Airtasker allows scammers and shonky operators to offer services on its platform with no accountability.Airtasker has NO way of contacting them via phone or email, if you have a problem and don't respond to submitted online reports. Airtasker is a company that SCAMMED me out of $324.00 for a non-completed task, where the tasker was 'no show' and stopped responding to communication. So, I was forced to cancel the task, wait 48hrs for the money Airtasker debited and held as "pending" from my bank account to be returned to my account so that I could hire someone more reliable than "Justin L." But, instead of Airtasker CREDITING my account for a non-completed job, they DEBITED my account and the money is gone!!! Airtasker is nothing more than scammers supporting other scammers. I've now reported FRAUD with the bank and respective authorities. Avoid at all cost.
p.s. Airtasker reply is "a special kind of stupid". Credit for a cancelled job can be used for next job IF it is still unprocessed for the original job. In my case, Airtasker processed the payment transaction for a cancelled "no show" job so the money was no longer available and my bank advised to lodge a payment dispute case. Airtasker takes NO responsibility for stealing my money and acknowledges no fault on their part whatsoever.

I am a new tasker on this platform. I List all the details on my quote. Once I finished the job,the poster refused to pay the money and report us threat her. And, then my account is restricted for 12month. It is really unfair for tasker. We finish the job well however we can not get the payment and my account is restricted. I wish the support team can investigate the trust and give me a fair treatment.

Do not trust the stars on the Airtasker. No matter the situation even if the person cancels on you the same day you don't get to review them.And all AirTasker does when you complain is sending you generic bot generated response.
Had a removalist cancelling 10 minutes before the arranged time (booked weeks before and confirmed 2 days before again). They would not response on Airtasker and had blocked us on their phone. There was no bad blood between us what so ever either.
We had to vacate on the day and had to pay more than twice the price to get the only willing team we found to come from 80ks away and the person doing that gets to keep all the stars. And we did reach out to Airtasker support few times only to get generic bot messages back so don't trust what their admin here suggests either.
Unless your task is absolutely trivial do yourself a favour and don't use Airtasker

Have been let down by 3 Airtaskers in a week, gardener “car trouble” cleaner messed me around for two days and then wanted to come at 6pm on a Friday night and handyman team wife and husband.Firstly had “car trouble” then just didn’t respond to messages and decided not to show. Once cancellation has happened your unable to leave a review to warn others of their incompetence.

I recently signed up as a freelancer to 'Airtasker'. The system is terrible, its supposed to be anAustralian service yet there's spammers from lower economy countries all over with terrible grammar and English. Some of them also have fake profile pictures and even cartoon imagery, how unprofessional is that? Lastly a lot of 'taskers' have terrible completion rates, 70%! that means there is a 30% chance they will cancel/quit on you.
I'm not being racist, I'm really not. What this does is paints the whole platform as unprofessional.
I also noticed a lot of employers looking to hire freelancers on Airtasker seem very suspicious of almost everyone and who they claim to be, and its because of what I said above.
Lastly, the fact that you can see and communicate with other freelancers bidding on the same job as you, is a recipe for toxicity.

Hired a complete con-man from airtasker. Only fixed the part of the roof that was visible from the ground,and did not even touch the rear side.
Airtasker just brushed their hands by showing me their terms and conditions that they just a platform and have no responsibility. I have lost my money and they guys is out there ripping other naive people like me, who are not going to get on the roof to inspect or not very construction savvy.

I highly suggest you introduce an alternative means of receiving payment like PayPal or Transferwise,to help in case the Tasker is having problems with Bank. Please look into this issue
