancellation policy. I explained what happened. She then told me the documentation stated that the agent attempted to call me several times and was unable to reach me AND that she emailed me to let me know the cancellation was not able to be performed. I nearly lost my mind. I did not get any call and no email. I checked all of my email accounts (spam box included) thinking maybe I missed something...nothing. I checked my call record for that day...nothing. I was furious. I asked to speak to a supervisor, placed on hold, and was told that none were available and that one would call me back that day. No call. I called again the next day and explained to another agent, who told me the amount was beyond what she can do, waited for a supervisor, none was available, given a case number (which I was not even offered on the first call), and told that my case would be labeled "urgent" and a supervisor would call me within 3 hours. No call. I called the next day. Agent said he would refund, put me on hold, then said he couldn't because the amount was too great. Once again, I was placed on hold. He returned to the line and stated that supervision approved the return since I originally called within the 24 hour window. I was so happy, I certainly cannot afford that amount to be lost. Although it was extremely stressful, thankfully it was solved. The Better Business Bureau reports closed complaints for Orbitz was 674 in 3 years prior to last year, and last year there were 345. My assumption was that they lost a lot of money during the pandemic, that they were scamming people to try to recuperate funds (after reading reviews on this site, it made sense). Anyway, I would have called them everyday, several times a day, until I got a refund. Companies nowadays seem to have lowered the bar on services, increased prices, and lowered the quality of services/items. Unfortunately for the consumers, we seem to be put in a position to have to stay after them, just to resolve the issues. But, we are still stuck with poor quality items. It's ashamed, it seems to worsen every year. Moral of the story, bug them endlessly until you get a fair shake. Squeeky wheel gets the grease. Good luck to all consumers, and please share with others if you actually find a decent deal for a quality item.

I have been a very long time customer I never had any issues until now when they steal my money for a refund on a cancel flight that was cancelled 8 month ago.They like to pass the ball blaming the airline and not taking responsibility customer service instead on trying to resolve the issue they wipe there hands clean and that's it buyers beware on buying tickets thru Orbitz.

If you pay extra to have assigned seats, you will not have them when you arrive at the airport.If you try to contact Orbitz about an issue, you will either receive someone who doesn't have a clue how to help you or your call will be disconnected. (I'm guessing their call center is somewhere in the world with very poor phone service.) I was a regular Orbitz customer for many years but they have lost me. Their pricing isn't any better than other online travel booking sites, so don't waste your time or money.

I tried booking a ticket for 7 people and I couldn’t find anyone to help me. I tried calling and using their chat and still was not able to reach.The few that answered the call was lacking listening skills and was not ready to help me! I will not recommend orbitz to anyone at all!!!

I tried to cancel a future hotel reservation, but Orbitz said it was non-cancelable. I was never informed of this.If I had called the hotel directly, the price was the same and I could easily have canceled. NEVER USE ORBITZ to make a reservation. Investigate properties on Orbitz, then call the property directly.

Don't buy anything via Orbitz! They charged me twice and when I complained, they said that I will recieve the money back in a couple of weeks.When that didn't happened and I complained again, they said they are not responsible and they can't do anything and I had to file a claim directly with the airline... And that they "just" advertise travels, but they don't respond for anything related to them. Those are the textual words from the Orbitz's agent who talked to me. So do not trust in this site!
