Salomon choose to use UPS for their…

Reviewed on 2021-05-19T20:50:02

Salomon choose to use UPS for their free delivery service, which at best is poor judgment, UPS lostmy Quest 4D 3 GTX boots today and have been obstructive to say the least in providing me with a reason as to why. I called Salomon, they really do not appear bothered, no one appears to want to take ownership of the problem or help me due to 'processes'. I asked that while the investigation was going ahead, that they reserve replacement boots for me, nope, processes. I asked them to call the courier, nope, processes. So a thieving courier has got away with his crime as Salomon CS representatives have....processes. Nice that we replaced computers and bots with real people who just act like computers and bots.... Poor customer service, from people not bothered about keeping valuable customers and who are unable to use initiative or think outside the box.

Bought a pair of GTX boots for a trip…

Reviewed on 2021-05-12T09:41:48

Bought a pair of GTX boots for a trip to the Lake District. They leaked on the first use damp underfootconditions but which a pair of trainers probably would have managed. Salomon treated us like criminals and made us jump through so many hoops with the warranty. There was also the instance when we had a silence to our replies and had to start all over again. They tried to give us a voucher when they had no stock to replace for a similar product and then when stating to them that we were entitled to a refund, all hell broke loose. I would expect their behavior from an angry little man selling them privately on eBay but not from a supposed reputable retailer. It has taken another 5 weeks to process the refund, which they are now claiming they are holding back £12 for shipping, even though they sent faulty boots and we purchased jackets an, leggings and other items within this order. I used to love their products when I first took up skiing but on reflection, they are getting worse year on year and it is now Sports Direct quality at premium prices. Topped with an equally aggressive approach to aftersales help and support. This is my first negative review I've ever left because I feel that mistakes happen and people have bad days but this is simply astounding how poor they have been. We purchased them in November and it now May, the refund hasn't cleared and we will still be chasing the postage, they apparently want to hold back, for weeks :(

Customer support does not care about your buisness.

I bought a new pair of hiking shoes X ULTRA 3 GTX WIDE The first time using them the quick lace broke.I contacted Salomon website and filled out the form with 5 pictures they wanted and got no email reply. So i called and got hung up on, then i called back and the response was they were out of black laces (was the color i wanted to match my shoes) So their response was to wait 2 MONTHS for that color. They had yellow and white in stock. or just return the shoes for a refund. No exchange available. The agent was very rude about it, no sorry for the wait just wait 2 months or return the shoes. PS the Amazon Salomon store has them for sale! but i could not use the code to get them.

The 1 year walking shoe

Reviewed on 2021-04-21T13:04:36

In December 2018 I replaced my 8 year old Salomon X Ultra 3 GTX shoes with the same model having hadreally good service from them. I only wear them from April to September for taking the dogs for a walk, about 2.5 to 3 miles of level paths, 4 or 5 times a week so they get worn for say 1.5 hrs each time on average. On the odd occasion we do the 6 miles of the Whitegate Way but being 72 that is only once every month or so. After September I wear my now 5 year old Berghaus boots. Last week to my surprise I noticed my right shoe was coming apart with the upper separating from the sole. I checked the left and that was in worse condition with the sole splitting also. I wrote to Salomon customer service sending photo's and a copy of the receipt showing the order date of 12/12/2018 but explaining they were only worn from April 2019 and what they were worn for. They have advised that their warranty is 2 years only but they offered a 20% discount of a new pair which still gives them profit of course. So if you want a pair of hiking shoes that may possibly only last a year if worn every day but have a 2 year warranty then I can recommend Salomon X Ultra 3 GTX.

Salomon X ULTRA 4 MID GORE-TEX review - expensive and narrow

Reviewed on 2021-04-08T08:04:55

Beware, these women's hiking boots are gorgeous in the sand colour, expensive at nearly 200 euro price point, and NARROW! I normally wear 38 (my foot is 24cm and normal width) but the sizing guide said to go for 39. I ordered both pairs and the 38 was indeed way too snug, so kept 39. However, 39 has a little too much space in the front to my liking, at least a centimetre, and it's squeezing the sides of my foot which feels like poo especially now that I'm sitting in the office just thinking how the hug is way too tight, and annoyingly have a lot of space in the front, so I feel like Ronald Mc Donald. The grip on even wet stone surfaces is great but absolutely terrible on ice. Shoe laces are slippery and keep opening all the time so have to be tied tighttt. I literally just went for looks since it's difficult to find beautiful dog walking/nature wandering shoes, and went for a brand that was reputable in my mind. I'm unable to write this review on Salomon's website since I bought them from a sports store but I just wanted to give the feedback to Salomon that please make the shoes wider again like the predecessors were (someone wrote previous model was up to 1cm wider). Very disappointed since these shoes were very very expensive and I saved up for them :( I've had them for 3 weeks now and they are as tight as ever.
