No Customer Service I have been waiting over 150 mins on the phone for a Beville's customer service consultant - I was 6th in the queque for 1 hour and now first and am still waiting.Their service is absolutely deporable and has turned me off their products - if they cannot provide a timely phone service - you wonder how you rely on their products. If the purpose of Breville is to make and sell high-end products, why can't i pay them and get one?

I have a high-end Breville Food Processor which is incredible. So when I saw in early March their Smart Oven Air Fryer in Champagne I jumped on it immediately.Two days later my order was cancelled. After much effort, it was explained that it was cancelled because they were out of stock. After I asked how long until they come back in stock I was told beginning of May at worst. I agreed and another order was place. Then I received an email the very next day asking if I wanted to cancel -- even though that information had been entered into the order while I was speaking to the order taker. So I wait... and wait... and around comes May and lo, the Smart Oven Air Fryer is back in stock. So i eagerly await my shipping notification. And I wait. Finally last week, i try to find out the status. 3 Chat Sessions, 3 Phone calls, 4 hangups, 2 cases and I still don't know. The latest is 'wait another 24-48 hours until the order team responds and we will call you back". Funny, that is the same information I have been told for a week. No phone call. No email. No status, No Smart Oven. Should I cancel my original order? Start all over and order it online again? Or just walk away and write off Breville? Their products are great -- but apparently getting one is impossible....

Extremely Poor Breville Support (Espresso Maker)

Purchased a Breville BES870XL Barista Espresso maker online through Best Buy. Already have one,so this 2nd one was for my office. The shower head has never had a good tight seal compared to my first identical machine. After less than 6 months, the seal shower head (gasket) broke as well. Tried to replace this but no gaskets available online work (none available to order online through Breville). Have had a completely non functional ~$800 espresso maker for more than 3+ months. Despite submitting inquiries and numerous emails through Breville Canada support, have had no replies after their initial response. So after 1+ months of trying to work with Breville Support, I plan on returning the item to Best Buy before the initial 1 year warranty runs out. I feel they are simply ignoring my requests and waiting for the warranty to expire. Breville support was essentially non existent! Sad because I do love this product when it works!

Completely blown away!

I put off calling into Breville support because I was worried it would be the usual run around and end up taking way too much time with no results. However,I was completely wrong. I got connected with Victor, and not only was he incredibly good at walking me through all of the troubleshooting, but he also taught me about the machine I had. (We have had this machine for almost a year) Within an hour we had it pulling perfect shots and it has been ever since. I can't say enough good things about this experience. Thanks, Victor!

I've lost my trust in Breville over the years

We got a brand new espresso machine Breville Infuser BES840XL for Christmas last year.This machine was a replacement of an older Breville BES820XL which we had for 7 years. It is a very similar machine in terms of the functions but it would break down periodically so we thought we'd buy a new one when it was on sale. We were hoping this would be a more modern design and deliver a better experience, also being a new machine. It is supposed to have a better thermo block and some cosmetics, like a built in tamper, better programming and setting of brewing temperature. These are nice improvements but they are not fundamentally groundbreaking enough to outweigh the major setbacks that make me want to go back to the old machine. First, this machine came with a broken pressure gauge from the store. The gauge needle's zero point was way up in the espresso range and when I made coffee, it turned up way beyond the dial. So I had to claim a warranty case and ship it straight back to Breville for servicing. This took an extra month before we could use it, since we're in Vancouver and the centre is in Ontario. Here are my comments regarding the machine performance itself. It has a hidden ‘feature’ that conveniently sucks the puck of coffee to the shower screen after the shot is done. This happens almost every single time, even if I try reducing the coffee amount or tamping more. I read it's a common complaint about this machine, or other similar new generation Breville machines. It's supposed to suck extra water from between the portafilter and the shower head but it does have this annoying side effect. To me it is a flawed design, so please look it up and beware. Another ‘convenient’ feature is the water tank placement in the back of the unit. The previous machine had it accessible right from the front, I could see how much water there was and it was nicely illuminated. Now I have to look to the back of the machine under my cupboards in the dark to assess the water level. Since I do have it placed under the cupboard, to fill the tank I need to move it forward all the way to pull the tank out and refill. This machine also tends to go through the water so much faster. It loves water! The drip tray is always full after a few shots so I learned to empty it after each use. The worst annoyance is the rattling noise it makes when pulling a shot. The water tank is designed in a way that has a built in handle, which tends to vibrate and rattle as the machine makes coffee. I had to stick a little piece of velcro (the fluffy side) to the edge of the water tank lid, to prevent the shake. The noise is now more manageable. All in all, the coffee coming out of it is not bad, but the annoying features make me want to get rid of it and spend a little more money on a more sophisticated machine. Kudos to the lady I spoke in the service center who made it possible to ship it there and back for free and get the broken pressure gauge fixed. That's why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one. Bottom line, we trusted Breville over the years with many machine purchases. To mention a few, a burr coffee grinder, blender, hand held blender, toaster, kettle, the espresso machine... Their price was in the higher range and design was nice. But each of the machines only lasted us just beyond the warranty period despite the higher price. All of them, except for the kettle, are now replaced with different brands and devices. I've lost my trust in this brand completely and will not buy anything from them again.

Breville, choose better distributors

This is a very long story but I'll keep it short, before buying from them in their previous form as breville.ae,I visited their original location in Dubai and asked them, what would be the difference between buying the breville barista express from you for 500Dhs more than what I can find it online for? they said we have a service center, I told them not good enough, convince me about the 500Dhs extra that I am paying, the grey market website promised me replacement/repair if anything goes wrong, they said well if you buy from them we will not fix it for you if anything happens. I ignore them and I went ahead and bought from that shady website and it was an Australian version of the breville barista express. around one year and few months later, I wanted to get another one but the grey market website has already closed, and I found out that there is a new website for breville (it seemed that they opened a branch in UAE based on my assumptions, it was actually the same people I mentioned above). So I go ahead and buy from breville UAE for 3500Dhs assuming I will get a great machine. the moment I got a cleaning light on the machine and I started the procedure of cleaning, the pressure gauge stopped working for some reason and then I take it all the way from Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai to check it out and when I reached there the gauge starts working when their "Technician" tested by making coffee, the guage seemed a bit off, and he did not have anything to test if the guage was operating accurately or not nonetheless he said its working now you can take it, I told them, I rather keep it here for you guys to check it and do whatever it needs I don't want to come back again, he said I dont see anything else that needs fixing so I take it back. So I come to try it now, since he put the default settings, I wanted to reprogram the buttons to my preference and to my surprise everytime I program it, it keeps forgetting the settings I have used and so I take it back to them all the way from Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai and told them please check it, and during that visit I took another breville machine that I bought from them as a gift for a friend and had the pressure guage issue as well but didn't work at all. so I leave and I came back two days later after them giving me a call. during that visit I also bought a 7500Dsh Ceado E37D grinder because I was happy with that employee that kept greeting me the first time and was very pleasant to speak with, and also the machine was 2500Dhs cheaper than other places so I decided to get it from them but never mind that. I took the machines, mine back to Ras Al Khaimah, I hit the portafilter on the grinder button to check the hopper for excess coffee that might have been there when they tested it before I put my coffee and suddenly a screaming sound came from the grinder so I stopped and opened the hopper only to be amazed that whomever repaired this unit threw a screw inside the hopper for some reason and now it was permanently stuck and no way of getting it out without disassembly and I was like WOW, round 3. I called them and told them the issue, they apologized as if it seems that they always get issues, and I told them I am not bringing it all the way back to Dubai for a 3rd time, the lady said we will send fetcher and please provide a box, I told them I have no boxes that suits the machine, she said ok then we will ask fetcher to do so, today fetcher comes to pick up the item, 10 minutes later he comes back and says I dont have a box and we dont do this service of providing the box so I took the machine from him. I called breville again and the lady that picked up knew my case, she said well, sir you have to provide a box, I told her I don't have a box!, she said well thats that we cannot do anything (implying you have to bring it to Dubai) I said thanks but I think I will throw this machine because I am not up for more of this thanks! she hung up the line... I mean... what I journey. to anyone who wants to buy a machine, DO NOT buy from breville UAE. now here is the funny thing, that breville machine I got from a grey market website? works much better than both UAE imports, think about that now.

Breville Oven Expensive and Poorly Designed

Update 5/21/21 Breville customer service is responsive. For some reason my toaster oven does not have a serial number on it.They did follow up and offer me a discount on the repair with a 6-mo warranty, it appear that they even pay the shipping, just need to find a box. Or as an alternative for repair they offered me a discount on a new oven. ============================== We have a Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven. The oven itself is a great concept and performs well, however the control panel is poorly designed. You need press the start button multiple times and get lucky for it start. Random functions occur every time you press the button. It turns out that after you use the oven a few times the circuit board warps and button stop working properly. Customer service was easy to work with but they want $149 to repair the unit, when in reality it should be covered by a class action lawsuit since the very design is defective. The $149 is better spent on a more reliable brand.
