Sally provides the channels that allow manufacturers of beauty supplies to reach customers, both professional and non-professional. Sally Beauty Company, Inc. began as a one-store operation in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1964. The Company expanded slowly until the 1980s, when it began to grow rapidly through acquisition and new store openings. In 1982, Sally moved its corporate headquarters to Denton, Texas following the acquisition of a Denton-based chain. In 1985, Sally acquired a major full-service (professional only) beauty supply distributor servicing the Midwestern United States. The growth of the full-service business led to the formation of the company now known as Beauty Systems Group LLC, focusing on distribution solely to the professional trade. New store openings and acquisitions continue to guide Sally's expansion. In 1987, Sally became an international company with the acquisition of an affiliate in the United Kingdom. Today, Sally and its affiliates operate over 4500 stores throughout the United States and the world. Our international operations now extend to the United Kingdom, continental Europe, Puerto Rico, Canada, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico. Both Sally Beauty Supply and Beauty Systems Group have successful and growing online (e-commerce) businesses. In 2006, Sally became a publicly held company with its shares traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Sally and its affiliates have long been industry leaders. Expertise in professional product merchandising, distribution and education provides the basis for a commanding presence in the global market. This, combined with strong domestic growth and international development, positions the companies for anticipated continuing success in future years. Damaged online order

Received in the mail today my 2 nail polishes. One of them busted open in the envelope and there is blue polish all through the packaging ,order slip, and the other polish that was with it. It was packed very very poorly; no wonder it busted. I have emailed customer service and am awaiting a response as to what can be done to correct this. I really liked the shades I ordered so I’m hoping they fix this. Will report back their actions.

I've been twice to the battersea store now and followed round an pestered by the staff as if I'm a theif or something,I then picked hair extensions but instead of being able to walk around looking whilst holding the hair extensions in my hand the worker took it from me an kept it behind the till until I paid as if I was going to steal it, this is not normal behaviour at all. And really bad customer service its made me not want to go back. Also the extensions are awful so thin and whispy they make no difference to your hair.

Will not honor medical exemptions.

I entered the completely empty store this evening to buy some shampoo all the while breathing freely.When the girl asked if I forgot my mask, I calmly explained that I have a medical exemption, she then asked me for my letter. She said ‘Mayor Kenny’ told her she could ask for it. I explained to her that ‘my medical profile is absolutely none of your business. A police officer needs to have a warrant to request my personal information, so PREMIER Kenny is wrong’. I will be canceling my Sally account this evening and emailing their head office. Any business that enforces this invasion of privacy will lose my purchases for life. Sorry, but a random 20 year old girl has no right to know my medical information.

Racist, Unprofessional, and Horrible Customer Service

This afternoon I went to exchange the Design Essentials Skin and Scalp Anti-Itch Oil I purchased aweek ago for Sunny Isle Jamaican Castor Oil because there were ingredients in the Design Essentials oil that my daughter and I were allergic to. There was a buy 2 get 1 free sales promotion going on when I bought the item and it is currently still on. The Design Essentials item was my free item, so I just went to exchange it. The sales associate went to the back to ask the manager for assistance. When she came back up she said that her manager said since my Design Essentials oil was free then I had to pay full price for the the Sunny Isle oil. I explained the promotion to her so she went to the back to talk to the manager again. At this point more people were getting in line. When the sales associate came back she said her manager checked and the Sunny Isle oil was not a part of the promotion. I took the sales associate to the sign that said it was a part of the sale and asked her to ask her manager to come up and talk to me directly so she wouldn’t have to go back and forth and because people were in line. The sales associate went to the back again to talk to the manager, and I went back to the register. A white customer who was 3rd in line said I was making mountains out of mole hills, and I asked her to mind her business because she did not know what was going on. She said she knew what was going on and said I was too broke to be at Sally’s and shouldn’t be there. She said that if had any decency then I would have stepped aside for her to be taken care of. I let her know that I was a paying customer as well and deserved assistance. She continued talking and the black woman behind her told her she should stay out of it. The sales associate came back up and had an issue trying to process the exchange. The manager came up and didn’t acknowledge me or help the sales associate. She checked out the white woman behind me, and then checked out the white woman that was being rude to me who was next behind her. The black woman who spoke up for me was next after her, and when she came to the counter, she said you have a customer waiting referring to me. The manager told her she wanted to get the line down, and the customer had to tell her to take care of me first. It literally took the manager less than a minute to enter whatever she entered for the transaction to go through. She still did not acknowledge me, apologize, or say anything to me and went right back to checking the next person out. This type of behavior is absolutely unacceptable, and if the the manager would have came up and provided her assistance the first time the sales associate asked for assistance then none of this would have happened. I will NOT be shopping at Sally’s Beauty anymore!

They remind you what’s out of stock after you’ve bought the items and have no way of canceling.After reaching out to customer support over call, they told me to write them an email telling them my entire situation. I should have to write an email if I called them.

I am a loyal customer and am not sure why anymore. Every single time I place an order online either to pick up in store or have shipped to my house there are ALWAYS items all of a sudden unavailable.This really messes me up, especially when it’s part of a promotion. I’m just sick and tired of the lack of care and/or professionalism of this company.

Never again for Sally's Placed online order and went through to…

Placed online order and went through to manually select ship to me for all items - still had one item end up being in-store pickup,though I never received notification to pick it up. Somehow shipped items ended up being shipped to my current street address but the previous city and state where I used to reside, so I never would have gotten it. In the meantime, I had canceled the order. Then got notification (six days after placing the order) that an item was out of stock. Called customer service and was essentially told too bad, I'll have to wait until the entire debacle plays out, then get a refund if the package ever manages to get back to Sally's. She said it a bit more politely than that, but not much. I demanded escalation to a manager, which she said she would do. So my order got canceled today and a refund was issued today, so apparently customer service was wrong about there being nothing that could be done. But apparently you have to be a Karen to get basic customer service, and that's too bad.
