I was really excited to purchase from…

Reviewed on 2021-03-28T15:09:18

I was really excited to purchase from this company, and found creating my own capsule to be a great way to do that more affordably. But they were out of half of what I wanted, and the products had reviews that said people waited more than a year for what they wanted to come back into stock! If I want to purchase items that go together, I'll have to buy them one at a time (negating the discount of a capsule), cross my fingers that the matching items will eventually come back in stock, and possibly have to wait a year for them to do so?! No, thank you. I wanted to support a business that claims to be women-owned and sustainable and seems to have some great clothes for packing lightly when traveling, but I can't afford to take my chances on this--especially after reading reviews about the varied quality of the pieces.

0 Responsibility. Problematic Support Emails.

I was so excited to buy from VETTA. I'd seen great things from other reviewers and on social media. The sustainable concept is cool and I thought was totally something I could get on board with. That's where the good things end. The second you open that package, they screw you over every chance they get while pretending their morals and service are beyond reproach. I was grossly surprised at what a low quality, badly designed product I received. I ordered a top and it was not at all as described, between the feel, fit, cut, and fabric texture and PATTERN, of all things. Immediately upon opening the package I knew I'd be returning the shirt, only to visit their website and find out VETTA has the absolute, without a doubt, worst return policy I've come across in years. Any return of a sale item, no matter if the product is damaged or if they sent you the wrong thing or even if you just don't like it, requires a $7.95 "return fee" and sometimes you're required to pay shipping as well. Excuse me?? When I reached out to support to make sure I understood (because it sounded so ridiculous and in all my years of online shopping I've NEVER been asked to pay a return fee or rarely even for return shipping) their response was to suggest that I, their customer, couldn't possibly understand the struggles they face as a small, women-owned business. Seriously. I run a small women-owned small business. For a company portraying themselves as so progressive and well-meaning, I couldn't believe how problematic this whole situation has been.

Claims no Ownership over Returns Process

Reviewed on 2020-11-17T21:07:30

The concept of this brand is great and from my first order, there were two items that had a versatile design and great quality.I honestly was really excited to purchase from them given their capsule concept. Out of my order, there were three items that I thought were overpriced for the material, threads were loose, etc.. As a result, I went through their return process to send them back. This is when the trouble started. The order I made was paid for approximately with ~1/3 giftcard and ~2/3 credit card. I opted to pay the $7.95 shipping fee to have it processed back to my credit card. A week went by after the return arrived at their facility. I get an email that the return was processed. A few days later, I still hadn't seen the refund on my credit card statement. I emailed them to inquire and they stated that the refund had went back on the original giftcard that was used. I didn't receive any information stating this had happened. The giftcard had been used in full for my original purchase, so I didn't even have the giftcard number on hand anymore. I asked if my credit card could be refunded instead and they claimed that gift cards were always refunded first. Okay - that might make sense if a majority of the order was paid with a giftcard, but it wasn't. This seemed like another way for them to get me to continue buying stuff from them. I pressed further for clarity and suddenly the story changed - it was no longer that giftcards get processed first but that they had to avoid fraud and it wasn't their fault, the third party purchasing system did it for them, they had no control over their returns, etc. Long story short, they claimed they had no ownership over their return system or how it worked. I was also being pressured to make another order just to use up my giftcard balance with them. Their clothes are not cheap and the fact that I was expected to purchase again was not a small thing. All in all, for the price point, and their claim that they cannot hold responsibility for their return process or system makes me hesitant to do business with them. If you don't want to get stuck with potentially expensive items that might not be the quality you expect or if you don't want to deal with a potentially convoluted return system, steer clear. I love seeing small businesses grow, and I know there are kinks along the way, but not being able to control or clearly explain your return process to take ownership of your customer experience is something that could be improved.

Varied Experience,

Reviewed on 2020-09-05T22:19:24

My experience with this brand has been really mixed. Below I'll include the pros and cons. The PROS The customer service is good and fast just like the shipping.Their returns process is easy and they've given a really generous return window because of COVID-19. The capsules that they offer are expensive, but they are generally pretty great. Sometimes the clothing isn't my style but since they've allowed you to buy individual pieces, this isn't a problem. They even let you design your own capsule and offer you a discount when you do. When the pieces are high quality, they're really high quality. Additionally, they're a sustainable, environmentally friendly company and woman-owned. The CONS So the quality of the clothing is really, really varied considering how expensive it is. You could get a piece that's high quality and a flimsy piece in the same shipment. I've gotten a pair of pants that had loose threads all over the place, a very loose button, and when I LIGHTLY tugged at the belt loop, it fell apart. Keep in mind these pants cost $129 and I had JUST taken them out of the packaging. In the shipment I also received a top that was durable and strong. The sizing is all over the place too, a size 4 in one dress will be a completely different experience in another, and it's not a matter of styling. I don't know what pieces they send to small/sustainable business reviewers, but they must get higher quality pieces than the ones they tend to sell the general public, as I have yet to hear about the issues I've encountered from any reviewer. Overall, this is a pretty ok sustainable brand, but just be aware of some possible cons when ordering the clothing.
