Expedia is a company that lost its integrity

Until the pandemic, Expedia was my #1 choice for anything travel-related, but not anymore! A few months before the pandemic,I made a mistake of paying for a flight thru Expedia.ca instead of buying the ticket directly on the airline's website. The flight was eventually cancelled by the airline due to COVID-19 restrictions. Expedia declined to issue a refund citing that the airline 'didn't approve the refund'. The airline refused to help me citing that 'you should contact the place that sold you the ticket'. So, I ended up in a classic catch-22 trap. Long story short: Expedia snatched my money for a service that was not provided and refused to return the money. In layman's terms this is fraud. Be smart with your money and avoid dishonest companies like Expedia!

I would even give them the one star. Expedia has horrible customer service. The representatives that answer phones and "assist" sure put the ass in the word.They cut you off while talking and are so smug just to tell you they can't do anything. I need help rescheduling a flight and he didn't want to help at all. He would even let me talk, just kept going on and on. You guys are horrible and suck.

Expedia has become a scam

I have spent almost a week trying to get help with a fraudulent charge that appeared on my account.They have given me the runaround the whole time. The phones are no longer answered it appears. The chat is a bot only. And on FB messenger they are so inept that it has taking at least 15 messages just to get them to my account. They refuse to call me and they have now been telling me they are "figuring it out" (a fraudulent charge!) for 4 days. Today the answer is that I should cancel my credit cards (though I have multiple on the site and can't cancel them all). We deserve security and customer service. I'm done with this scam of a business.

I have been waiting to connect with customer service for 4 hours today so far. This is a scam company and they should be reported to the FBI/Police.If you book through Expedia, you run the risk of having your money stolen.

I booked the hotel with Expedia somehow my date was wrong, that wasn't the date I entered If anyone else has the same experience,please make an alert. This is so wrong. It supposes to be free cancellation. I paid for the insurance for the cancellation, they end up charging me that as well. I try to cancel my booking, the form online was not working. a phone call has been waited for so long, I am still waiting for one hour.

I booked a trip with Air Canada last year, one flight through Expedia the another one with Air Canada directly,the exact same conditions. Both flights got cancelled because of the pandemic. AC refunded me my money but I have been trying without success to get in touch with Expedia to do the same. They don't take my calls. I have been using Expedia for years and I am very disappointed. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Very disappointing experience!!! I will update my review in case Expedia.ca fixe the issue.But based on my experience I would definitely not recommend it. I have been a good client of Expedia. But because of this very bad recent experience I think I will not use it anymore. I rented a car for 1 day through Expedia.ca. But unfortunately my plan changed. So I tried to contact Expedia.ca to request cancellation and refund of my reservation fee. I contacted it through chat, then phone calls, but I couldn't reach them out. I stayed even 2h on hold once and 4 hours on hold a second time without answer to my call. Worst, on a third attempt to talk to an expedia.ca agent, I used the request to call back once one is available. I was called more than 2 hours later, but even if I pressed the button I am available to talk to an agent, I was still put on hold for more than 1 h then the call was cut abruptly while I was still on hold!!! It is very important to know that it is almost impossible to reach out to Expedia.ca costumer service. Then I called Expedia.com on April 18th morning, 21 hours prior to the expected pick up time of the reserved car rental, to get help for the cancellation and refund. The agent consulted his manager and reassured me that even if the reservation is listed as non refundable and as it can’t be canceled, he still can help me getting that me. He opened a case reference, and gives me a case reference number. I was worried as he said someone will reach to me within 24 hours to confirm the plan. And repeatedly told me I shouldn’t worry about it, that Expedia is going to take care of my request. But I was shocked that this Expedia agent did mislead me and didn’t do what he said. He told me someone from Expedia will contact me regarding my request of cancellation and refund. And will take care of it. He also mentioned that I should allow on average 7days before I will receive the refund on the credit card I used for the reservation. But then he didn’t do it. I feel he was just trying to say nice positive words for the phone call recording for his own interest but he lied and didn’t solve my problem!! I am very disappointed that he did mislead me. It is unfair I want my money back. ADDENDUM: Expedia.com is more reliable and has a better customer service. One week later an agent from Expedia.com was able to issue a refund for me. But still, until today, I wasn't able to talk to any agent from Expedia.ca.
