California Innovations began in Toronto in 1986. The first product we launched was an automotive sun shield. As a promotional item to include with the sun shield, we developed a soft sided cooler that collapsed. The sun shield business didn't last, but the Original Collapsible Cooler proved to be the start of something big.
Our passion for innovation has always been what defines us. We pride ourselves on bringing new ideas to the marketplace faster than any of our competitors and hold numerous design and utility patents.
All of this innovation has resulted in our becoming the worldwide market leader in soft-sided, insulated products.
In 2005, we acquired Arctic Zone, a leading Chicago-based insulated products company started in 1989 that shared our vision for innovation.
Together, we have a long history of "firsts" that have enriched the soft sided, insulated products category including: the first soft sided collapsible cooler, insulated lunch bag, removable hard plastic liners, collapsible rolling cooler, zipperless cooler and more. In addition to our Toronto headquarters, we have offices in Chicago, Montreal and Shenzhen. Our office environment is friendly and laid back. Dress is casual (jeans), dogs are abundant and work hours are flexible.
