What does Hunter Boot Ltd do?

Founded in 1856, Hunter is a progressive British heritage brand renowned for its iconic Original boot and holds two Royal Warrants of Appointment to HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. The brand has a rich history of innovation and continues to forge designs that shield pioneers from the elements and bleakest of landscapes. With a team of over 200 people, eight global e-commerce sites, headquarters in London and offices in New York, Düsseldorf and Tokyo, the brand builds on its heritage of almost 160 years, creating footwear and outerwear to protect from the weather and perform across all terrains. In 2011, UK-based Searchlight Capital Partners L.P. became majority shareholders in the company, signalling the start of a new path for the brand. Alasdhair Willis was appointed Creative Director in 2013 and two new brand categories, Hunter Original and Hunter Field, were introduced. The launch of Hunter Original has seen four pioneering catwalk shows at London Fashion Week, showcasing new footwear, outerwear and accessories, alongside the Original boot. 2016 will see the brand step away from the traditional fashion calendar and celebrate its iconic connection with music festivals. Hunter Field is a technical collection, designed for outdoor performance in both rural and urban environments.

Good customer service

Having received a pair of boots as an Xmas gift I was disappointed to see that the quality was not great, the heel came away from the sole after a couple of months. The response was excellent though, I was promised an upgraded replacement pair. After a lengthy wait these arrived and I am delighted with them.

Love Love Love my Hunter wellies

Womens Refined Slim Fit Adjustable Tall Wellington Boots Size 4 Having read all the reviews on theseboots about the fitting I was unsure whether to order or not but couldn't get them out of my head so went ahead and ordered. I am so glad that I did as I love love love them from the minute I opened the boxed. The Wellington Boots were immaculately wrapped in a nice looking box. On first trying on I decided to unfasten the adjustable strap at the top and also the strap around the ankle. As with most people my right foot is slightly bigger than my left so tried this one on first. Inserting the right foot in wearing normal thin socks there was a little resistance getting through the narrowest part of the boot but it went on okay and the fit was perfect although there was slight pressure / tightness over the top of the foot nearest the ankle. I did the same unfastening of the straps on the left foot and this one slid straight in. I refastened the top and bottom straps and walked around to see how they felt. They looked so lovely and felt so comfortable (apart from the slight tightness on the right foot) that I didn't want to take them off. Also as I am only 5' 1" I was worried that they would be too long in the leg but they are a perfect fit. Overall they look and feel more like a proper boot than a wellie and very stylish and can definitely recommend.

‘i ordered some shoes nearly a month…

‘i ordered some shoes nearly a month ago - never got them delivered. What’s worse is that I couldnteven got my money refunded because the shoes had to ‘quarantine’ and then after that I would still have to wait 5-10 days for my money to settle in my account. Comms from customer service have been misleading and unclear. ‘ Order 01-1335701

Rubbish customer service

Reviewed on 2021-05-21T08:54:15

So, gripe number one is that I have to wear the kids wellies because the original wellies are too tall for me being 5ft 1,meaning they uncomfortably bang on my knee. I’d much prefer the adult ones without the reflective patches but they don’t cater for petite women with the original wellies, unless you want the short version, which I do not like. Gripe number two - The wellies looked great and appeared to be nice quality but I’m a 4.5 and had to order a size 4 because they NEVER have the size 5 big kids in stock. Why?? Who knows. Make more?? Anyway, the 4 were too small really but then I saw the 5 were in stock after months and months of watching out for them! So, I quickly contacted Hunter online and asked if I could exchange them and was told it wasn’t a problem and that my exchange had been sorted (received an email to confirm exchange) and just to send the boots back. Hey presto! Simple as that! And I thought, what a great service! Fast forward a few days and I noticed I had an email saying I would be refunded for my return. Puzzled, I contacted Hunter and was told oh yeah sorry they were out of stock (by the time my return had been received - which I did the same day). At no point was I told they don’t hold the other boots for you. I knew the stock would sell out straight away and if I had been informed that the boots were not secured for my exchange then I would have just bought the size 5 immediately and got a refund on the 4! Hunter customer services weren’t really interested, except for saying they had sent me an email for a 15% discount - an email that I never received for a pair of boots I couldn’t buy. Thanks! Terrible way to do business. I am so disappointed, I have been looking for months for these to come into stock. Also, it would be nice if they catered more for petite people (there are plenty of us, women under 5ft 4 aren’t some weird anomaly!) and then I wouldn’t have to spend months trying to find a pair of size 5 kids wellies. And yes I know some other types of Hunter wellies have a shorter leg height but I like the original ones. Anyway I’ve given in now bothering to try and find a pair, and by the sounds of the complaints from people on here as to the quality these days it seems for the best.

Bad customer service and quality

Reviewed on 2021-05-19T19:57:59

I brought a pair of ladies slim fit Wellington boots from hunter a few months ago.I was walking my dog one morning to find a split/slice with makes them non-waterproof (making them unusable and a waste of money.) I contacted hunters customer service to see if they could do anything about it but to my disappointment I never received a reply. Overall I think my experience has been poor. I brought these thinking they would be more robust and better quality but clearly I was wrong. I think it’s both wrong and disgusting that I never received a reply for help with my purchase. I wouldn’t recommend buying hunter wellies again and if somebody from hunter could kindly get back to me about this that would be great. Thank you. ?

Unacceptable quality - unacceptable attitude

Reviewed on 2021-05-19T19:35:12

I have purchased two pairs of the Balmoral Hunter boots at ~£120 per pair. The first pair developed cracks and split and were no longer waterproof after 2 years.I replaced them with identical boots which also developed an identical fault at about 2 years as well as the strap disconnecting from the boot. I contacted Hunter who after a series of emails confirmed that their final outcome was to offer a 15% discount on future purchases !! Shocking disregard for customer satisfaction having provided unacceptable quality goods and being unprepared to make a realistic gesture for a so called premium product!! I certainly will not be buying from this company again.

I wished I could review the boots

I wished I could review the boots, but I don’t have them yet because your delivery partner is rubbish.I had a delivery slot, I waited them at home and they left without calling my door. They came downstairs and LEFT without calling my door or my contact number and said I wasn’t home!! You can imagine my stupor when I received the non delivery note while being at HOME. I will tell you how the boots are when I will eventually receive them. In the meantime maybe you check your internal processes with your partners if you want customers to be loyal and come back
