Keep your receipt and prepare to be perplexed

On a first note we have had an LG high-efficiency washer and dryer set for several years and I’ve had zero issues.There are two people in our household. We bought an LG dishwasher over the stove microwave electric oven and stove top and French door refrigerator just over a year ago. The over the counter microwave light wasn’t even as bright as a night light. They sent me the highest watt bulb that would work safely and you still cannot see what you were doing it is useless. The water filter that goes in the refrigerator when we replaced it the second time would not stay locked into place. We tried three different brand new filters and had to get a new part to screw into. We had to pay for this part because it was 13 months from the date of purchase and they only warrantee it for a year. We bought the dishwasher and other appliances on December 4. It was not delivered until the end of February. Now it’s April a year later and the door seal has disintegrated and it is all over the floor. To get them to look at the case I need the original purchase receipt. We registered for the warranty when these were delivered and installed but that is not good enough for LG. If you do not have the original receipt they can do nothing for you. Registering with them is not proof of purchase. How ridiculous can they be? Why would you register an appliance with the part number and serial number for a warranty that you have not purchased. Hang onto your receipt because you are going to need them. Now my problem is is my receipt from Lowe’s while I do have it because my wife put it with the paperwork did not print clearly so I don’t know if they are going to except it. I have now had similar issues with Sony customer service. I know whose products I will avoid in the future just because of their ridiculousness

I bought a brand new LG TV in late…

I bought a brand new LG TV in late December, 2020 from their local rep(Somotex) only for the TV develop a fault in less than 5months.Now, l send the TV with the receipt to their shop only for them to tell they will try to fix it and not replace it with a new one. This means that, they bring inferior products to African and sell it to us at an expensive price. I bought LG because l thought is was a trusted brand with quality products but l was wrong. You are cheating and lying to your customers I don’t understand, how a LG TV develops a fault in less an 5 months and instead of replacing it you want to fix it and give it back to me. Does that mean, each time it breaks down, l will have to waste time to bring it to them to fix it. I bought LG TV because l wanted durability. Something that will last long not something that will keep breaking down for me to sending it to them to fix. They said they will keep fixing for a year. When it breaks down again after a year, it’s now my cost. What kind of rubbish is this??????????? It’s either you refund the money in full or replace it with a new and better one

LG monitor can burn your house

My 3.5 years old 34UC98-W monitor all of a sudden started burning inside and smoke came out.I was fast to unplug the monitor. If I was not at home, our house could burn. Interestingly they did not care. LG neither cares about EU safety regulations nor customer safety. What could be more dangerous than this!!!

Was shopping for a new washer/dryer. Was looking at LG because of ratings. Found a set on sale that could be delivered.Went i went to check out, it showed not deliverable to my zip. Called and was hung up on by someone with a horrible connection and significant accent. 2 days later the items are available to ship to my zip, but for a lot more money. "Bate and Switch"? I think I will be happy with my American made Whirlpool set from a local retailer.

Bad experience

I purchased an LG music set from Real online in Mar 2019. After a bit more than a year the unit malfunctioned although it was seldom used as I am not in the country half the year.So I reported it to LG in Aug 20. After voluminous correspondence and delays LG finally sent DHL voucher for shipment to repair in Mar 21. After two weeks I received the unit back with the original defect solved but with a new problem introduced that was not there before. So I wrote to LG saying I am fed up with seven months of headache, irresponsiveness, endless correspondence and substandard repair jobs and asked for refund. They said no, but added that I should apply to Real for a replacement. So I wrote to Real also providing them previous correspondence regarding LG instruction to reach Real and that the defect was reported within the guarantee period but was not resolved till the end of said period. Real replied with a negative reply claiming guarantee is over. So I wrote again providing more correspondence and proof on paper and claimed that LG recognizes my rights for a replacement and they don’t think the guarantee is over. Again Real rejected my rights as a customer with a short reply. I don’t think they read the LG correspondence I sent them or even if they did they did not give a crap. So I am stuck with this useless music set, thanks to LG and Real. No more Real or LG for me, and I recommend all to stay away from these two brands, based on my negative experience with both, as a ping pong ball in the middle, back and forth. N. Ergun 1.4.21

Why LG wins Worst Customer Service award of 2021

Today I decided not to buy anymore LG products from now until I die, let me tell you WHY!Bought some headphones through BestBuy in December, they stopped working in March. When they stopped working I immediately inspected them, could not determine why they had stopped. Talked to BestBuy who informed me I could not return them (which I knew) but that they were under warranty. I called to set up warranty, they even asked if they were damaged to which I said no. At this point I was feeling uneasy and decided to photograph my headphones prior to shipping to the warranty address. Once the warranty place received them, I was sent an email claiming they were NOT covered and they were ALSO physically damaged. WOW. Do what?! So I called to see why this was, since I KNEW they were not damaged. I spoke with first level and also a supervisor that told me, "Our technician decides and they put damaged so you can pay or we can discard them." When I told them I had my own photos they said they don't accept them and there was nothing else to do. I called corporate to see if that was true. They offered to accept my photos, but its so sad I had to go to those lengths just to be CONSIDERED, not heard or taken care of, JUST CONSIDERED. This is SUCH a wretched company it is unreal. I argued that the technician likely man-handled or opened my package with such force that the cord was ripped. My other theory is that the technician purposefully ripped the cord so that I could be charged for diagnostics and repairs. The earbuds were inspected and there were no visible wires when I shipped them. There are also photos to prove it. I cannot believe that I had to spend half the day on the phone with little to no positive outcome. I don't feel I have been treated fairly nor respectfully. I feel I am being scammed out of additional money with LG, a multimillion dollar company. I am not only out of headphones, but the $80 I finished paying off LAST WEEK (these were a gift to myself for the holidays) I am also loosing. In addition to that, I paid an extra $14 for a box to ship them in to said warranty company. Now that same warranty company wants $20 for diagnostics and another $50 to replace/fix the issue. Totaling the headphones to around $130, something they're not worth. This also cost me time away from work because I was on the phone SO MUCH. I have been incredibly frustrated since first receiving the news. My mental has suffered greatly while dealing with this NONESENSE, it is absolutely nonsense. I paid for them, they broke; they were not damaged and I cannot even get them to hear me out unless I call corporate, complain to multiple associates. WHICH I DID. This is why I'm replacing anything in my home/life that is affiliated with LG. The logo stands for "Life is Good" but today it stood for "Lack of Good" because there was a serious lack of anything good once all was said and done. Switching to Sony and you should do the same!

I have 2 bad experiences now with LG products. First was TV, lasted 15 months and started getting lines on screen.Second, bought a Washer/Dryer set because consumer reports rated high. WRONG!!! Dryers main control board went in less than 2 yrs and I paid a company (prior LG employee) to come look at it. After $65 service call fee, I found it was going to cost over $450+ to fix it. The dryer cost $999. 1/2 the cost of purchase to repair for a dryer less than 2 yrs! Customer service is non-existent! You can’t get a customer service rep in the US to take escalate your call after 5 weeks of trying, IM DONE WITH LG PRODUCTS AND IF YOU VALUE YOUR PRODUCTS, YOU WILL BE TOO!

Hi, I've never complained about a company before but I think this is worth sharing.Think twice before you purchase from LG. I've been waiting 7 months for a refund on an extended warranty. I bought a brand new fridge and it broke down in 6 years. We tried to work with the company so we purchased an extended warranty. Several weeks went by and nothing was fixed. Finally we argued for a refund.. we requested this in August. It is now March and this issue has still not been resolved. I understand that in our Covid times things are difficult for everyone and every company but this is NOT acceptable.
