Drowning

Reviewed on 2021-05-15T00:16:11

Padi Director of Training director claims dropping weights is not a dive flexible skill for open water diver course. You know there is news of someone dying of this when their bcd wouldnt inflate and they never learned to drop weights. Yes, drowned because of not learning dropping weights. Edit - Padi tried to get my review removed from Trust Pilot. Then after they tried to get my review removed, they responded to my review. I emailed customersupport like the reply indicated. However they are not replying back by email to address my concerns. In fact their lawyer said she was authorized to cut off communication. The only option is to sue since Padi is refusing to communicate. Do not trust padi. Take their classes at your own risk. I repeat, Padi tried to get my review removed! I got an email from Trust Pilot about that. Do not trust Padi. They have cut off communications! Their reply about emailing customersupport is filler to make themselves look like they care. Their lawyer has cut off communication with me!

Padi app is dreadful with multiple bugs

Reviewed on 2021-05-14T14:39:34

PADI app is dreadful. For a start, it won’t accept my address in the UAE because it doesn’t conform to “normal” standards - Hey PADI,pretty sure I know my address better than you! Dive log is utterly useless. I have input the details 6 times for the last 2 dives. Each time all it actually saves is the dive name and site from the 30 or so fields. Every additional field is set back to zero/default. What an utter waste of my time. In the “general” section having filled everything out it gives a red warning for missing information yet gives no explanation. Having effectively secured a global monopoly on dive training you would think PADI had the money to produce a correctly operating app and test it before release? Perhaps that is too much to expect... Excellent fun diving in Fujairah for the last few days though.

Terrible App / Absurd Prices

Reviewed on 2021-05-13T17:20:35

The App is terrible. Period. With all the money PADI charges you would think they would have a worldclass app. I used to be able to access my list of certs thru ScubaEarth - now you need to pay an obscene amount - $46 I believe - for an E-CARD when I already spent hundreds on a course. Highway Robbery. First, fix your app. Then, stop raking people over the coals on things like e-cards. Embarrassing.

PADI is insulting its international members

Reviewed on 2021-04-08T03:37:26

PADI has been around for a long time, and worldwide. And for that reason, you would have expected the organisation to be acting as an international organisation, right? Well, today, when registering on their website, to participate in a costly course, I was prompted for my address which happens to be in Thailand. My address would NOT be tolerated, or in any variation, even though I live in a 20 year old and well known building and location in Bangkok. (I entered western letters in the address box) It turns out the trick is to abandon this part, and go to the login. This worked, but they just never got my address. So, why even ask for it, if its not important to PADI? Why leave it up to peoples persistence to twist their way into the (paid) education site? This is a shameful shameful disclosure of an organisation that seems to wanna tell us all, that it has no clue whatsoever about what its doing. Its not only comical, its bordering to an insult to its international members. Its head of IT should continue sleeping, and leave the IT to someone who actually cares about this member service.

Answer choices are all wrong??

Reviewed on 2021-03-27T15:59:19

I’m in the mid-beginning of PADI e-learning. It took me FOREVER to figure out how to get into the darn thing.Even with the help of 3 different associates. I’m trying to take one of my assessment/reviews and I can’t get past the first question because it’s telling me EVERY option (answer) they provide is WRONG! Ughhhhhhh!!! How can I take my test if they can’t even get it right?!

Terrible app and a huge scam on e-cards

Reviewed on 2021-03-27T14:56:08

The app is terrible, it must have lots of fake reviews on the app store. It is impossible to restore ecards. That they charge for an 'ecard' at all is outrageous but $48 USD? Unbelievable, especially after hundreds of dollars for the learning materials and certifications. What a scam! Even worse it's $48 per card! Not one card that lists all your data and it won't automatically update as you acquire more - what kind of 'ecard' is that? Sounds more like a 'photograph of your card'. Worse still, they happily take advantage of the dumb and ignorant by happily selling you an open water AND an advanced for $48 each. What possible use could you have for an open water card if you have an advanced card for which the open water is a pre-requisite. Why would an "ecard" not automatically update and show all your certifications?!? They also make the process for looking up your diver number online convoluted and difficult. After seeing how bad others got screwed on e-learning I would like to add that I agree that it also cost me extra to do elearning in advance (marginal cost almost $0) rather than in person instruction with a dive shop (has a real cost). I also noticed that the e-learning platform that was dreadfully outdated and terribly designed even 5 years ago is still the same.

Utter sh_t the app.

Reviewed on 2021-02-20T16:08:11

All my dives disappeared from the logbook. The app is incredibly unstable. My certificates is not showing correctly.PADI webmaster tells me I’m the only one experiencing problems... when I read here I realize they are simply lying. If it wasn’t for the fact I have a great instructor I would not use PADI! And the fact that PADI has 88% bad reviews and still not doing anything about it! Makes me really wonder. And they simply answer the bad reviews with a standadmessage where you easily can tell they didn’t even bother to read your review.
