1 star is a bit too much for this…

Reviewed on 2021-05-17T15:02:18

1 star is a bit too much for this company. When the freestyle sensors work, they are great, but this isn't very often, faulty sensor after faulty sensor. I got my sensor changed by them only for the next one also to be faulty. An order was made for more but time, and time again, this company is not interested in getting the devices to their customers. Or what moving away from these devices (through no fault of our own) can do to people's diabetes management. It is a struggle for me to move back to finger pricking, and it takes me a few days to get them under control. Yet my bank account is lighter, and this company does not care one bit. Weak excuse after weak excuse. Maybe if their staff stuck to the same excuse, then it would be more believable. Anyone thinking about purchasing a CGM product should consider Dexcom. This device is slightly more expensive, but you pay for the quality of the device and great customer service. I will be sticking with them in the future once my remaining Freestyle sensors have either become faulty or run out. I expect it will be because they are faulty

Terrible Customer Service

Reviewed on 2021-05-09T17:06:07

Terrible Customer Service. When a sensor does not work, you are on hold for a long time, you are interrogated a la FBI and all with an attitude as if it really is all up to the customer. Only the product is of poor quality. Unfortunately they have a monopoly in the Netherlands. This will probably result in a reply from Abbott asking to call customer service, but that's just a standard action to protect their reputation.

Abbott does not disclose the fact that…

Abbott does not disclose the fact that the freestyle Libre2 does not have an app. I had to find out it is “incompatible” with my iPhone 10 after paying cash, opening, wearing and scanning. Later I learn it is not “incompatible” but rather, the app is not fda approved. You would think a sticker on the box could alert customers that they will need to buy a scanner too! Customer Service has no empathy and sees nothing deceptive about this non-disclosure. Shame on you Abbott for your lack of transparency and arrogance.

Terrible and very dangerous experience…

Reviewed on 2021-03-26T17:34:59

Terrible and very dangerous experience with Abbott sensors So far I have used 12 sensors and they allconnected with my I-Phone 8+ well,it gives an alarm when the limits are reached which is fantastic and I am totally now relying on that. Three days ago I installed a new sensor which refused to communicate with my IPhone, tried many things but no luck, so I started to use the Abbott reader for the first time, it reads the values well but does not give alarms. Calling Abbott I was told I have the wrong reader, I have a black one but need to use a blue one. Nobody ever told me about this, but here is the real and dangerous problem. As I activated the sensor with the reader, I cannot have alarms for the next 14 days and I expect the ambulance will be called out a few times. It takes 14 days to get a new reader. What a mess with thanks to Abbott. Next week I see my specialist at UMCG and together with him I am going to decide whether to continue or not with this Abbott drama.

Extremely frustrating experiences with Abbott...

Reviewed on 2021-02-03T16:41:38

I sent a request for a replacement of my FreeStyle Freedom light meter to Abbott Diabetes Care on January 12,2021. Today is February 3, 2021, and I have not received the replacement despite writing several emails to Abbott. On January 16 Abbott wrote to me: "Your replacement order (21665125 ) has been placed and is currently being processed by our warehouse team. You should expect delivery by 1st class Royal Mail within 1-3 days." 18 days have passed in the meantime and the replacement has not arrived. A normal Royal Mail delivery (a book) posted on Saturday, January 30 from England was delivered to me on February 2. I sent several emails marked "urgent" to Abbott but haven't received any response. In my emails, I gave a detailed review of what happened. In 2018 a similar incident with Abbott customer care happened. Two weeks before my departure to Mexico I had problems with my Freestyle light measuring device and asked for a replacement. It didn't arrive in time for my departure. As I live in the countryside in Scotland it was difficult to get a replacement before my departure to Mexico.

Terrible customer service

Reviewed on 2020-07-15T09:52:16

Terrible customer service. Very petty. They will take revenge on you for questioning them.Example- they delayed one of my replacement deliveries due to "logistics" (no other reason given). Okay, let's assume that's honest. However, there was no apology or even empathy to my situation (a diabetic who has no other way to test), nor any indication of when the order *might* be ready. So I reverted back to test strips and wrote customer service an email essentially telling them how poor they are and if they even care about their customers (spoiler alert: they don't). No response. When the package finally goes out, they only send it as far as the local post office for pickup. Whereas every other before came right to my door. Again, petty. Oh well, screw me, right?
