Customer Service at it's worst..

After the experience I had, I would not recommend Avis to anyone. I picked up the car on 5/10/21 and the car was good until 5/14/21 when the car died due to not having the proper amount of oil in it.So little that it was barely registering on the oil dip stick. Luckily the oil light came on as I was pulling into my hotel in Sequoia National Park, so I was able to park the car, but it would not restart after multiple attempts. I called emergency road assistance on 5/14, I was unable to get a new car due to time of day. I called back around 6:40am the next morning and was told the avis locations were closed until 7 and to call back. Because of my location, I had no cell service and had to use the hotels phone. I called avis back at 10:30 and was able to secure a car, but no ride share was available, it had to be delivered within a 2 to 6 hr window. I called avis at 1:30 for an update, was told the car should be there soon. Called back at 4:30, was told the towing company canceled the pickup, but I was never notified of anything during this whole process. She secured another car for me around 6pm with a 2 to 3 hr window. I called at 11:30 and was told the towing company got there and it was closed, but I called way before Avis closed. Again no one called to tell me anything that was happening. So not only did I just lose over 30 hrs of vacation time, I still had no car that I was promised multiple times. Finally on 5/16/21 a car was delivered. From 5/14 @4pm to 5/16 @ 10am No Car. Customer service was horrible, repeatedly told that I would be called back, not once. I was even told to call back in 30 minutes and ask for Kiya specifically and they would not transfer me too her as she was getting me another car. I had to sit next to the hotel phone waiting this entire time because it was the only phone available which I told Avis multiple times. Reservation number: 48452867-us-1. ERS Case ID : 8987030. Billing customer service was even worse, no people skills at all, rep kept beating around the bush when I asked for a refund, repeating wrong information back to me multiple times, being rude. AWEFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Never Again.

Rodrigo at the McCarran airport location was awesome. After getting screwed by Spirit Airlines (review soon to come)he stepped up and found us a car when no else could. Very helpful and friendly. Car was nice and the price was perfect. Would have never made it home otherwise. Definitely will use and recommend to others as well. Thank you again Avis and If you see this Rodrigo I cannot thank you enough.

I am a nurse who has worked through the entire pandemic and need to rent a car to get mine fixed.I made a reservation for a date and my mechanic called me a little over the 24 hrs cancellation policy time and said the parts were delayed,again. I called Avis to try to cacel or scudule the rental. They charged me 3 times the price of the rental to cancel the reservation as i couldn't use it that day. I spend and hour on the phone trying to reschedule and to get rude no's. Do yourself a favor go anywhere else for your rental.

I am making a travel reservation after 1 year of the flu restrictions. I find out all my points with Avis are erased?16 years accruing, the excuse from Salvador on Chat is that they expire after 5 years?? doesn't make any sense. They are difficult and cheap with their points, and then they take them away!! I set up Hertz because they were acting strangely before the flu. glad i did

Don't rent from Avis, at least, at Orlando Airport. 1) Took about 2 hrs standing at the counter to get our car when we checked in already online.No separate line for people who have checked in online. 2) Trusting this company which you should not. We drove the car thinking there was a full tank of gas. NOT! After driving for about 50 miles, the empty gas tank light came on and wow! Called Avis and the only thing they can do is to make a note of it on our account and take care of it when we return the car. REALLY? Can't wait for that experience. I don't think it will be smooth at all. What they should do for us now is to give this car as a free rental for all the hassle we have been through. But are they. HELL NO! Never will I rent from AVIS again. 3) The car smelled of pot and lasted for days. Water bottle under seat and paper too.

Totally Disappointed!

So crooked and misleading, I was charged for a vehicle failure that was not my fault on the premise that I didn’t purchase roadside assistance.I understand if I ran over a nail or broke the windshield, etc. However the car stopped and didn’t start again until roadside assistance jumped it. There was no explanation or options given when I called the assistance # on the rental agreement. I never signed for anything when the repair truck arrived. Upon returning the vehicle the representative at the Avis booth took off 1 day’s rental charge for the inconvenience which I thought was fair, however 3 days later, I receive an email that I am being charged $218. I have Roadside Assistance with my credit card and personal auto insurance for use with car rentals if need be. No one told me anything about a charge. Furthermore, bottom line when you rent a car you expect it to work, not to anticipate a faulty vehicle! Totally disappointed!

Could not find the car we turned in.

March 10th I called Budget to rent a car for 2 weeks in Florida. Pick up Tampa and Return in Orlando.They talked us into the toll package we used it 2 times and were charged $130.00. We dropped off the car in Orlando at noon on May 8th. A few days later we were advised that we needed to turn in the car. After multiple calls daily telling them the car was returned on the correct date. after being on hold for over an hour telling us they would look into and it would take 3-5 business days. Charge card was charged $2,400, when I called the charge was for the extra week we had the car. Finally talking to a Manager we were told they would correct that. No one could explain why they could not find the car. Budget and Avis have recently merged. I see it as a collision. We are not paying until they correct the amount and give us a credit for all the trouble and frustration they caused. Poor company and not responding and making poor excuses is unacceptable. Will never use this company again.

This is the worst car rental company.They have a stupid cancellation policy .I booked for car rentaland happened to cancel it within the next two hours due to my flight change ..I called Avis to cancel it and they refused to refund my money and cited some stupid dump policy .This is a frustrated company ..Go to enterprise or any other customer oriented or friendly company.
