GE APPLIANCES - DON'T BUY THERE! READ THIS!

GE, through its sales agent Wayfair, aids and abets in deceiving customers about appliance deliveries.In March, 2021, I placed an order for an oven. At the time Wayfairs' sales agent told me that 1000 of these ovens were IN STOCK and that mine would be delivered within weeks. THE DAY AFTER ORDERING I received an email from Wayfair that the oven was on back order. Every few weeks I was told it was on back order for the following month. Each month the backorder was extended a month. With no prior notification, I received word the oven would be delivered in two days. The morning following that notification, I received an email saying the oven would not be delivered as scheduled and there was no rescheduling date. The morning after that at 9 am I received a call from the trucking company (sent by General Electric) that the oven would arrive in 15 minutes! I had ordered the oven with extra warranty, installation, taking away the old oven, etc. The trucking company 1) wasn't sure if Wayfair had sent the oven or where it was from as they also deliver for Home Depot; 2) said they did NOT install ovens, take away old ovens etc. I told them to park the truck while I called Wayfair. I called and was told it WAS an oven sent by Wayfair and that the agent would call the truckers and tell them they must install it and take away the old oven, as contracted. During the call, the truckers appeared at my door. They had been told to do what was contracted. They began by unloading the oven from the truck and unpacking it outside. The carton and the oven had a dent the size of a large water melon, right where it was supposed to connect to the electrical outlet. The truckers advised me not to accept it. I refused the oven. Then I called Wayfair. Wayfair said a replacement could not be delivered for THREE MONTHS. I called GE. GE said a replacement could not be delivered for FOUR MONTHS. Naturally, I cancelled the order. Wayfair lied at time of sale about the oven being in stock or Wayfair alone lied to me. GE uses a trucking service that delivers the product with a water melon size dent in its carton and in the product and their truckers don't know which company ordered it, whether to install it and provide written contracted service to the customer. In short Wayfair, GE, and GE's customer delivery people couldn't care less about getting the product to you AT ALL, let alone in working order and in a timely manner.

We purchased a GE Cafe Refrigerator…

We purchased a GE Cafe Refrigerator with the Kurig feature on the door in February 2021.From day 1 the hot water button didn't work. We called for service and they sent a tech out 2-3 weeks later. He determined that the whole panel needed to be replaced and he would have to order the parts and come back in 2 weeks. He even confirmed the follow up appointment with us. They were a no show on the scheduled date. When I finally got through to customer service, they were less than apologetic. They then told me that the parts hadn't even been ordered yet! The parts finally came in and another tech came out to do the installation. The tech scratched our brand new stainless steel refrigerator while installing the new parts! I called customer relations to let them know. They had me email pictures to them and their solution was to offer us a bottle of CeramaBryte cleaner for free. Gee, thanks for offering to send us a $7.00 bottle of something that will definitely not take care of the scratches on our $3,600 refrigerator caused by the GE technician!!! We are disgusted.

I purchased a GE washer and dryer. I received it April 24, contacted GE on April 25 and 27.They kept me on hold for 4 hours. A woman by the name of Jill was very rude. I needed a repairman to come to my house since the appliances don't work. They were very uncooperative about sending anyone out and left me on hold rather than helping. I was told they are no longer a reputable company. So sad.

STAY AWAY!!

Bought a new dish from a big box store and took a month to get it delivered after several rescheduling attempts from the carrier.They refused to install it and I did pay for that service so I enjoy putting it in myself. Followed their guidelines and found certain mounting bolts were missing so I had to buy new ones. Got to the leak test and found the discharge line had holes in it from the factory. After fighting with the automated phone system of GE told them what’s goin on and they set up a tech to come out to verify the leak I told them exactly what the problem is and to just bring the new part and be done in 20 min. They assured me they will have the tech will bring it. Next available time was almost 3 weeks out. They came looked at it then said he had no notes on what was goin on he did not have the part and no one in my state did and had to order it. They did a direct ship to my house and the tech said he is setting up a follow up service call to have it put in. That day came no one showed I called customer service again to find out what’s goin on. GE changed the appointment with out telling me to a day that I’m working and will not be available to deal with them. It’s now 2 months and their junk is still not fixed and they are refusing to issue a refund. All I keep getting is call back later and talk to this person... call back later .. just stay away from this company

There washing machines have a poor design. The rubber gasket has ripped twice causing leaks even after it was replaced and customer service is terrible.They take no responsibility for defective parts.

Unmotivated Customer Service Team ?

I was looking for options on an older microwave for a longer power cord. I was told parts were no longer available for my model...which I knew because I searched parts sites myself.What I hoped was that with more resources at their disposal, they could find a solution, a compatible part. Nope. I just find it hard to believe that power cords are specific to every model GE manufactures. Take the extra step to actually solve problems. Come on GE, you're better than this.

I bought a lemon dishwasher

First, I want to acknowledge that I misplaced my receipt due to a move, 8 storage units and 4 houses.But...I did register my new, never before installed dishwasher when it was installed October 2020. After install I ran it empty to test/clean it. IT LEAKED. I called GE to schedule repair. I was told it was manufactured in 2018 (another said 2019) and it was not under warranty. I explained I purchased it only a few months before and installation was delayed due to my contractors. They said I would have to pay for labor but the parts were covered under warranty. I didn't like it but agreed because I couldn't find the receipt (from a big box store). Local repair people came 3 weeks later and fixed the leak. They did not run or check if anything else was wrong with the dishwasher. I began using it and quickly realized that it did not get the dishes clean. It does not heat the water, it does not dry, it can't possibly sanitize with out heat and kitchen installer said it was missing the kick plate. Geez!! And this is just the things I know!! I have called 4 times now to schedule a service repair, each time having to explained the whole thing, sit on hold, ask to speak to a supervisor, be transferred to customer service and 4 times I have been DISCONNECTED!! I bought all GE appliances so they would match but I would give anything if I didn't have to deal with GE again!! Unfortunately, I will have to call again Monday or buy a different brand. Save yourself and buy another brand!!! Wish I could submit a picture

Many of us are dealing with months and months of delays receiving kitchen appliances bought and fully paid for.I personally have no idea when my GE Cafe range will actually be delivered. DiscountBandit.com and Goedecker's keep passing the buck. GE passes it back to them. Horrible customer service, especially from the "premium" Cafe product line. For the full review see my DiscountBandit.com review and check stories about the problems others face when dealing with GE on other websites. It's unacceptable. But there is an explanation. Haier Group Corporation of China. They own GE Appliances. Enough said. It's not the company my father and grandfather worked for in Louisville.
