Not sure whats happening with Contabo - ordered vps with Cpanel but no licence was in place for my cpanel so my dev couldnt access anything.Showed the following message "The cPanel license server said that a license could not be issued for your server (66)". Contacted contabo support via email and not even received a confirmation email back. Can't ring them from UK. Not sure if i should just cancel the whole thing to be honest -

High standard VPS

I am using Contabo for two months, and I am delighted. I wanted to buy my first VPS,after a few mistakes with other companies that disappointed me a lot I heard about Contabo. Their prices made me think that it's common scam or just really low quality shared server with thousands of clients on one poor machine. Due to low price I risked and bought the cheapest option: VPS 300, which is HDD based VPS. I just wanted to see control panel and overall impression (eg. support, options, management etc.). The payment with credit card and OS installation took around 5 minutes. The control panel looked a little old-fashioned (but I heard that they're working on it), but with a lot of options. The most important for me was to manage the rDNS which is available in a really easy way. The cool thing is that You get /64 IPv6 network with every VPS, so you have got A LOT of addresses available for your personal use (webpages, mail servers etc.) and for each of them it's possible to change reverse DNS entry (unfortunately there is no API to do that, so every change needs to be manual, for now). There is also a section to manage each server. It's possible to start/stop/restart, reinstall and the most important thing to rescue server. The rescue option gives the ability to boot the server into another live system like Debian and for example repair configuration or copy files (really handy option in case of emergency or mistake). It's possible to login via VNC too, but it needs to be enabled first for security reasons. This option works really good too. After a few weeks I changed my service to VPS S SSD, which is based on 200GB SSD drive. I needed more computing power. The difference in speed, even in logging via SSH, was really noticeable. Currently, I am hosting five webpages, two game servers and VPN server without any problems with performance. Support in Contabo is really helpful. It takes a few hours to get a reply, but it's always valuable help. Things to notice (these are not pros and cons, but I see them as general information): - There is logo of Contabo and short welcome text after logging into server via SSH (probably it can be removed, but it's absolutely not annoying) - The 2-factor authentication uses OTP (not email or SMS). Personally, I am using FreeOTP app from Red Hat - To enable IPv6 You need to execute a command which can be found on Contabo forums - My IPv4 is listed on UCEPROTECTL3 email blacklist. I wrote to support to ask about it, they say that they are working on it. In fact it's level 3 of this blacklist entry which in nearly every case is ignored by email servers. I can successfully send and receive (in main mailbox) emails to Gmail and Yahoo. - I have never experienced any server failures or unexpected accidents. Contabo's servers are really reliable. I hope this review was helpful.

do not repeat do not go with this hose there were overcharging double the price than what did vpsactually work I'm cancelling my order next week I'm not paying for this crap they've charged me $25 basically I paid for a fuel and I was $0.99 short I said I'll get it on Thursday and now $25 do not repeat do not go with this company
