Fake Copper Watering Can

Beware cheap, false products. This is the email I just wrote West Elm after the fake copper finish came off.It was marketed as copper. It cost $99. I was told to call the local store and ask for a discount of another watering can (that they don't offer?) They took no ownership of their faulty product. If they wanted to call the store and confirm, they should have done so. What kind of customer service system is this? I never received a response to my last email. They really don't seem concerned that they sold a fake product. I sent them photographic evidence of the flaked off "copper" The product is titled "Modern Copper Watering Can" "I purchase a watering can 2 years ago, thinking it was copper. It began to rust quite badly, which didn’t make sense. When I tried to clean it, the coating came off, explaining why it was rusting from minimal use. This is a beautiful watering can. One I thought I’d use my whole life, but it is actually quite cheaply made and not worth the very expensive price tag. I suggest putting a disclaimer on it that it is only meant as decoration. " REPLY: My info and the store I bought it at. WEST ELM: "Because your merchandise was purchased at one of our retail stores, we, unfortunately, do not have a record of your purchase through our Catalog and Internet Sales departments. However, you may contact your local retail store for further assistance. I have included the contact information for our Calgary Store here: Mount Royal Village 868 16th Avenue SW Calgary, AB T2R OS9 Phone: (403) 245-1373 Monday-Saturday 11:00am - 6:00pm Sunday 12:00pm - 6:00pm I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience but are confident your local West Elm store will be able to assist you with this matter. Thank you again, and please feel free to contact us with any other questions." Me: "I would rather not call a store and ask for a discount on a product that was mis-marketed by your company. It seems like I’m doing all the work to get justice for your faulty product I will just stop shopping at West Elm. I no longer trust your products, or your ability to rectify the problem."

Appalling bad service....

Avoid at all costs. I am so disappointed at the bait-and-switch on delivery times - when I ordered my 3 sectional pieces February 17th,the estimated delivery window was early April - as soon as I clicked the order button that changed to mid-to late April. Okay. Then every time I checked progress it was another 2 weeks behind. When the window changed to June I emailed Customer Service to complain - they said they were sorry and on their records it showed that my pieces would be finished and shipped by the end of May. Lie. The expected delivery window is now the end of JUNE and I'm sure next week it will say July. And don't tell me that they couldn't predict their completion window one full year into the pandemic, they just string customers along because you have no choice but to wait. In times of high unemployment, they can hire as many folks as they need to get their commitments filled but they just can't be bothered. DISGRACEFUL. Avoid avoid avoid.

If I could give below a one star rating I would. My daughter moved into a new house a year ago and was excited to buy her first couch.She bought a Henry sectional. Due to COVID, it was very late in delivery. That being said, she has had it for less than a year. She lives alone, has had very few guests over and owns no pets. The couch looks like its 20 yrs old. It is pilling and the fabric is faded and very worn looking. When I called West Elm, they told me they only stand by their product for 30 days. I've never heard of such a thing. Absolutely awful. For the price of their furniture, you would think there would be a little more of a warranty, or even a care about their product. When I told customer service that I would be writing a review where ever I could, she said 'please do', is there anything else I can help you with' AWFUL . I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM OR THEIR PRODUCTS

The 8 Month Long Chair

I ordered a custom chair from west elm back in December promising a feb/March arrival.Seemed long but I understood due to covid delays this is common. It is now May & I’m being told my chair will not arrive until end of JULY almost 8 MONTHS! I have written countless email back and forth with customer service. Finally they told me I would be able to return my order but not until they charge me in full & hold my money until the chair reaches their distribution center. I just do not understand why they need to hold my money when I will not be receiving the chair. Will NEVER buy from West Elm again. I just keep asking them to make this nightmare end & it’s been an 8 month headache.

Don't order anything EVER from West Elm! I ordered a chair and a half, and it arrived 3 months later.The cambric fabric on the bottom was improperly sewn, and one of the legs had a big gouge in it. I contacted West Elm, and they referred me to the "scheduling department" at Ryder, who they said would schedule a "furniture medic" to come to my home and fix the chair. They then sent a replacement leg. I had to call three or four times to get this set up, only to be told that they no longer use furniture medics; the only thing they could do was take it back to the warehouse and fix it. So it took more time and calls to get that set up. Finally, Ryder showed up and told me they had a "delivery" for me, but I said it wasn't a delivery and showed them the chair. They said they had a different chair to deliver. They finally got it sorted out and took the chair, saying someone would call me in five minutes to tell me when my chair would be fixed and returned. A call came a couple of hours later asking about my "delivery" but with no information about when I could expect the chair to be returned. Two days later, I received a call from a woman asking again about my "delivery," so when I asked when my chair was going to be fixed and returned, she said that she didn't think they could fix it, only order a replacement. I am going to cancel the order completely at this point and have written a letter to West Elm's CEO. Worst customer experience ever--just a circus!

Terribly company, not a good place to buy furniture from. I am currently waiting for two cozy chairs,the delivery date has been extended, now its over two months. In the order tracking information, they have a range, with not much information. Different customer service provides different answers as to when it will be delivered. I doubt I will get it anytime soon. I also ordered a rug at that same time, which has now dropped in price. They do not adjust the price either, on their own items. I was told by customer service that they never adjust the price. This is the last time I will purchase from West Elm. Ridiculous !

If I could give it zero stars I would. After 6 months, three incorrect items, multiple orders withincorrect quantity and two orders shipped to the wrong address I’ve been theres really nothing they can do to fulfill my order. In November of 2020 I ordered a set of six votive candles in a quantity of two so in total it would’ve been 12 candles. From November 2020 to April 2021 I was told the item was backordered. When they finally shipped in April I was sent incorrect items I was sent taper candles. I was told to return them and a replacement will be sent out. The next two replacements were both the same taper candles that were incorrect items. In total three orders were sent as replacements each with the wrong items prompting me to have to return each. I’ve been told these items are back ordered; that they are being discontinued, that they are back in stock and in inventory which at this point I guess are all lies. I have now been told that they are no longer selling the set of six candles but that I can set up a new order and individually buy each candle if I would like a discount of 10% off. Instead of fulfilling my order by sending each individual candle to get to the set of six they say that they cannot do this to fulfill my order after six months and over 30 emails with over 30 different customer care representatives. I have repeatedly requested one person to take it forward, for a supervisor to take it forward, for a call to happen to no avail. I have submitted a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as it seems to be a very simple fix that West Elm is refusing to proceed with after mistake upon mistake on their part why would I ever individually buy these candles when I’ve ordered a set of six.

Terribly unprofessional, ridiculous company I have ever dealt with. While their furniture is very stylish the quality is absolutely atrocious for the price.Customer service is a joke. Immediately after purchasing the Lucas Swivel chair we notified the store that it was defective due to scratched base, creaking, bumpy swivel and one stripped screw. We were then told they would order parts and have them shipped to us so we could fix the chair. I was appalled. The chair was not even a half an hour old. The burden for fixing this chair was entirely on us. I would recommend never to purchase from West Elm. Their website is also beyond stupid. The website states store delivery is an option ,but when you place the order they tell you only home delivery is available at a significantly higher price. Even after picking up at the store before ordering a replacement, they had the audacity to tell me store pick up is not available?store delivery is available as the website states, but the customer service reps have no idea how to help. All West Elm is able to do effectively is take your money and give tremendous frustration. I’m so annoyed that there is literally no one I won’t tell about my experience. They take advantage of their customers. Horrible store. Never had such a bad experience!
