Do not waste your time, worst site builder

Reviewed on 2021-03-14T15:31:26

If it was possible to rate it "0" , I would, because it's totally useless. After you get through the initial steps: registration, choosing a template, adding text and pics, which takes time, you start to see the problem: nothing works beyond the pre-built template. You CAN'T customise. Support sends you the same instructions that already led you nowhere. You make a screen video where you do EXACTLY what they say and showing it DOESN'T work, send to them and receive a response offering you to PAY for a subscription in order to get help. QUESTION: Why would anyone pay if even the basic version of their template does NOT work? I would ask that question, if I were you.

Ten-Year-Customer Looking Forward To The Next Ten!

Reviewed on 2020-03-19T07:26:55

If it were possible to award Yola.com an extra star making it six, I would be more than glad to do so.It's because this company gives a little extra of themselves to us consumers in many areas like customer service, server maintenance and technical support. The affordable prices can't be beat either. To accomplish what we have with Yola on the scale of size and reach we have would cost us a small fortune with a majourity of other companies that provide exactly what Yola does. And a word about some of the negative reviews I've seen from customers who have been with Yola for more than five years, if things were really that horrible with Yola, why are you still their customers? The positive aspects of what keeps people with Yola for many years far outweigh the occasional "bumps in the road." I enthusiastically recommend Yola for many reasons, but primarily because of the service I get and the results I see from our websites we have hosted by Yola. For the guy who can't figure out the publish feature, what's your hurry? If that's your only big gripe, it seems to state that everything else is great with Yola. Even if it takes a while to go "live" nobody can say that the publish request has ever failed. And for anyone looking to build a website like dude saying the company stole from him; read the fine print and accept that when you agree to something you're not allowed to go back on your part of the agreement. That in itself is nearly theft by deception; promising to pay for a service that someone has already paid for on your behalf and then requesting a refund. I'd swear that some people have the Ombudsman and various other consumer complaint agency phone numbers on their speed dial. That review doesn't seem credible because I've always been able to cancel auto-renewal.

What part of stealing do you not…

What part of stealing do you not understand, we had told you the credit card was not removable off the site before the auto renewal went on the following day.We had tried to stop the payment on the site beforehand and you are not contactable soon enough as you have no phone number and are slow to respond. We will be contacting the FCA and Financial Ombudsman. You rating will also be displayed on all major sites for having done this to us. Additionally, the site build features are 10 years behind the times for building sites and this site was supposed to be free but the add ons get you. For example the email feature is a charge. In the early days there was a phone number. Then it was, we will call you back. Now they don't bother. I was going to dissolve the site anyway, but the way this has ended has led me to post this response. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yola's Terms of Service state that there is a 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions, however this does not apply renewals, to domain name registration or other domain name services. Once a domain is renewed, no changes can be made to its registration period. This is standard industry practice and something that is beyond our control. As we have already incurred a cost with our registrar to renew your domain, your renewal payment is non-refundable.

I've used Yola for many years

Reviewed on 2018-01-31T16:53:15

I've used Yola for many years. Around 6 to be exact. In all those years it seems that they just get worse and worse. The interface for building your site seems user friendly, but I find myself Googling the most basic of tasks i.e. deleting a page. But the main reason Yola deserve 1 star, in my opinion, is based mostly on their unstable publishing function. I have had this issue probably for the past 6 years and they have never fixed it! It allows you to publish your site for the first couple of tries pretty much instantly, but then it will take around 20 mins to complete, or just give up altogether. When I contact Yola support, I often receive the following responses: "The system is down" or "Try a different browser". It's just irritating to the point where I just learned to accept it and return back to editing my site later. But this longstanding issue is now beyond a joke and I'm now having to consider other alternatives.
