Owlet sock connectivity issues

Reviewed on 2021-02-06T22:56:38

We have had the Owlet sock for approx 1 year. In this time we have had recurring connectivity issues where the base station loses its connection with WiFi.To fix this I have to go through the laborious process of changing settings and re-syncing the devices. I have found that the main issue is that it can only connect to the 2.4Ghz WiFi band. In 2020 this sock should be absolutely compatible with 5.0Ghz WiFi. I do not believe it’s a router issue on my end, because the sock and base station is the only household device we are having issues with. For $480 we expect better. However when everything is connected, the sock works as intended.

Sock good, Camera & App Poor

Reviewed on 2020-11-08T11:18:34

The sock itself works fine and is almost worth the purchase just for that. The camera and app really are bad.The app constantly stops working and even when it is running the picture quality could be better and it cuts in and out all the time. I have excellent internet and have tested this on every device known to man.

Keeps disconnecting from wifi

Reviewed on 2020-06-26T17:01:32

The camera quality is great. HOWEVER, the app keeps disconnecting the camera. For whatever reason, the camera just keeps disconnecting on a daily basis. Reselling this and buying a different camera.

Owlet doesn't care about child safety

Reviewed on 2020-04-08T16:19:40

I purchased an Owlet baby monitor but when it came time to use the product, I learned that the app did not work and I was not able to use the product AT ALL.I received no notification that this was an ongoing issue. I contacted customer support and they said that they were working on an update (as in they knew it was a problem and didn't bother to tell me that I would be bringing my baby back to a useless baby monitor) that would be released, hopefully, in a few weeks and until then there was NOTHING they could do. This is unacceptable when it comes to services provided for a normal child, but my newborn son has been released from NICU after a life saving surgery and "a few weeks" of being unable to monitor him is not an option. We are living in the middle of a pandemic and because of his surgery, my son is high risk for Covid so I'm completely isolated and am I'm not able to just run to the store and get a new camera. And due to the Coronavirus, shipments are significant delayed. This is a HORRIBLE situation. Owlet refuses to take any responsibility and says that because I bought their product through an (approved) third party that they will not refund me the cost of the product or pay for the cost of the camera I needed to purchase to replace the broken one they are selling. I'm out hundreds of dollars and even more stressed as a new mom with a sick child than I need to be. Shame on you Owlet!
