My review copied from Apple App Store, review started early 2019:-
Works better on iPhone but is a right pain on iPad.Continuously disconnects and then get “The VPN sever did not respond”, time and time again. Tried TunnelBear recommendations but no joy. Their online support pages are next to useless. I’m seriously thinking that the subscription was a big waste of money. I am typing this without the VPN connected via my ISP connection as it still won’t connect.
Update: The service seems to have significantly improved since I wrote the initial review so boost from 1 to 4 stars and see how it goes!!
8-Jun-19, back to two stars. The improvement didn’t last long. Extensive exchanges with tech support helped a little but still drops out from time to time and then takes ages to reconnect. Just happened now, dropped out for around 2 minutes, that’s why I am updating this review.
9-Jun-19, now down to one star! Have been trying to connect through TunnelBear for over 5 minutes! Connect on demand set but the TunnelBear app just keeps flipping quickly between Connecting... and Disconnected, however I am connected to the internet via my ISP so no VPN protection. Totally unreliable and a big waste of money!
10-Aug-19, Worse than ever!! Since this latest update it is dropping out time after time after time. I have had cases where the app shows ‘connected’ even after closing and reopening but there wasn’t a VPN: to check an IP lookup showed the ISP IP! That is just the worst of the issues.
3-Jul-20, The app *had* settled down and I was considering bumping up to 4-star but... The latest release is useless!! I am annoyed that I renewed for another year thinking that all was well but as I said not!! The VPN frequently drops out when connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot both on my iPhone and iPad for no apparent reason. Also if I move from one hotspot to another, the VPN tries to reconnect before the new connection is fully operational and so it obviously fails, however once failed it doesn’t retry! I am left disconnected. The app has to be opened to reconnect and then, most times, it does it without any need to activate. However, sometimes it is necessary to manually activate. So now down to 1-star as it is not protecting reliably.
4-Oct-20, I couldn’t face wasting more time with tech support over an issue that shouldn’t even have existed so I have now abandoned TunnelBear. Ok so I have wasted 5 months subscription but they you go, I cut my losses. The final straw was getting a 403 error when visiting the Wickes.co.uk website no matter which country was selected. Let’s see if ExpressVPN can do any better. I can certainly get to Wickes without an error; and the first nine hours so far with no dropouts! I would have had at least four with TunnelBear in that time!
14-Feb-21: My ExpressVPN experience has been seamless, always connects and connects quickly, tend to forget it’s there. No, I do not have any financial interest in ExpressVPN, no reason to rate them apart from getting a quality service, they were just a lucky second choice of VPN supplier for me. If you don’t like me naming ExpressVPN in this review then let me know and I will remove. I am not advertising for them after all.

Signed up for a year. Went to use. Won't take password. Sends me to a 'user banned' page. Cannot phone,only email, but the web form won't allow email to be sent.

Great service. Easy to set up, easy to use, the extension works as expected but the app is horrendous.Fails to connect a lot of the time so I have resorted to using just the extension on my browser.

They have stuff for a Marxist group all over their site but it makes sense I guess seeing as they areprobably using tunnel bear service to spew all their hate and arrange their "peaceful protests" there are so many VPN services out there don't use this one!
