Their tea reviews are a scam

Reviewed on 2021-02-24T21:56:07

I've ordered Assam and chai teas from Teabox. Overall the teas I've tried were good. Some were not so good and for those teas I wrote negative reviews. Teabox never published my negative reviews and in one instance questioned my review. If you read through tea reviews on their site, you'll noticed that ALL their teas are highly reviewed. Kind of a scam, I'd say.

Will not leave you alone

I purchased an iced tea maker from this company 2 years ago. Since then despite my unsubscribing fromtheir mailing list THEY WILL NOT LEAVE ME ALONE. Every time I get one of their pestering emails I unsubscribe, but they ignore my request and continue pestering me. I think I must have unsubscribed at least 4 or 5 times, but they still pester me....buyers beware this pestering Indian company will never ever leave you alone.

not trustworthy

Reviewed on 2020-07-24T20:22:29

First of all, I did not order from this company. They wanted me to email an image of my credit card and my passport which is a big NO,and isn't even mentioned in their privacy policy. Well, how good are privacy and consumer protections in India anyway? If they don't trust me to provide them true payment information, why should I trust this company to keep my personal data safe? They put my order on hold but still charged my credit card as I found out later when the statement came in, and this even after I canceled the order. How shady is this? If you dig in a bit deeper into their website you'll also find that their claim of freshness and advantage of direct shipping to customers doesn't hold water. They list the production date, and for all Assam teas I was looking at the date was in summer last year. Why order from them when you can get the same from a domestic store at the same or lower price?

Racist pricing policies.

Reviewed on 2019-08-27T08:05:17

I discovered that Indian customers only pay 40% the price of foreigners. Apart from printing a customs declaration, their costs are exactly the same. They also charge you a higher price than the shipping costs. Stupidly, they charge the biggest market for high end Indian tea (the UK) more than anywhere. Even the USA pays 20% less! The price you pay ends up the same as in the West. So what's the point? I'd rather share the money along the chain than support the millionaire nabob lifestyle. £10 used to go various people. Now it just goes to them. How much extra they give the garden? ZERO. Do they kick back to the near slaves they exploit? No. So where does all their funding go? Fancy corporate nonsense for the Indian millionaire class (the most exploitative, looting people on earth). They need transparency, they need honesty, they need non racism, they need to actually support the tea workers. Oh. And they delete bad reviews. Try deleting this tea box.
