What does Alamo Rent A Car do?

Founded in 1974, Alamo Rent A Car – the largest car rental provider to international travelers visiting North America – is a value-oriented, internationally recognized brand serving the rental needs of airport leisure travelers. Scammers

They give you a car with lots of damages, and when you return it they will find "new" ones and charge you an insane amount for the repair.Their customer service is terrible, they won't give any explanation about the costs. Just don't rent with them, they only want to steal money from you.

Worst experience ever.

Worst experience ever. Rented a car in Miami for 2 month, returning to New York. Worst costumer service, worst road service. Had an issue with a key, couldn't get any help for 4 hours on phone!!! Been told we have a toll road pass, what was not true and we've been charged the full price. Every talk to consumer service lasted for about 2 hours, no clear answers, each one of them gave a different information. DO NOT EVER RENT CARS with Alamo!!!

Tire Refund

My husband and I rented a vehicle from Alamo while we vacationed in Texas. We needed to purchase 2 new tires due to bubbles that form on the tires of the vehicle (due to nothing we did).It has been almost 2 months and we are still waiting for a refund. No contact whatsoever in regards to making it right for us. Very disappointed in customer service and refund due to the fact it was not caused by us

never ever .....

Reviewed on 2021-05-01T23:51:18

all the years, it has always been annoying how stuff at the counter tried to sell ‘extra’,although we always had prepaid reservations. Now even I was scammed, cause the ‘Lady’ refused to hand over the papers without ‘identifying’ (no drivers license, passport) but by credit card..... She must have used it, because the bank statement showed the EXTRA debiting. This was the last time, me or my employees will ever use alamo again. Pay your employees fair, so they don’t have to try make a little extra by fraud.

Horrible experience & Outrageous Pricing

Horrible experience. Rent a car in Raleigh NC. I wanted to change my reservation. I had to call Raleighoffice 4 times to even get someone on the phone. To change for 3 days and change destination charge was $600. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I thought the price was outrageous. Hangs up on me. I call corporate office. Get transferred to supervisor Yuria. As I am on the phone holding I check rental rates. I can rent the same size vehicle from Hertz, Avis and Budget for under $200. Yuria says sorry we can not match those rates. Horrible customer service and outrageous pricing.

NOT SANITIZED AS ADVERTISED- BEWARE

Reviewed on 2021-04-24T21:37:48

I rented a car from Alamo, most expensive car rental in Maui I have ever had, over $650 for a weekwhich was great compared to most as the costs just skyrocketed 2 weeks later than when I booked to over $1000. Ok, I get it, COVID, fewer cars, etc. I picked up my rental to find a nice hangtag on the mirror outlining all the steps they had taken to make sure my car was clean. Another paper in my packet also stating that, and yet one more given to us by the person checking us out. We are no more than 2 minutes out of the garage, I open the glove compartment to put the papers in there as I usually do, only to find used tissues and garbage in there!!! Seriously? They spent a fortune to print materials about how diligent they are to details of cleanliness, even noting the fact they clean out the dash compartment, and I find someone's gross garbage? Add to this that the car smells horribly from body odor, and every time we get into he car and it is warmer, it stinks so badly we have to open windows. All this for $650? In COVID times I would like to trust that people take cleaning seriously--well they clearly take ADVERTISING SERIOUSLY, spending far more on materials than on people to actually clean the way they advertise they do. Shame on you ALAMO. I will not rent ever again from you. I hope others see this and check their cars first before leaving. If you cant remove obvious garbage, how do I know you actually sanitized the wheel? The seats? The door handles? or anything? Especially since this car stinks a week later.

ALAMO terrible customer service

Reviewed on 2021-04-22T18:38:21

We rented a car from Alamo at the Palm Springs Airport. We waited a good half hour while the line of customers grew and grew.We asked the National and Enterprise agents if they knew anything, and they did not. Finally, the National agent got us our car. When we got the car, it only had 3/4 of a tank of gas in it, but seeing as how there was no Alamo agent to talk to AND WE HAD NOW SPENT 45 MINUTES TRYING TO GET OUR CAR, we took it anyway. NO ALAMO AGENT EVER SHOWED UP THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE.
