Cancelled or redirected flights due overbookings. Vouchers which they split if flight is cancelled and therefore can be therefore used only for two separate bookings.Messages sent by support form get confirmation but are left unanswered. Customer service telephone in Finland does not answer calls from abroad. You pay for the seat reservation on specific seats and they are altered despite you paying a premium for a selected seat... These are just few problems that I had with Finnair.

Refund received 7 days after I cancel the reservation

Last Sept 2020 I booked a flight from Chile to Thailand and the return from South Korea to Chile.Dates were April 23 (2021) back June 5 (2021). I was checking regularly the flight status based on the current situation due to the pandemic. I had 3 chats online and they were very informative and professional. Short story, last March 31 I used the "online chat" and I was able to cancel my reservation, they sent me an email confirming the cancelation and a week later full refund was back on my credit card. I know during these difficult times is hard to get a full refund in a week but I was lucky and impressed even if I did not have the opportunity to fly with Finnair. Maybe in the future when things are back to normal.

Clueless check in staff at Heathrow

Moving from London to Gothenburg as an Irish EU Passport holder I was able to move to Gothenburg as I met all the current requirements to travel.The ground staff would not even check me in saying all British citizens were not able to travel. Waving my EU passport at them and my filled out Government form meant nothing. Even showing them the latest entry requirements on the polisen.se website did not help them understand. The supervisor walked off to speak with border control and was gone for 50 minutes. I was left there stressed and shaking wondering what was happening. He eventually let me through saying I would have to wait and see at the other end what would happen (I was allowed through as I am an EU citizen). Your staff need to be kept up to date with every change. This was a very stressful experience and making me feel like I was in the wrong. Certainly won't be rushing back to travel with your airline.

Great and very attentive flight cabin crews but bad customer service

Since 2013 I travel on a regular monthly basis between the Uk an Austria. Since March 2020 all mybooked British Airways flights had been cancelled and to remain with the same alliance I was always rebooked to Finnair to reach Vienna via Helsinki. I really only see extremely attentive service up in the air. Can't say the same thing if you write an e-mail to customer service. Either you don't even get a response or just a standard answer, which clearly shows that the counterpart hasn't dealt with your problem. But nevertheless I would highly recommend to fly with Finnair. It really is a pleasure.

Possibly the worse experience in my life with FINNAIR !!!

Today I had possibly the worst experience in my life when I was going to fly back home from Helsinki to Prague with @Finnair.I was not allowed to board a plane and come back home. The reason is that I’m on the 31st week of my pregnancy and I need to have “some certificate” from doctor that I can fly. I came from Prague to Helsinki with the same airline (@Finnair) one week ago. Obviously, in my situation being pregnant and due to the current pandemics, I’ve checked all the requirements and documents prior departure. I even wrote an e-mail to @Finnair asking what needs to be provided for my flight. So, I was fully quipped. And I had not a single problem to come to Helsinki. And, therefore, I didn’t expect any problems to come back home. But, unfortunately, I was wrong. I was put in extremely stressful situation, when I have experienced a panic attack, which can have a very negative impact on my health condition. All this happened because of incompetent and rude behavior of Finnair staff today at Helsinki airport. For 3 hours, I was desperately trying to find a solution and possibility to catch my flight, and return back home to Prague, my city of residence. I had all required documents and pregnancy passport, which allows me to travel, but this was not enough. Three ladies, employees of Finnair, required some kind of pregnancy certificate from the doctor (even after very long discussion, they were not able to explain me what should be written in this document), and without this “some” certificate they are not able to allow me on the plane. I was not able to catch my flight, now I have to buy new ticket, pay for a new COVID test and stay in Helsinki for one more week on my own cost... I believe, that employees of any airlines are supposed to serve their clients the best way and help to find any possible solution for their travel issues. Especially during very difficult COVID times when airlines have very few passengers, which are willing to buy tickets and travel. Second issue is that today none was able to help me to rebook my flight directly at the airport. Ladies left, and another member of Finnair team was trying to manage my new booking. After I have received a link for a new payment via email for my new ticket, but payments on the Finnair side does not work. Furthermore, I was not able to pay online for my extra luggage, system is just not working. Finnair website is not operating properly. No one is picking up the phone at the customer service link... Maybe I’m still in shock, but currently I believe that behaviour of those 3 Finnair staff was disgusting, with zero level humanity, tolerance, and sympathy. I hope, that this situation will not happen to any person.
