What does gestalten do?
Gestalten publishes visual books on design, art, and lifestyle from its headquarters in Berlin and distributes them worldwide.
Unlike a classic publisher, Gestalten envisages the topics and creates the content for almost all of its books. Titles on topics including current bicycle culture, the new food movement, the return of the dandy, Scandinavian interior design, or contemporary architecture originate within Gestalten's extensive network.
At Gestalten, we have always strived to go beyond publishing our content in books and have developed workshops, exhibitions, videos, and, most recently, stores where this content can be experienced in new ways. Our first store Gestalten Space, opened its doors in the Mitte district of Berlin in April 2011. We have now opened a second flagship store in our home city called Gestalten Pavilion which is located on the roof terrace of Bikini Berlin and features an integrated café.
Gestalten's true expertise as a publisher lies not only in printing ink on paper, but also in continually finding new, compelling subjects, preparing them editorially, and presenting them to a worldwide audience of consumers and professionals in a topical way.
