Non-political review of content

Reviewed on 2021-04-07T09:08:59

I doubt there's any point at all in these reviews but anyway. I've always been a huge fan and stalwart supporter of the BBC with its ethos to inform, educate and entertain. In recent years I find it increasingly difficult to defend its record on these aspirations. I assume it is commercial pressures that seem to be eroding these principles. The BBC's aim now seems to be populist, lowest common denominator television. Quality programming is disappearing in favour of increasingly puerile, mindless rubbish. BBC1 is barely watchable. BBC Breakfast is now more like a children's programme. I've always been happy to pay the licence fee but I now object to funding what is increasingly mediocrity at best. It is saddening to witness what appears to be the terminal decline of a once great, world paragon of broadcasting.

the BBC is rubbish

Reviewed on 2021-04-06T15:57:02

I also think the BBC is rubbish but for different reasons from many of the people on here who state that the BBC is run by a load of metropolitan liberal elites.I personally think the BBC is too right-wing, it is unapologetically pro-monarchy, pro-establishment and pro-religion, churning out hundreds of hours of content on these subjects every year, despite much of the population not having a religion (we will see just how few when the census comes out). The organisation is largely ran by baby-boomer white men. BBC 'news' is massively over-dramatised with many of the stories actually being trivial and of little consequence. The BBC also seems to suffer from the delusion that at 7pm we all sit down and watch the one show, which is the most mundane detritus I've ever seen. Finally, the BBC thinks that Mrs Brown's boys is worth charging me money for. For these reasons I say abolish the license fee!

I used to love the BBC

Reviewed on 2021-04-06T07:02:00

I used to love the BBC, but its lack of impartiality and focus on pushing certain issues such as a very narrow view of diversity have ruined it.It’s become too ‘Woke’ and political (left-wing) and doesn’t represent its core audience.

Utterly unrepresentative of the nation

Reviewed on 2021-04-05T22:45:02

As far as the BBC is concerned it’s obsession with diversity is narrowly focused on race and gender -to be truly representative and impartial it needs to be diverse in terms of the values and politics of its employees... about which we hear nothing....

Appallingly smug and biased output

Reviewed on 2021-04-05T20:02:52

Appallingly smug and biased output: patronisingly disrespectful towards anyone not of a metrosexual,left-wing, non-British mindset. Extorting a large fee for the "privilege" of being subject to their agitprop.

Completley disregards 85% of the native…

Reviewed on 2021-04-05T15:10:40

Completley disregards 85% of the native demographic and religious portion of the population in regard for tiny minority opinions based within the confines of the city of London.Whilst they illegally charge the elderly ( who think the public broadcaster has their own interests at heart) Disgraceful service, not a true representation of the British population and with a specific hatred for white English heterosexual men. They moan about white supremacy homophobia and sexism while promoting black supremacist gang culture music which promotes exactly that. They force a tax upon my elderly mother, who does not want to pay but is scared of the consequences, a racket, extortion and full of global propaganda to the fullest.

Boring broadcasting corporation

Reviewed on 2021-04-05T11:38:17

About time now to close down the BBC. You have a millionaire chairman being paid in excess of half a million pounds per year plus expenses and, free West end accommodation. What do we get. Cooking, gardening, wildlife, nature and a very dodgy soap that has had more re-incarnations than the bible and, exceptionally long unnecessary weather reports every few minutes. Disgusting non stop chatter about nothing all the time. Get rid. ??
