Why do they make everything so difficult?!

Reviewed on 2021-05-21T22:02:17

A month ago I overnight mailed all required documentation to transfer shares and included a cover letter.I followed up 2 weeks later and was told yes they received everything and that there weren't any notes in the system indicating that there was a problem, so "she" told me she would put a rush on it or that they needed to contact me if there was a problem. Another 2 weeks pass and I follow up again. I spoke with a person named (I'll call her Ms. A) after reading the notes in her system seemed a little confused about what was going on, so I asked to speak with her supervisor. She transferred me to (I'll call him Mr. B) who informed be "just yesterday they mailed me something". He told me, I mailed in a screen shot and that the calculations didn't add up to the number of shares. The number he kept saying was not what I indicated on the forms. I explained to him, I am looking at the form that I mailed in (because I made a copy) and that at the bottom it states print and mail, I clicked that button and the paper that printed out, I mailed. Next I am looking at the total amounts and that does not add up to the amount he indicated. I told him I even included a cover letter that states the amount of shares which corresponds with the totals on the forms. Next "issue" he informed me that if I wanted to do a Transfer on Death account like I indicated that they would 1st need to set it up as an individual account them mail me forms to fill out and I'll have to send them back changing it to a TOD account. I explained to him that on the original forms I filled out and sent it that was an option, (again I have a copy of the form that I mailed) when they sent me other forms that TOD option wasn't there however I indicated it as "other" on the form. He said okay, I'll see what I can do but that is was business decision to remove that option on the form. I said thank you but when will I know. He said he has my number he would try to call me back later, he WAS helpful. I explained that I would like something a little more definitive only because I haven't had any communication acknowledging any of the submission going back to the original one in March. Nothing. I asked to speak with his supervisor, he told he wasn't available but could put in a request to have him call me but said he was out for the week. So I asked to speak to that persons supervisor. I asked that he escalate this to someone that could resolve today. After nearly an hour on the phone being transferred and hold with Computershare he transferred me to someone (I'll call Ms C.) 1st thing I ask her was did Mr. B fill you in or would you like me to? She said he did. And said it appears that he is doing everything and that there isn't anyone else to speak with. Initially, she sounded as though she was the same level as him because she kept telling me she couldn't do anything more than he could do. When I asked her if she was the same level, she said no but she couldn't do anything either and that it would take 3-5 days for her to research. She was actually even less help the Mr. B. ATTENTION ALL BUSINESS OWNERS AND CORPORATE OFFICES, when you take away the power of your employees to use common sense to resolve simple issues - that's not good business practice or customer service! When you don't communicate with customers, that not good business practice. (example no acknowledgement or receipt on the package and PLEASE DO NOT USE COVID AS AN EXCUSE!) NOTE: I waited to the end of the day to post this review and would also like it noted that I did not receive a call later today as Mr. B informed me he would.

Disgraceful

Disgraceful. Stated "Helpline" on recently received letter turns out to be a "not recognised" i.e.bogus number. Meanwhile, calling their official, correct number simply puts you on permanent hold as per other infuriated customers. The Financial Ombudsman needs to get involved here.

I recently decided to sell some stock…

Reviewed on 2021-05-18T19:22:55

I recently decided to sell some stock where I still held some paper certificates. Believe me you’re better off turning in the certificates to a stockbroker and having them do this. But having never used ComputerShare I decided to mail them my certificates so they could be combined with my electronic shares. Once that took place I would sell the whole lot. Well it took ComputerShare two weeks to turn my paper shares into electronic shares. According to ComputerShare I had to convert my paper shares into electronic shares before they could be combined With the existing electronics shares and sold. In the intervening two weeks I lost $3000 due to a decrease in the price of the stock. Nice! In addition they didn’t send me an email notifying me that this transfer had taken place, so I waited an extra week to get a Snail mail letter from them telling me this process had been completed. But it gets better! I had wanted the proceeds wired to me. This is what I stated on the cover letter, but they completely disregarded it. So after I told them I wanted to sell my shares, I expected them to wire the proceeds to me. You guessed it they mailed them which took another week. Which resulted in a 30 day waiting period to sell my shares and receive the proceeds. If you can run from this company run as far and fast as possible. The service people should’ve said that they will not wire proceeds from a transaction if I so desired them to do so. I suggest everybody write a little review in the financial times, the Wall Street Journal, and or letting Cramer know on CSNBC about the pitiful customer service and the lowest standard of financial services I’ve ever encountered in 50 years! Normally I would write a suggestion on how to improve a company service along with my complaints. But I don’t believe that this company is worth saving.

F$ck Computershare

Reviewed on 2021-05-18T17:58:02

If i could give this company negative review I would. And excuse my language.. but its 2021 and thesepeople act like the f$cking stone age of pigeon mail and the classic "my hands are tied" bull sh!t. What company in 2021 doesnt offer an online process to reset your password. Second, 0 call center or account manager apparently have access to changing your info. So if youre locked out of your account, have fun waiting for a minimum two weeks to even get a temporary password. I HIGHLY recommend you transfer all your equity out of this company and use a professional brokerage that has at least the decency to give their customers everything they need to access their own money. In summary: f$ck computershare.. you truly need a complete gut and renovation of your business and platform

Incompetent to the extreme.

Reviewed on 2021-05-18T01:49:33

So Computershare send me (in Australia) a verification code to access my online account. This code expires in 30 days yet the mail with the code arrives in 60 days. When contacting Computershare they subsequently send out another code that takes another 60 days and in the process the new code expires expires. Computershare advise me that the verification code is sent by their mail room in regular mail that goes via France to Australia because they don't send to Australia. They refuse to allow me access to my account despite this absurd process that they say cannot be adjusted. They now offer to send by courier which will take 'around' 30 days. Helpful? NO. I have never experienced such a incompetent process and sheer stupidity in my life.
