Is it worth the effort?

The courses give some useful information, but they are a bit 'flimsy' and don't lead to anything even though they say some of their courses can lead to degrees.I think FutureLearn is misleading people.

I had to block credit card

Massive scam. Most of the reviews on Facebook page are fake accounts, fake numbers.I did block my credit card after paying for the course extension as I was worried after all that I have seen.

Completely Useless New Technology

Reviewed on 2021-11-22T17:43:55.000Z

Completely Useless New Technology : great materials but an enragingly stupid platform. Two weeks into a 3 week course for which I recently paid to have certificated: I have alternating messages from the platform that (i) I am still not complete with week one; (ii) congratulations on finishing week 1; (iii) thanks for upgrading; (iv) you have only 26 days left to upgrade; (v) congrats on completing week 2; (vi) please go to week 2; (vii) you need to register for the course. This is a pity for Dublin City University which has populated the site with apparently sound teaching. I shall have to complain to MasterCard to judge from the stream of complaints here as if you complain they send a note thanking you for the complaint but saying that they are too busy to deal with complaints.

FL (F**** Losers) I highly recommend them to update their name

Reviewed on 2021-09-13T11:21:55.000Z

I do not recommend them to anyone. I have completed a course and paid a fee for the year to recieve my certifiate by post and to access the courses for a year. After waiting for a year and not recieving the certificate, I write them many times and first, they refused to refund me by referring their bogus policies and they use some weird mail service which you can't track (Well, yes a mail service you can't track in the year of 2021! wow). They are running a scam and looting money on the name of their bogus policies, stay very far away from them.

I signed up for future learn for 1 year…

Reviewed on 2021-08-11T05:20:46.000Z

I signed up for future learn for 1 year to have the ability to take part in as many courses as I could over that time.Unfortunately just after I signed I was diagnosed with a severe hiatus hernia and a viral infection. To top that all off my mother contracted Covid-19 @84years old, frightening. That was almost 4 months ago. I am now feeling much better and although my mother was gravely ill, she is slowly recovering.I contacted future learn to tell them my situation and ask to restart my year as I had done nothing as I was too ill too start. They replied with a very blunt email saying no sorry. I found it incredibly cold and heartless. I was not asking for my money back just the chance to experience all the courses I had paid for. What would it really of cost them? This has been such a disabling time for us all and they are supposed to be a company that helps. I thought people should know this so they are aware: if you are having any form of difficulties, this company Will Not help.Future Learn: A Soulless Company!

An excellent site to do courses that are recognised by universities and official organisations and do them online in your own time.

Reviewed on 2021-07-28T11:12:15.000Z

I regularly use future learn to further help me understand and learn new things in both things that I enjoy doing hobbies and parenting my daughter as well as educational purposes and living safely.Paragraph I have the unlimited pass on future learn so I have 12 months to complete as many unlimited courses as possible.I have completed many courses on there and received certificate of achievements as well as all their courses being recognised by various organisations and universities. So far I’ve gained a certificate of achievement in at least 14 of the courses and I plan to continue doing so.I find that it is really helpful to do use future learn as I am a single mum so I can only do education at the minute or training through online courses and these ones are quite easy and you can do them in your own time with some you would have to work and get your own information to they also have their own courses to help you learn how to do online courses as well which is a real help. And if you do the courses when on the dates they are supposed to be you also get help from the tutors who are in charge of that particular course.Overall my experience with future learn.com is excellent and I will probably be using it for years to come as long as I can still afford it.

These reviews are misleading...

Reviewed on 2021-07-09T13:53:38.000Z

I think people reading the reviews need to be made aware that Future Learn is the platform. The content is created by external organisations and universities. If you select a course written by a reputable organisation (I’ve just completed a course by Coventry University and thoroughly enjoyed it and totally free) then you will likely find the quality to be of a great standard. If you want certificates, then the Unlimited upgrade for £199.99 for a year would be worth it if you intend to do 4+ courses. Less than that and cheaper to buy individual ones. If you are working full time then many courses are only free for 2-4 weeks so may find upgrading to Unlimited gives you more time to complete. Try signing up to any courses elsewhere and you’ll pay a lot more so relative value for money is excellent. I can’t understand how so many 1 star reviews - I think maybe the reviewers have misunderstood how things work and made bad choice / not checked out the organisation providing the course. If you approach the platform fully informed then you should reap the rewards!
