What does A Cloud Guru do?

We're on a mission to teach the world to cloud. Why? Because we think the cloud means a brighter future for people and organizations. Founded in 2015 by brothers Sam and Ryan Kroonenburg, A Cloud Guru (ACG) began as a single cloud certification course and has grown into the leader in cloud learning. We've helped over two million novices, gurus and everyone in between advance their career in the cloud, prepare for certification exams, and progress through learning paths to become gurus in digital and cloud innovation. Now, with the acquisition of Linux Academy in 2019, we've combined the current strengths and benefits of both companies to create a new and improved A Cloud Guru platform for modern tech skills. With a robust Learn-by-Doing experience, we've developed the most effective, hands-on, and comprehensive skills development platform for cloud learning in the world! And we're only getting started!

Negative value for money

Their exam preparation exams are pretty lucking. If you go only for their courses on an exam get prepared for an ugly surprise. Also their subscription model is not at all worth the cost. Courses on other platforms are much cheaper, last forever and some of them even get updated. Shovelware exists everywhere but at least they don't force you to pay a yearly or monthly fee. Overall a bad experience for even trying a one month subscription. I initially thought that I was granted access to legitimate preparation courses but then realised they are superficial.

AWS Essentials course made chargeable…

Reviewed on 2020-08-31T14:43:33

AWS Essentials course made chargeable after enrolling. The course started off with free gems and kind of sample course to figure out future plans.I was also promised Certification at the end of it. I finished the course and by the end of it, suddenly I could not take up mandatory quiz to get the certification. When I reached out to support team; they bluntly informed me that i'll have to now pay for this. I feel cheated. Because I chose this course amongst others which were also free and i invested 20-30 hours in finishing it. Now i get nothing to show as a certificate either. Its a disgrace, highly unprofessional attitude and cheating. Never enrol here

Non transparent,one word.

Non transparent, one word. Their link states " We have a program for students and anyone affiliatedwith an educational institute”.” Anyone with a valid and verifiable educational email address can now sign up for a special $80/quarter subscription” However, read the below: I assumed your webpage says anyone " We have a program for students and anyone affiliated with an educational institute”.” Anyone with a valid and verifiable educational email address can now sign up for a special $80/quarter subscription” If you do not entertain alumni, I suggest you remove this statement from the website. Nonetheless, I will try out Cloudacademy which seems to offer better support. Thanks and regards. Aditya Garg Hi! Thank you so much for providing the document to us. However the student plan is only for individuals who are currently in educational programs, not for graduates. If you are currently pursuing a different degree path, we will be happy to accept the documentation from the new program in order to determine eligibility for the student pricing plan. If you have any other questions, please let us know. We want to help! Thanks, Jenn B.

If for Red Hat certifications, check out O'Reilly learning!

Reviewed on 2020-04-12T13:36:06

If you're looking for Red Hat Enterprise Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE), make sure you check out O'Reilly learning. At the moment of writing, Linux Academy offers a trial for some courses only, but not their RH certification courses, whereas O'Reilly offers a 10-day trial. And O'Reilly offers much more material and tools, and at a greater quality for the same price. A couple of things I have to acknowledge is that their customer service is really good and they also have a nice discount for the military.
