You need to know that some things in Proton are never going to change.Support can not solve anything.Therefund process is clearly a matter of Proton.When it comes to paid app,users need to be careful about which version they download,the basic version 1.18.5 or the Early Access version.There is a significant difference between the two versions.Early Access version is much improved,it has added the TUN Adapter(beta),so the speed is now fast and the connection to a location is direct.However,it seems that Early Access version is not going to be completed soon and take a fixed form because it is constantly updated day by day and you have to watch and update the application.What a nuisance it is.I should point out the usefulness and necessity of the Split Tunneling feature,but I think it's not complete,because it can not exclude websites from using the VPN tunnel and this is a major omission.I would also like to point out the lack of WireGuard protocol and this is also a significant omission.In case a user has an issue with the Kill Switch,he can turn it off,so simply.In conclusion,as a paid Protonvpn user I have never had a problem with Proton running,despite the lack of some individual features.Proton was and remains reliable,stable,fast.
I call on Proton to take my review into account very seriously.

The VPN part of their service is a joke. Just like the support that cannot resolve anything. In fact,free version I was using stopped immediately functioning after I've upgraded a package for 163 CHF.
No one reacted for a while so I had to download another VPN (while having paid for this one) to talk with my family over Easter. Pathetic.
A lot of marketing about their servers being in Switzerland and no functioning VPN in the end. What is the use having servers in Switzerland if they cannot be used?
And, it does not work to downgrade too...although, they say it can be..
Mail works ok so far, but we will see...

I have already left a review of this vpn but I feel obliged to leave another one to warn people further of this terrible product.There have now been too many instances where, in the middle of bank transactions, email logins and secure online purchases, this VPN has just dropped out. Just like that, no warning nor reason, protection gone and all my information left exposed to hackers and fraudsters. Kill Switch is dismal and takes painfully long to reconnect, but get this, to the same IP address! What is the point of this? These deep functioning flaws have nothing to do with the strength of the internet connection I use nor ISP as this happens all the time, on every connection I use at least once. Sometimes being online is unbearable. I cannot understand how this VPN company stays in business.
The worst part is that they won't give me back my money! Their 30-day return policy is mean and misleading as it took me some time trialing the service and stupidly giving it a chance to realise it is actally terrible with paid servers weaker than the free option. This greedy company has simply left me out in the cold.
Try Nord VPN or Vyper as alternatives. At the very least, keep using the free option by ProtonVPN. You would be foolish if you actually paid for this "service" like I made the mistake doing. I would not recommend this VPN to anyone serious about internet security. It is amateuristic at best.

Here’s how to tell a first class VPN.
One: check on Trust Pilot to see if they answer any complaints.
Proton VPN always replies to comments.Two: How fast do they reply to emails for support and queries?
They always reply and are always polite.
Three: How good is the VPN?
It is excellent. It is easy to use whether it be paid or free. It is also fast.
Four: Are their Terms Of Service clear and easy to understand?
Yes. Moreover their web site is easy to use with explanations for all the questions you may ask.
Four: Security.
Where are they based? Switzerland, that’s where. The Swiss laws are very strict on privacy. You can rest assured they are based in Switzerland and not based in another country who only have a server in Switzerland. It is not the same thing.
Five: The free service.
They give an option of three countries with various servers with no issues. Ideal for those on the move or are a bit strapped for cash. That said, the basic plan is not expensive given they come under Swiss jurisdiction.
Six: Why don’t they get more publicity?
Be wary of so called “Top Ten VPN’s” shown on web sites and magazines. Ask how much the promoters are charging for promotion and a referral. Go direct to Proton for pricing and always check independent sites for unbiased opinions. Better still, try Proton VPN for yourself. You will not regret it.

Transparent, clear ToS, good features, secure core is great, nice clean UI, support for tor and p2p and so much more.Me and the boys scraped together enough to get plus, and it's completely worth it for under £2 a month each. I couldn't recommend this VPN more :)
