Although the paint is lovely to apply and the colours I have used in the new washable matt furniture paint look gorgeous, this paint chips even though it says it is primer and top coat all in one! I have applied two coats of Rust-oleum matt lacquer and still so easy to chip! I am absolutely fuming as I spent £150 on their new range and now I have to figure out how not to waste it by trying to mix with a decent paint and seeing if that stabilises its durability?I have been painting furniture for 17yrs and have never had this problem. I will be sticking to Vintro luxury chalk paint as it is far superior and is durable. Yes, I did send them a message on Instagram direct message for it to be seen and ignored.

Rustoleum spray paints are terrible

Rustoleum spray paints are terrible! Dont buy them!
The cans are full of aerosol and not much paint.1 light coat i achieved on less than a square metre. Patchy, spluttering cans. Ive tried their ‘universale hammered copper’ and their textured stone effect desert bisque. Both terrible, especially the desert bisque. Not even half a metre lightly sprayed and it ran empty! No coverage at all. I’d need at least 5 cans to cover fully my half sq metre project.
They make more profit by filling the can full of aerosol gas, than paint....terrible quality!
Youd be better off buying a generic brand than paying out for this ‘top’ brand.
I’ll scour all review websites to warn all never to use rustoleum paints. Ok if youve got a cup to spray, but any serious projects, just dont bother. You’ll end up as pissed-off as i am!!read more

Furniture chalk paint is absolute garbage!!! I use a different brand but wanted to try a specific colour that rustoleum did.The paint is too thick, leaves streaks and once dry looks awful plus leaves fingerprint marks. I will NEVER use again!read more

absolutely ridiculous, i literally purchase 100 bucks or better of their spray paints a week for my business,i work with my family. my sister in law with a clogged can over a year ago and recently one with nothing but a leaky valve leaked everywhere, i offered to send the can and my receipt cause lord knows they think you are scamming them for the price of a can of paint? due to having three people with similar names in my home, meaning two sister in laws they are confused? not sure why its their business? both times they were offered to be returned if rustoleum paid for the return shipping of the can they wanted, i was not paying for return shipping of their jacked up product. not sure why me living with family is their business? sorry im not white enough, i simply wanted an answer and asked for nothing but an answer on what the issue is when clearly home depot told me to check out the reviews and see others are having the same problem, something has changed, its annoying to have to sand and re-sand due to spray can defects leaving drips, i wish TP allowed photos to see this mess i have over here from this can. and rustoleum you do realize i am not the only christine in the world right?read more
Rust-Oleum epoxy concrete floor paint

Product looked great after I applied it to my driveway, but after 6 months. Not so much.
It has peeledand faded in some areas.
I did inform Rust-Oleum of this but was told that it is normal for that to happen.
I would not recommend this product.read more

Furniture Paint very disappointing

Having used Rustoleum Furniture Paint before ( painted a wardrobe dark grey) and been pleased with the results,I am deeply disappointed that I have just purchased the same paint in Duck Egg Blue and it is awful, thin as if they have forgotten to put the chalk part of the paint in! It has taken two coats and the finish is still awful - has the formula changed or was this just a bad batch?read more
Do not buy RustOleum Bench top paint.
Reviewed on 2021-01-03T05:50:54
It takes a lot for me to write a negative review but, for RustOleum, I am willing to make an exception.Brought Rustoleum to paint the kitchen bench tops following a recommendation from Bunnings staff. A terrible mistake. The product is a disaster! Followed the instructions to a T and even left the benches for an additional week to dry before using but to no avail. In addition, I even put placemats under all the appliances to protect the surface but that was also a waste of time. The painted surface scratches at the slightest touch and is still tacky to the touch after more than 6 months. Everything now sticks to to the bench and if I put down a bag with a label on it, the actual label will stick to the bench top and needs to be soaked off to remove. I Contacted company and was sent out a replacement batch to redo, however, decided enough was enough and took product back to Bunnings to get a refund.
Three weeks of inconvenience and work for nothing. In addition, I now have to replace the bench tops due to the negative effect the paint has had on them. Put simply - Do not buy this product!read more
