For your safety & wellness, hire a real professional.

It is amazing that anyone who enrolls in and completes this MLM type program is considered qualified to lead another through health and life coaching. There is no real measure or assessment to determine how much a student has learned and if they know how to properly apply intended knowledge. The four open book tests are so easy you’d have to be seriously impaired to not pass them. Of course, you won’t hear anything like this in reviews because IIN and its coaches need to promote the business in every way possible to keep their credibility and income flowing. This is where the MLM cult vibe comes in. Institute gets a bad name through real reviews, no coach makes money nor does the institute. Recruitment is aggressive but support after enrollment is non-existent. You’ll be lucky to get a gum chewing rep to answer the phone, let alone address any concerns you might have. You are also solidly locked in after a certain timeframe and it’s not long enough to figure out the program and curriculum have serious issues, like outdated and scientifically unreliable information/sources. Save your money and see a qualified professional, a licensed counselor. You’ll probably be charged the same but outcome will be far better. They also have ethical and legal guidelines and accountability that no coach has. Lots of counselors are into holistic wellness too.

IIN is GREAT with a couple of BUTs...

Reviewed on 2021-03-10T10:04:43

I'm quite pleased with IIN. It was a great program to learn more about myself and study topics that actually interest me and inspire me.However, I was a bit disappointed with the fact that the program has not been updated in years, some lectures are over 10 years old.. Also it is very visible that the institue is very much for-profit and wants to earn as much as it can, which is fine, but from my perspective it could lower some prices down and focus more on community. Either way I believe IIN is very unique and if you have the opportunity and the resoruces to take it you will defiently get a lot from it.

I love the IIN curriculum

Reviewed on 2021-02-25T03:26:02

I love the IIN curriculum! So many doctors presenting on cutting edge findings about diet, health and nutrition, all of it grounded in solid research. The presenters represent the real diversity of America, too, with many women and people of color. As an English professor, I also absolutely love that there are engaging and informative videos to watch rather than having to read texts (I'm already pushed to the limit at the end of a day). I am so excited and energized by what I'm learning. Even if I never actually worked as a health coach, which I expect to do, I have benefitted immensely from all I've learned in this program. My life, and my husband's as well, has been forever changed by the knowledge I've gained and the improvements we've both made as a result. I also absolutely love Joshua Rosenthal and enjoy his talks so much. He brings a lot to his program and that seals the deal for me. IIN is a winning program on every level, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

In-Depth Integrative Perspective; Would like more personal connection.

Reviewed on 2021-02-20T16:40:07

Overall I am very happy with my IIN experience. I enjoy the guest lectures immensely, and many of the lecturers are my beloved heroes in the natural integrative health field. I also appreciate their broad view of health, that is so much more than knowing which vitamins and minerals are good for what - hence the "integrative" approach. In the nutrition community there is a strong tendency to adhere to certain specific diets or belief systems. At IIN, they present a more balanced variety of viewpoints and emphasize the individuality of each person's case, helping us see on one size fits all. I also appreciate that they provide tools to prepare the students for success in the field, rather than just a lot of theories and concepts, especially Coaching Skills, Coaching Tools (with forms we can use and a 6 month format) and an introduction to building and marketing your own business. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because you have to be very self-disciplined and independent to follow the program. I wish there was either more support or more required action in engaging with other students. We are encouraged to create our own facebook groups and hold online meetings, which I have done, but since it's not required, people's busy lives take precedence and few people engage or join the meetings. There's an enormous and wonderful community of IIN students and grads out there - I just wish we were given more support in connecting with each other.

Transformational Experience

Reviewed on 2021-02-17T19:23:25

IIN's Health Coach Training has literally transformed my life. I developed a passion for helping people to take better care of themselves after struggling with dis-ease and illness in my own life.IIN taught me a lot about food and nutrition but learning about Primary Food and Bio-individuality was a gamechanger. The program is so well put together with just the right amount of content for each module. It was a little overwhelming to take the accelerated course while working. It takes a lot of discipline and setting time aside for studying to stay on track. The Coaching Circle is probably my most favorite part of the program. Having actual interaction in the circle, while being coached, helped me to build my confidence and really gave me a vision for how I can move forward after graduation. I am so glad I made the decision to enroll and I highly recommend IIN to anyone seeking to gain knowledge and insight about how to take better care of themselves (heart, mind, body, soul and spirit) or anyone looking to teach/coach others to do the same.
