Still up for debate, but not looking good.

-Hello, I have used Wikibuy for maybe about 3 years, they are now Capitaloneshopping.com I haven'thad many problems with them out of the ordinary but this time because this is not advertised on their website, I felt the need to report it. The deal is, you make an approved purchase with them, You get points, you can redeem the points for a gift card on their website. Within 24 hours, you should receive the gift card information in your email. And that is how it's been the few times I have redeemed the gift cards. Not this time. I made an extremely large purchase and was able to receive credits for it. I redeemed $25 dollars on a Walmart gift card and the information arrived within 7 hours. no problem. 3 days later, I tried to redeem 2 other gift cards of higher value, around 400 dollars and I got the same message: "Success! Thanks for ordering an e-gift card. Your order is being processed. It can take up to 24 hours for retailers to process your information. This page will update with redemption information when available, and you will also receive an email with redemption instructions." Over 3 days have passed and no gift card information. I reached out to support who gave me a copy-paste message about it actually taking !! 60 days!!! to process a gift card. their reply was: Your eGift Card redemption is currently on hold pending confirmation of your Credits from the merchant. Credits may be pending while still within the order return or cancellation window. Credits can be on hold for up to 60 days. This verification period varies by retailer (the merchant associated with the Credits issuance, not that of the eGift Card). As soon as your Credits balance is confirmed, your eGift Card order will be processed. That is NOWHERE on their website or in their legal terms. I have read, re-read, and completey combed over everything on the webiste and in their terms and nothing like that is stated. I have reached out to the "merchants" (in this case Walmart and Ebay) who have both said that verification of gift cards are almost instantaneous if not within 24 hours. Which I believe because every other time I have gotten a gift card from Wikibuy/ capital one, the Egift cards had come within that 24 hour period. So my question is who is the "merchant" they are speaking of in this email? It couldn't be who I am getting the gift cards from. I am upset not (only) because it will now take two months to get an egift card, but because they stated I would have the egift card within 24 hours (no mention of 60 days) I won a bid on ebay (one of the merchants you can but a gift card from through wikibuy) and since the gift card did not come within the promised 24 hours, I could not pay for the item. Now my account is under review by Ebay because of this. Had it been stated within their terms or on their website that it could take up to 60 days to recieve this egift card, I would have held off on prepurchasing the item. Under the gift card purchases tab I can see a blue "show card info" button but when I press on it, there is no card info. The button takes me to the merchant I redeemed the card from (either walmart or ebay) and then nothing. no card info other than when I submitted the redemption.  So I am not sure if this is a website issue or what but I am very unhappy with this situation. Especially since my account is now under review on Ebay, because their advertising was misleading.

Very Dishonest Company!

Reviewed on 2020-11-13T11:28:17

I've been using their browser extension for quite a while now (probably a year or longer)and just went to redeem my 'savings' to purchase a Walmart gift card. Well, here's where the dishonesty comes into play. They ask for your credit card so they can "verify your identity". The message says something like 'we'll make a charge for $1 and immediately remove it, it's just to verify your identity'. So, I put in my info and they made the charge on my AmEx (I immediately visited the AmEx site to verify this). THEN, I got a "There was a problem with your payment method. Please try adding a different card and try again" on the CapitalOne site. But, there was no problem. I'm sitting here looking at the charge on my AmEx right now. So, I decide to try it again and the same thing happens. Tell me how this isn't a SCAM? They get my data from online shopping and I'm sure they monetize it (either sell it, or use it themselves). Then they don't pay off on the savings that we accumulate. And we're only talking about $11.13 here. It's not much UNTIL you think about how many Millions of people they have using this service. And, I DO HAVE screenshots of the phony Capital One message as well as the charge they put on my 'problem' AmEx card. I can factually back this statement up with screenshots.
