Terrible customer service

Reviewed on 2021-05-21T20:09:18

Terrible customer service! Purchased two bikes, the first was just about $6k for an Orbea Wild. The response was pretty slow to get it shipped but I know they're a large group of stores so I didn't sweat it and when I went to purchase another Orbea about a month later, I figured I would use them again. This time I purchased a higher end model and spent $7300.00. not the most expensive purchases but definitely not peanuts. Same delayed shipping issue but this time they didn't send any of the bikes paperwork, manual, or shock accessories that came with the first Orbea. Also, the bike was used, it had several miles recorded on the digital odometer, one of the grips was scraped as if it had been laid down and the charger was some used, tangled up mess that I can only assume came off an old cruiser because not only was it dirty and scratched but there was a bell (like the kind you'd see on a beach cruiser or kids bike) attached to the cord. When I sent them a message they didn't initially respond until the second email and they're response was essentially 'we never said the bike you get would be unused, just not previously owned'

Online order was just fine

The only reason I didn't give 5 was because it was a simple order and not much to mess up. I bought some road bike tires that I couldn't find anywhere else.Price was right. They shipped promptly and kept me up to date with tracking, etc. Perfectly satisfied.

Took my order for an item they didnt have in stock and failed to notify me

Reviewed on 2020-09-18T15:00:25

I ordered a Shimano RT900 Disk rotor for my bike from Mike's Bikes because they indicated it was in stock and I would be able to pick up from their local store in 2-4 business days.3 days later I noticed that the item was showing out of stock on their web site. After contacting them, they indicated they ran out, gave no update for when I would receive the part, but said they would get it "ASAP," and asked if I wanted to keep my order. The whole reason I ordered from Mike's Bikes is because I thought they were a reputable dealer and many other places were running out and I wanted to ensure I could ride my bike as soon as possible. Instead, now I have wasted multiple days, and who knows how much longer I would have wasted if I hadn't searched their site to realize they ran out of stock and failed to notify me. Terrible experience. Don't trust them.

Ordered 2 bikes from Mike's Bikes this…

Ordered 2 bikes from Mike's Bikes this month and received both bikes within 2 weeks (despite slowed UPS delivery due to the I-70 wildfire closure in western CO).Responded quickly to my inquiries. Despite increased demand for bikes this year, these guys delivered quickly.

Do not do business with these guys

Reviewed on 2020-06-11T03:18:18

I tried to contact company about an order via email. That email was answered with a response that it would take 7-10 days to respond to my email.I sent a FB msg, no response. I called and could not get person, only referred back to using their email. I then asked to cancel my order via their FB page after reading other reviews about the same issue. Well for that I got a quick response that was insulting, name calling, and they told me they did not want to do business with me. I do not recommend. I was not once rude on my attempts at contacting them.

Stay away!

Reviewed on 2020-05-20T13:51:46

I bought a specialized rock hopper from mikes bikes and after 3 rides through the neighbor hood (roughly 6 miles total)without even going off a curb the rear derailleur snapped and got caught in the wheel. I contacted mikes bikes and after 3 days finally got a lengthy response about how busy they are and why it took so long, but very briefly told me there was nothing they could do other than price new parts for me...on a brand new bike. Stay away from mikes bikes! Terrible customer service.

Brilliant

Shipping took 2 weeks for a pair of pants paid at full price. I have yet to receive them.Asked why by email and phone no response. Even warned them I would leave this review. Absolutely no response - not only poor customer service but you’d think they would take the hint which makes it even worse. There are a lot of opportunities to by bike hardware and apparel on the internet- you should choose someone other than Mikes Bikes (two one syllable words -brilliant)

Deliberately wrong information on website and poor service

Reviewed on 2019-06-24T17:08:59

Today I visited Mikes Bikes in Los Gatos. I did so because I wanted to buy a spare part, the connection to mount our bike child trailer on a bike, the Thule Ezhitch. We forgot the ezhitch at home when travelling to California on holiday. I found the part with an extra axle (Thule Axle Mount Ezhitch) online through the brands store locator. On mikesbikes.com the part was displayed as available in Los Gatos. It was displayed as available at 10 out of 13 stores. I drove from Capitola, approx. 30 min drive. At the store it turned out that they didn’t have it. They called the closest store. They didn’t have either though it was also displayed as available for this store. So they called the next store and here they had the part, another 30 min drive away so I would need to drive another 90 min with two small kids in the car before we would be back at our house. In the shop they had two Thule child trailers. They come with the ezhitch. It is released by hand in seconds. I asked if I could buy one from one of the trailers. I even offered to pay for the axle mount so they could just replace it with the spare part from the other shop. NO, they did not want to sell it! It was part of the trailer and could not be sold separately! (as they could risk that if they sold all their bike trailers before the part was transferred from the shop then it would be missing on the last one). So if you consider shopping at Mike’s Bikes then consider this: -Their webshop information is not up to date. They know it and they do not correct. The sales guy asked a colleague where to find the part and the other guy told him that he should not look at webpage as it was often wrong but to look in their internal system. After I visited the shop it has not been updated for “my” part. -They do not make any effort correct errors (We drove 30 min based on the incorrect on their webpage) or help a client with an issue. They could have solved my problem with a minimal effort -transferring a part from the other store 30 min drive away (or ordering from their supplier with the slightly increased risk of being a part short if they managed to sell all their thule trailers before the part arrived). And now you might think this is just the attitude of the one sales guy but no, he went to his manager for advice before choosing not to sell the part so it seems that it is the policy of Mike’s Bikes. We went back without our spare part and Mike’s Bikes failed their mission “GET MORE PEOPLE ON BIKES!”
