Lately they are making payroll more burdensome

I have been with SurePayroll for about 16 months. The process for a check is easy enough and my employee hasn't complained about not getting paid.However, they have continuous issues properly filing and paying taxes. When I receive a notice about this, I contact them and the best they can do is say they will get back to me in 15 business days. All the while, on at least one occasion, penalties and interest were accruing. Rather than relieving the administrative burden of payroll taxes, now I have to call both them and the state when something is wrong so I am not assessed further penalties while they get around to looking into it. Today, though I have paid my fees on time and in full and though they have dutifully deducted the tax amounts from my account over the past year, I had to file my own paperwork with the state because SurePayroll had not.
Every time I call, I am reminded of their "award winning" customer service multiple times while I am on hold for 30 minutes. They have not earned any awards in my dealings with them and I question which organization gave them this alleged award.

UPDATE: Though they responded to this review and told me to contact their support team and that they would work "as quickly as possible," four days have gone by since I reached out (yet again) and they are still failing to even communicate with me about what steps they have taken to remedy this issue. Clearly, they were not sincere in their response.

SECOND UPDATE: Initially, this was a 2 star review. I have taken away a star based on the continued ineptitude when it comes to their tax department. I finally heard back from the tax department today. Their response was "Not our problem." In mid-2020 (under their service), one of the taxing agencies rejected a filing. They contacted me (it was an issue on the tax department side) and I corrected. Ignoring the fact that they should have been the one to correct that issue with the State, I then contacted SurePayroll to let them know the issue was corrected. This was in September. Since then, they have managed to file withholding tax returns (which is what had the issue). However, they failed to file unemployment tax returns - again, even though they were deducting the amounts due from my bank account. It wasn't until I received a notice from the Workforce Commission that I was made aware of this failure. Basically, it looks like they are trying to make it look like anyone's fault but their own even though they admit that they were told all issues were resolved. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and NO ATTEMPT to work through to a resolution.

We are a small organization that has expanded to the Americas with a new office. We selected Sure Payroll in mid 2020.During our first payroll run, we discovered that our HR team that is not in the US was unable to access our account, and we needed to run it from the Americas with non-HR staff. This was described as a minor problem and easy to resolve by Sure Payroll. They asked us for our IP address from our overseas office - which we furnished the NEXT day. Then crickets - for over FIVE months. Repeated attempts to get them to respond have been frustrating and fruitless. Worst support I have ever seen - yet they still are emailing us to sign up for their 401K program. Seriously?? They have 2 stars from us because the platform isn't horrible; it's just when you need support that they fall off the map, apparently.

i like the people in their customer service department. even with the current difficult circumstances and working environment,i never had to wait for too long on each call. and all of them are very kind and professional. i was especially impressed with one lady by the name is samara. she was not only kind, she was also more knowledgeable than all the others. instead of going through the routine checkbox and kicking the issue down the road to tech department again, she was the first and the only one who said "you know there is more than way to skin the cat!" and she provided me with the ultimate solution when the online mechanism just does not work even after 5 calls and 5 service reps. i really appreciate that! as for the website itself, it is easy for me as i have a very tiny business and only a few employees. i do not do anything but just pay. so i cannot comment on other functions. i did have problem terminating the service (as my business is seasonal).

Using SurePayroll for our outpatient clinic was one of the best decisions we made. When we first signed up,Devin Trout helped with the transition and walked us through our first payroll. It was great to have direct deposit available for our small staff of nine. Then when COVID-19 came about they were the first ready with a Webinar informing small businesses of how to apply for help, even before I could get help from the SBA or my bank!
