DEK22 is een creatieve werk- en exporuimte waar waar jonge, Rotterdamse kunstenaars met minstens het niveau van een afgeronde academie-opleiding kunnen exposeren. In de multifunctionele ruimte worden doordeweeks workshops gegeven voor jongeren van de middelbare scholen en groep acht van de brede scholen uit Delfshaven. Wij bieden ook workshops aan voor andere groepen, zoals verzorgingstehuizen en bedrijven. Een deel van die workshops vindt plaats in de oefenruimtes, die overdag verder gebruikt worden door studenten van het WMDC en 's avonds verhuurd worden aan bandjes. Medewerkers, buurtbewoners, kunstenaars en scholieren zijn dus constant samen in de weer in DEK22. De ruimte is multifunctioneel van 's ochtends tot 's avonds. Sociaal gezien brengt DEK22 mensen bij elkaar rond kunstige uitdagingen. Ze doen er interesses op en leren hun ideeën uit te werken. Regelmaat, omgaan met afspraken en tijdsdruk; alles komt aan bod. Maar nu buiten de schoolmuren. DEK22 is het nieuwe platform waar je niet alleen skills kunt tonen, maar ze ook kunt opdoen.
