Never doing business with them again

Reviewed on 2021-02-15T02:27:05

Never doing business with them again. They are unclear on their website and then lie about what it originally said. They went in and changed what they wrote on their website regarding the description of a product and then claimed that it said what it said all along. False. I check multiple times and then all of a sudden the description was updated to something new. Unethical and deceiving company. They care more about $25 than keeping customers that will spend $1,000s. Real smart.

Plates arrived fast in pandemic!

Reviewed on 2021-01-09T22:26:07

I ordered several olympic plates from Rep. I got the cheapest, basic iron ones they had that were in stock.(They say "standard" on them.) The main thing is there are no burrs in the holes to scratch my bar. They are very basic plates and a great start to having my own equipment without breaking the bank. Best part, they arrived really fast!

Good experience; okay product

Reviewed on 2020-12-30T14:58:39

I'm torn between giving 3 stars or 4 stars; I wish 3.5 was an option. I ordered a PR-1050 (short)rack and a good amount of bumpers from them recently. I had no reason to contact customer support because no errors were made. COVID is a crazy time for fitness companies and when it came to fulfilling my order; Rep Fitness killed it. I paid for an instock item, it was packaged and shipped quickly, I received everything I ordered including all of the components to make the rack. I went with 3 stars because, as explained below, the product is just "good enough" and 3 stars reflect that. The cons I have are for the product itself, the PR-1050 rack. I'm trying to be reasonable due to its low price point ($270), but there are some clear design flaws that (from my inexperienced perspective) could be easily fixed. For example, the PR-1050 (and all 1000 lines I believe?) have weight storage horns on the back of the unit. This helps weigh the unit down, and of course, is a nice touch to incorporate some weight storage. However, the design flaw is that the nut/bolt that keeps the back post attached just barely -- about 1/4 to 1/2 inch -- hits the weight placed on the storage horns. This causes the whole bumper stack to lean to one side, and since bumpers are not iron, I'm apprehensive to stack numerous 45's on top of eachother since the bottom 45 could be permanently affected over time. I found a work around; place an iron 5 pound weight on first to help elevate the bumpers above the nut/bolt. If it was this easy for me to fix, why not just fix the unit itself? Additionally, one of my posts had a heavily bent weld. Where the post would connect in to the frame at the bottom, one of the "t flaps" (for lack of a better word) was noticeably bent. Thankfully I was able to still securely get this post connected to the bottom frame, but it certainly doesn't inspire confidence especially after their recent welding failures/safety strap recalls. I bought this rack to be a temporary hold over until I'm able to move into my next home at which point I'll purchase my 'gym for life.' I was considering Rep's 4000/5000 line, but after this experience I know I'm not going with them for my next purchase. The 1050's design flaw indicates either laziness or incompetence and the fact that the bent weld made it to me reflects a lack of quality control. It's fine for this rack, but I'd be very annoyed if I spent $4k on a 5000 line rack to have these issues. Also, Rep Fitness's previous draw (in early 2020) was their price point. However, after some recent price increases, they're really not all that much cheaper than American made products (referencing 4000/5000 line specifically, my 1050 was a good value). With Biden campaigning on actively encourage manufacturing in America by taxing import companies, it would make sense that Rep will be forced to increase prices again soon. Lastly, I have no idea why they'd do this, but Rep Fitness is clearly paying for reviews on this website. The posts below this - posted by "Tilak Joshi" and "Salwon Dabukka" - are very obviously fake and clearly posted to just boost their score on this website. It's very disappointing behavior to see from them.

In general, I am satisfied with the way they work, but they often overlook important details and do not always take into account personal wishes. They should definitely work on it.

Poorly run business

Reviewed on 2020-12-21T18:40:30

TLDR: The leadership at this company is not putting any noticeable effort in to providing betterpurchasing opportunities for out-of-stock items (which is everything; everything is out of stock and has been for 5+ months). I won't put in work/time for a company who cares so little about new customers, regardless of their reputation or quality products. I'm going with Rogue Fitness instead - might cost me 10% more and I'll have to wait a bit, but I'm guaranteed to get the products I want without having to keep track of ETAs and checking their site everyday. If you've decided to go with REP for your fitness equipment, just be prepared to check their ETA page, site and Instagram everyday for months before even having the opportunity to purchase a bench/rack/plates etc. Long version: I've been planning to drop a good chunk of money to equip my garage gym with some high quality gear. After months of research I decided to go with REP Fitness for there high quality/affordable racks, benches, plates, etc. Almost everything worth buying from their site is out of stock; which is sort of understandable due to COVID. However, we've been dealing with COVID in the U.S.A. since March-ish (approx 9 months), and REP still hasn't provided any official in-stock notifications or pre-purchase options. I've been trying to buy a rack and adjustable bench from their site for 5+ months now, and it doesn't seem to matter how early in the day I check, I can't lock any purchases down. I contacted support to see if there was anything I could do to improve my chances of getting one of these products while they were in stock, and the response I received was "Follow us on Instagram". No email or text options, no ideal time to check for in-stock items, no pre-order or reserve options; just Instagram and luck. If you follow their Instagram page you get mostly posts that show off their nice products which is great for marketing, but for every post there are at least 2 comments that say something like "Nice! But when will it be available again...." or "Is this in stock yet??". At the end of the day I don't care if I need to wait for a quality product, but I'm not going to put in work everyday for a small chance of buying a product that I can get elsewhere, especially when the leadership at this company clearly hasn't prioritized getting business from new customers. They must see stock selling out and think they are winning, but many new customers are turning to other options. They obviously have a decent marketing team though, so they'll probably read this: My advice - get your sales people off their bums, and have them start doing some actual work like handling timely mass email/text notifications for.... - When a truck is expected and what's items are expected to be included. - When said truck arrives, "Truck is here! Our site is being updated as it's unloaded!" - When items are available "AB5000 is in, only 10 left, go go go!" ...instead of waiting months for your software development team to make it all automated. For those that made it this far, I went with Rogue Fitness. Yeah they are more expensive, but they know how to run a damn business while still providing high quality products

These guys are awesome

Reviewed on 2020-11-13T17:51:19

These guys are awesome. For context, I ordered a couple of 10 lb Olympic plates from another small fitness company 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received them.Four days ago, I ordered an AB5000 from Rep - the best bench there is, btw. They shipped it the next day and it arrived 2 days later. A 100 lb bench to Maryland from Colorado in 3 days is pretty awesome, given the state of the home gym market during the pandemic. Also, the military discount is much appreciated. I will definitely be returning to Rep in the future!
