Anti-BBC Bias from across the spectrum

For some reason this site attracts BBC haters. I'm here to redress the balance, just a tad. The BBC is one of the most trusted broadcasters in the World, and for a reason. It invests in training, research, and relentless self-examination, to ensure balance in its news output. But its ability to make programmes has been severely harmed by past right-wing Governments who pruned its budgets and have impaired its ability to satisfy its Charter obligations. It is equally criticised by people from both extremes of the political spectrum. OFCOM regularly reveiws complaints about BBC bias, and has never found any evidence of persistent bias towards or against any political faction. The reason is that the BBC selects employees to represent the various social groups that make up the UK population. Yet complaints arise because individuals get upset that it reports news and opinion at variance with their views and prejudices. The complaints on here are just opinions, without any shred of sustainable evidence.

I watch East Enders occasionally and cannot stop noticing that kitchens are always immaculate and just look like showrooms, as with the rest of the house. I am sure many East Enders have great taste and take a pride in their homes - but surely not all! I find it a bit unrealistic.

BBC news is useful

BBC News is to my mind biased, or has been. I think they are trying to clean that up. Otherwise the BBC news is useful and well done. The rest of TV programming I'm not interested in and don't watch, unless there's a good drama. Much of the drama in recent years has been for lack of a better word - strange, odd, or focussed on relationship breakdown. I'm not interested in soap. I'd rather watch a good crime or political thriller. Listening to the radio is a real struggle because Radio 1 and 2 seem to be almost non-stop talking or people howling with laughter about in jokes. I switch off the moment there's a phone in or quiz or if anyone is talking for more than about 30 seconds. The music I really appreciate, but there simply isn't enough - it's mostly people talking. I like a piece of music to be introduced, something interesting said about it fine, but the 'party atmosphere' is far too much hard work to try to attend to when I'm working or trying to relax. Radio 3 is still a national treasure, mostly it does seem to be music with brief introductions which is the reason I switch it on more than any other station. Radio 4 I rarely listen to, but occasionally there's something good on like a play. I miss what Newsnight used to be, it's no longer giving anything substantial about the news so I don't watch any more. I miss the really good documentaries we used to have years ago, and things like tomorrows world. For a few years I watched Casualty, but stopped when it deteriorated into a soap opera a few years ago, with nothing to challenge your thinking about health and the NHS. I think it's probably too late to try to turn it around, and lots of people seem to like the kind of light entertainment and celebrity culture it offers, but it's not part of my life. I wish there was a station I could relate to.

Outdated model and declining quality

These days, justifying a required payment for television feels harder than before. Streaming options such as Netflix give fresh content, plus they let you leave without penalty. The BBC, however, keeps pushing warnings about penalties instead of better programs. Instead of innovation, viewers get reruns and lackluster reality shows. Clutter lives on that site, while iPlayer drags its feet where sleeker options sprint ahead. Once top-tier reporting now leans hard into slant and noise. It is time for the BBC to become a subscription service and let the public decide if it's actually worth the money. Spoiler: for many of us, it isn't.

Got a nasty email telling me I’d been watching bbc player. I did recently accidentally follow a link and try to sign in to listen to some peaceful sounds, half asleep, thinking it was YouTube. But didn’t end up watching anything because the pop up stopped me and when I tried to sign in I didn’t have my password saved and finally noticed I was just clicking buttons on iplayer. Whoops. No need to stalk me like that bbc. I haven’t been watching any of your videos. I’ve been too busy with my jigsaw.

I thought better of the Bbc

I thought better of the Bbc. Desperate to increase viewers. Now rewriting our most famous female writer Agatha Christie. Love her books read them all but the last rewites from the Bbc have left me cold. I think she would be turning over in her grave. The unnecessay addtions of depravity of scenes in Towards zero made my skin crawl. They have no place in her books. Was it done to shock. I can not watch the rewites of Agatha Christie why do you think it approprite to show them. Its has no place in an Agatha Christie films she never wrote them that way. If I want to what such films I wouldnt watch it with my mother. She was so shocked. I which I could remove the Bbc from my tv. I watch I player fedup of watching shitte. Its keeps remaking old once great programes like Dads Army and Open all hours and then theres Dealth in Paradise great then they make Beyond Paradise and return to Paradise like. It was great when the were made and are now. They dont need to be remade. Make something new for family watching for pity sake.

Ellen Musks free mouth peice

Total rubbish. Might as well re-name this tripe as: USBC More about X than anything else, oh how the BBC love Elon Musk, makes me sick. I am cancelling, this is a total disgrace and waste of money. While Elens' chump chum is sueing the BBC. It's like the 30's in reverse.
