Industry needs a new standard

Siteminder used to be the industry standard. In the last year, their support has been terrible,they have added a product called Demand Plus to which they sign up properties automatically, and leave their customers with billing problems. The system itself seems to be becoming unreliable to me. A year ago I would have recommended them without hesitation, but now I would consider other options first.

They say one thing on the phone and then change their mind to suit them. See text in email below: To: support at siteminder.co.uk Subject: Re: Attn: Harry Tucker regarding SiteMinder case #04884699 [ref:_00D208Nvl._5004G2GMjnL:ref ] Good morning Jana If this is the way Siteminder works then I think it best that we will have to look at cancelling, as I only deal with companies that stick to their word. As advised already: I asked the question; “when does charging for Siteminder begin”? The response was that : “charging will only be dated as from when onboarding is complete and everything is working 100%” This was a verbal agreement which you can verify by listening to the conversation on the phone. For Siteminder to now renege on the terms of our agreement is totally unacceptable and if this is how you treat your customers from day 1 then we will have to consider moving back to our previous channel manager, Roomcloud, who had a better attitude to customer service. I suggest you bring this matter to the attention of your CEO and Sales director as I am sure they would like to know that they are running a company with zero ethics and principles.

We have been with siteminder for years but their service has finally deteriorated to a degree that we will use others.Today I found they had suspended my account over a paltry bill for commission which was unpaid. This was incorrectly billed but rather than investigate properly they suspended all my services which meant that I could no longer receive bookings and I was likely to be double booked as agency websites were not updated. allover a few quid when I had paid £1000 for the channel manager service which should be entirely separate to their commission.

The Good points. Dreadful customer service, empty promises, no outside of hours helpline, unknowledgeable staff,lies, lies and more lies The Bad points. More of the above but sugar coated. I'm not going to waste more time ranting on about aspects or incidents that have occurred as this will take hours, but i'll say this. Do not expect these guys to provide you with the support or up to date reliable, quality software to run your hotel business. You're better off hiring clowns from a circus. At least they'll bring a smile to your face
