ProWritingAid is the best cloud-based machine-learning grammar-checking and copyediting solution on the market.They had a lifetime deal some time back. I was impressed enough to buy one and I never regretted it.
The thing about such cloud-based solutions is that they are slow in processing lengthy documents. The reason is because of the application of machine learning on cloud servers to predict the incorrect parts. Computational requirements go up tremendously with lengthy documents and this is why I think previous negative reviews about the supposed slowness of ProWritingAid is unfair.
ProWritingAid checks many grammar aspects, far more than its competition. Therefore, it is a tool for serious writers and editors. It is not a magical tool that will catch every mistake that you make. Although ProWritingAid is much better than the competition, it is not perfect. However, it is definitely much cheaper than paying a professional copyeditor. Bearing the limitations in mind, this is actually one of the best grammar checking and copyediting software on the market.

Has crashed my Outlook intermittently ever since the very first use.
Have lost some very important work when it has crashed too.
Support not much help...they seem to recognise it's a known issue and tell me not use the Outlook add-in and use the online version instead but that isn't addressing the underlying issue.
It also stops me from using Outlook completely whilst it's checking documents - maybe for up to a minute at a time so as an acclaimed productivity aid, it's useless.
you should be aware of this if you are planning to use this tool with Outlook.... you might not be very happy with it.

I recently tested a trial version of grammar checker. Compared to other tools, this one is a bit tricky to use.But I'm almost used to it and use it on an ongoing basis along with other grammar tools.
You can use the free version further, but there are restrictions on word checking, i.e. if you have a large text, then you will need to split it and check it in several parts.

After hearing about ProWritingAid from various authors who have said good things about it,I bought two years subscription.
I wish I hadn't, I am bitterly disappointed.
On both the online version and the desktop version I find it slow and frustrating. I am using it with Scrivener and am wondering whether I am doing something wrong. I loaded a book from Scrivener, and apart from the fact that some of the suggestions make no sense, I am finding it clunky and tedious to use. I then uploaded the book to the online version, and whilst it's slightly quicker, it's still frustratingly slow. I am using a Mac that normally whizzes through things. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to get the best from this ProWritingAid, I would gratefully listen, as I have two years left to use this blasted product.

This is by far the Worst Grammar checking app I have ever seen. The worst part is I already bought 3years licence at a discount,based on the positive comments by the time I bought it.
There are extremely silly corrections that ProWriting aid suggest that even a kid would not accept. But I lived with that, until it came to a point where I cannot stand any more. I am an Economics student and I used these to check my Essays.
Believe it or not, it did not recognise the word Macroeconomics. OK never mind...
And I got really angry when it suggested this:
Unknown word: Inflation
Change it to: initiation
only an alien will not know this word...
They might change it after seeing this review... But this is just 1 of 1000s such mistakes. Unfortunately, TrustPilot does not support images, otherwise I would have uploaded a screenshot.
DO NOT Buy this.
I have a Licence of Grammarly. 100 times better than this garbage.
