Extremely unhappy. My son was able to make a payment on Google play of £100 even though the funds were not in the account and santander says that's acceptable.Allowing my account to go over its overdraft by £100. This definitely shouldn't be authorised in any circumstances. Allowing their customer to go into debt. When contacting the customer service and complaints team they say this isn't their responsibility its card payment promise pay regardless if the funds if the funds are available in your account.

I used their tool to check my eligibility for Everyday Credit Card. They sent me an email saying:"We’ve checked the information you gave us and you’re likely to be accepted for Everyday Credit Card with a credit limit of £3600." I applied after getting this email. And guess what happened? After few days, I received this from them: "We've reviewed your application and unfortunately we can't offer you a credit card at this time." Just imagine how wonderful this Bank is in wasting customers' time. Why they simply didn't say you are not eligible in the first place?

Had enough of this bank doing what they like. On tuesday afternoon i use an atm outside tesco and i put my pin in and it says incorrect pin.I didnt think anything of it as i had rushed putting the pin in so i gave it another go.... again incorrect pin number. At this point i knew something wasnt right as i know that was the correct pin number. So i decided to cancel my transaction and try another atm, so i pushed the cancel button and a message on the screen unable to perform operation, please contact you card issuer. I waited at the machine and nothing happened apart from atm screen going back to normal. I returned to my car as the kids were there and called the bank straight away. About 15mins and i was through to cancel my card but whilst i was on the phone to the bank there was a atm withdrawal of £160 plus a fee of 99p. This was in the same area i was at the time but not the atm i was at as the one i went to was a tesco and was free to use. I explained everything to the agent and they blocked my card and issued another one. Completed a claim form and told me that i will be refunded the money within 48hours. I wasnt happy i had to wait that long but at the same time i only had 2 days to go. Im a single parent to 4 kids and that £160 was all i had until the 16th. So Thursday came, no money, the agent who dealt with me first didnt log anything or order me a new card.so this agent orders the card and puts the claim in. I expressed that i couldnt wait any longer and ive already waited 48 hours. They wouldnt budge on that decision and i thought speaking to a manager would help but how wrong i was again. So another 48hours and its Saturday, surprise, surprise still no money, so i call up again and this time im told that my claim says something different to what happened. The claim said atm didnt dispense cash so had to cancel the claim and start again. So by end of conversation advised another 48hours. Check my account Monday morning and the moneys in. Thought to myself brilliant i can go shopping. Kids are delighted ready to go shopping. They asked for their pocket money i agreed. Ready to go and need to transfer money to other account as still no card. Its gone. They took it back off me because its a refund for the wrong claim put in and i would have to get refund from a different department which could take up to 40 working days. They don't care who you are or if your kids starve. Make countless errors and do nothing to put it right. So unprofessional, they should be shut down .

They need to improve or give up. My Father spent a frustrating 4 hours on the phone after his on line banking facility logged him out and refused to accept his login details as valid.He has been using the same details for years. He asked me to assist as he gave up with the unhelpful people at Santander. I was able to navigate their resetting your login process with great difficulty - at one point it refused to accept the new password + repeat were identical even though they were - I had to go round that loop about 5 times before their system accepted they were the same. To be honest I'm not surprised their IT systems are rubbish, I used to work for an IT company that supported them when they were Abbey National, some of what I saw was very worrying indeed - My Father is about to move to another bank with much a better customer service reputation.

I’m so annoyed at Santander, they’ve locked my joint account with no correspondence from them as to why and won’t tell me anything about it,my rent money is now going to be late and overcharged due to this! Definitely closing my account with them

Now , I am severely disabled and so is my wife. But recently I was the object of another fraud scan.The same as last year. I have been issued a new card but although I had my daughter activate the card , I was not able to use the card. as on changing my payment type on Morrisons, Santander kept on sending POP-Ups online stopping me from using the card or registering it to Morrisons, We shall go without food. Damn awful service. 3 hours of trying.

Worst bank ever -the message on the Internet about CS opening hours is below: "Call our Online Banking helpdesk on 0800 917 9170,or +44 1908 238 013 from outside the UK. Available from 7am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 9pm Sundays". - tried to call ( is 6.51 UK time) and they are closed ( call on our opening hours the answering machine says). Also seems to be the only bank in the UK who doesn't open on Saturday, so, those working Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm when are we supposed to go to to the bank to resolve issues which must be solved in a branch?
