Unlucky - bad monitor. Lucky - BenQ have excellent service

Reviewed on 2021-01-07T15:39:24

I bought a monitor through a UK distributor, but found it suffered from issues with screen blanking. After arduously spending some time eliminating all other possibilities, and much hair-tearing, I realised it was the monitor, and after some initial difficulty, BenQ agreed to RMA for a firmware update. After this, it continued to suffer from the same issue, so they agreed to replace it, which finally resolved the issue. Unfortunately the replacement unit had a bunch of dead pixels. They immediately agreed to replace this unit. In short - although there was a hurdle in getting them to admit responsibility initially, from then on there was no quibbling or attempting to wriggle out of things as I had expected, and their service partner offered excellent service. In short - I'd happily buy from BenQ again, as they continue to support their customers beyond initial sale, and would more than recommend their products and buy from them again. Very happy.

Great customer support & products!

Reviewed on 2020-12-11T13:12:52

Bought a Benq EW3270U from a retailer but I was slightly disappointed with the backlight bleed,so I contacted the (Dutch) Benq customer support to ask what I could do to reduce it. I got a reply within 24 hours with a option to get it replaced and picked up at home, when I asked how long it would take because I work from home they made a exception to exchange at the door so I don’t have to wait for the new one and could continue working. In summary the help desk did a wonderful job, something a lot of other brand would not do so 5 stars from me. And the replacement product worked as it should so I’m very happy.

BENQ monitor warning.

Reviewed on 2020-09-09T16:27:50

BENQ monitor purchase just over 20 months ago. I thought it was excellent until it died last week.I phoned the support number [UK]. Was asked to fill in the forms etc and this was acknowledged. Since then zilch! What is the use of a fast computer without a Monitor? Their UK telephone support is closed. Their website requires RMA - number whatever that is: I have tried different permutations = zilch. Almost £300 for a 32-inch monitor that packs-up in 20 months is not a good deal. Plus all the trouble of trying to get a repair. Will have to buy a non-China monitor asap. I am avoiding Chinese products in future as all they do is fill up our landfill. UPDATE...... Eventually, BenQ sent out a "power lead"; to the wrong address of course; This KETTLE LEAD did not even have the correct fitting plug to fit the AC/DC adaptor which was probably the problem!! Do not bother with this incompetent company. Their prices may be enticing but you pay dearly in the end as their support is awful. AVOID. TIP to the unaware - checkout Consumer Rights Act 2015 - Legislation.gov.uk. Goods should last 6years?

I just purchased the new W2700 4k home…

Reviewed on 2019-05-29T08:57:42

I just purchased the new W2700 4k home cinema projector. All in all, it's a solid piece of tech.Impressive image quality which I won't get into here as there are dedicated sites for that. I will have to update my AV Amp to 4k which was planned so my impressions are only made via an older HD amp. While I wait for that purchase, I have to say it's lovely. My Sky box does NOT like it but that's ok as I'm about to cut the cord. The issue there seems to be the live HD signal and it makes the image drag a little which isn't good. The projector creates more noise than I expected - I thought it would be quieter, but again, I can live with that for the size and the technology crammed in. When powering off, there is a slightly concerning ticking that lasts for about a minute - not too reassuring. I see the customer service gets poor ratings - I hope I don't have the same experience if the time comes. Happy for now though. UPDATE. The noise is driving me mad now. I’m not sure whether this is due to the fact that this was purchased right at release and there are issues with the initial production, or it’s just the design, but it’s a considerable distraction at this point. SECOND: If you’re not using 4k, you have to go into the menu each time to switch the unit to “Silence” to get it a small bit quieter. THIRD you can’t store presets easily - the menu system is pretty awful. Regrets? Yeah, I rushed into 4k too quickly as did Benq I think. Maybe they will improve as time goes on, but my previous Epson 1080 was superior.

Worthless Warranty - Avoid BenQ & RepairTech in Southam

Reviewed on 2019-01-22T15:57:53

Worthless Warranty - Avoid BenQ & RepairTech in Southam I bought a BenQ GW2765HE/27 from Ebuyer September 2018.It had a fault from new when PC put the monitor to sleep, the monitor woke up and flashed blue saying "No Signal Detected" every 20s. My Dell monitor did not have this issue. Option. Return for repair and be without a monitor for a month or exchange for a refurbished unit. I opted for the latter. 1st Replacement - (RMA) number is: I05A7E The older refurbished unit resolved the problem above, but the screen wasn't fitted properly into the frame and the backlights were loose behind the screen, perhaps dropped and damaged in transit, Since then 2nd Replacement - (RMA) number is: I05E25 I have received another refurbished unit, newer, with the same fault as the original, had to send video's to prove it was the monitor at fault. 3rd Replacement - (RMA) number is: I06187 December, a 3rd replacement arrived, without paperwork and had clearly been dropped heavily on both ends. The driver couldn't deliver without paperwork and I wouldn't have accepted it if he had tried. 4th Replacement - (RMA) number is: I05E25 January a 4th replacement arrived, this time the updated model (GW2765HT - identical spec and appearance, more power efficient), it too was a 'refurbished' unit. Covered in finger marks, some hardened gunk splattered and dried onto the screen and missing the butterfly nut that attaches the base to the stand. Astonishing that a monitor in such a poor and unusable conditioned was allowed to be shipped out. 5th Replacement - (RMA number) is: J003D1 Jan 15th, BenQ offered to send a 5th replacement (6th monitor in total) this time a New GW2765HT. I don't know if this will have the same error as the original monitor I bought as it seems to have been introduced into their latest firmware. It's a week since the above promise and still no email from DPD arranging the exchange date. Jan 28th Received 5th replacement, a brand new, GW2765HT, box been dropped a couple of times but the monitor was undamaged, however, it has the same firmware fault as the original. 4 months later and still don't have a monitor fit for purpose. The Title - Worthless Warranty This reflects the fact that the time taken to do all of the testing, videoing and exchange of 93 emails! and take time off work to receive the deliveries has cost me far more than the monitor I have asked multiple times for a refund to save both of us this saga, I have been without a working monitor since 4 months and BenQ / Repairtech have been trying to resolve this issue for 3 months and counting. They won't even consider extending the warranty by the 3 months I have been without a monitor. The warranty and therefore the Monitor is not fit for purpose, BenQ outsources their warranty repairs to a company called Repairtech, as does Samsung. In December I had a Samsung phone repaired by an official Samsung dealer (Repairtech also, this time in Wembley), they were fantastic. literally, 5* service and a left a review on Google to confirm this. The Repairtech center that does the BenQ official warranties, however, couldn't be much worse, my only good comment is the customer service representative Lily has been nothing but polite, responsive and understanding. The Repairtech facility in question is located in; Unit 4B Westfield Road Kineton Road Industrial Estate Southam Warwickshire CV47 0JH. In My opinion, this repair facility is best avoided, along with BenQ and any other companies they do warranty repairs for.

worst support ever!

Reviewed on 2018-06-15T14:39:58

Do not buy a BenQ monitor! The monitor was fine when we received it, but after a total of approximately 5 hours of usage over a few days the monitor "broke" (white stripes across the screen)and we entered the nightmare of BenQ support. 1) you create a RMA case on their website. 2) you get an email stating that they created a RMA case with a ticket number, and a message that you "shortly will receive an email with a freight label" 3) you wait and wait and wait, 4) some days later you write back and let them know they have a freaky definition of shortly, asking for guidance on how to proceed 5) you wait wait and wait 6) you loose patience and call them to hear what the H... is going on Answer, if you did not receive the email, then we had an error on our system, and we will get to you, when we get to you in our pile, hopefully tomorrow... 7) wait wait and some more wait 8) they reply back on email from point nr4, sorry you got wrong message we will send you an replacement monitor and freight papers for the defect one 9) wait wait wait 10) loose patience and call them again They had ordered a new unit to be delivered to them so they can send it to me ... hopefully next week... (Makes you wonder, when I buy it I get it in 2 days, on a replacement it takes forever, and why not just ship the replacement directly to me in the first place?) 11) Still waiting ... 12) get frustrated and writes review on Trustpilots, cause they are a nightmare to work with, and I truly recommend you to avoid BenQ

Error in model number and bad specified

Reviewed on 2016-10-18T07:32:22

Bought an XL2411Z gaming monitor. The package had product NAME set to "XL2411Z" but had MODEL number "XL2411-B".Calling BenQ support on phone 82332719 for the Danish support gave a Sweedish speaking person. The label on the package showed a lot of specifications, but not the vertical refresh rate of 144Hz, which is one of the main reasons for buying this model. It is not possible to search by serial number on the benq website to find the specifications yourself. All in all not very professional. I can only give it two stars.
